you have to finish the quests given by the gods and gain their favor, after the 4th quest or so, they will start asking you if you have heard anything about dragons, once they do, say no they will then tell you the story of dragons fang, after that you will be able to find them hidden in caves around the different maps. This is eazyer to do on the MR home server, or elevation server though, because the gods are harder to find on the freedom servers.

Hey all, I was going to make this a blog post but then I thought that might be a bit over the top so I will just add it as an addition to the next proper blog post. Basically as of right now our facebook group has 389 'likes' which is cool but it means that only 388 of you (besides myself) have a regular feed of the stuff I put up on there, and on Twitter 738. This is not enough! I'd love to blog everything on the dev blog (as that goes to the forum, twitter, facebook and the launcher) however that would get a bit spammy. What we do instead is we start discussions, ask little questions, put up teasers and some other cool stuff on twitter and facebook. It's a great way for you to be able to engage with us, ask us questions, and see some of what we are up to. Many of the individual team members are on Twitter too and they would love to hear from you! What I would love to see is more players following us on Twitter and Facebook! So, as a special reward... I will see to it that once we hit 1,000 facebook likes, a random player who has liked this forum post will recieve a mega-rare set of tools (in-game of course) made from silver. These are not craft-able by players, although they act just like normal tools. NOTE: The old competition was one of our facebook followers but it was pointed out that we can not do this, so instead the winner will be selected from someone who has liked this forum post, once we hit 1,000 facebook 'likes'. Remember: You will only win if the Facebook page is liked or our twitter account followed, so no sneaky business!

The creator of the altar should be able to push, pull and turn it as they please. Would make them a lot more desirable.

Inspired by similar recently created topic, I have decided to present my suggestion. Please let us give order like "follow me" to pets. What is the difference between this and leading on rope? 1. Pet with "follow me" would follow you like aggro animal, additionally treating the doors and gates as passable. 2. It is not possible to stop leading pet by accident like with rope. 3. Pet is not an additional baggage - currently pet is additional burden as you must be careful when you go through the gates etc. Animal with "follow me" order would move at the same speed as owner and possibly climb any slope, too.

Just chipping in to say Wurm is not at all about grinding for me and I've managed to stay addicted for 2-3 years. In fact grinding seems pretty much a waste of time to me, unless you enjoy that (uh....). Ask yourself what the end goal of your grinding is - so you can get / make top gear and earn money to.... play the game? Which you should just have been doing all along instead of grinding? Seems legit. Just find what's fun for you and do that. Skill gain will come as you play. Just one example, I've never ever grinded Blacksmithing yet I have 84 now. How? Making and keeping 2 full sets of metal tools for me and my alt, maintaining them at top QL. Oh and maybe a hundred lamps all told for around my deed and mine. Some people will tell you make 2.14 billion needles to get good Blacksmithing. ROFL. That's a total waste of time and iron. Even though a needle takes infinitesimal amounts of metal to create and imp, what are you going to do with them? #1 rule: If you aren't having fun you're doing it wrong.

True Keldun the one time I tried to stop a troll I got warned my the CA and the troll kept trolling.

Well Enki has essentially forbidden us from "stepping up and stop trolling". Anyone that tries to act like a mod, without being one, has to expect punishment. The only thing one can do is /support.

As a player, I've never been given death threats or anything really over the top. This game is unique, you gain trust and respect in the community, growing friendships and relationships with players throughout the years. It takes time to make these bonds, which can sometime take seconds to completely destroy. When someone does something to ruin your gaming experience, you usually hold a grudge, its a human emotion and is completely normal. Wurm might be a game, but its a very big time investment. I know if someone wastes my time and effort, I would be severely disappointed with them - I won't repeat my mistake, its my game experience too. My kingdom mates have berated me and have made fun of me for years being apart of the staff. Do I care? No, I enjoy it and could care less about what people say over the internet. I've muted my friends and enemies alike, I have no bias, I only follow the guidelines that were entrusted to me. Your post has a bunch of generalizations that really isn't true; you should really PM Enki or Oracle with your concerns. We don't need to see you complaining how the community sucks when it really doesn't. I've been JK for a few months on Epic and have never had to mute one person for insulting or trolling others. There aren't "witchhunts" in Wurm towards players, usually when a community is angry or outraged at someone, they have a reason or two. (From my experience)

Can we have a cool contest that doesn't involve lame "social" sites? Some of us have no desire to make accounts for them.

Hi All! A quick teaser of the improved lighting for caves Budda and myself are working away at. There is still plenty of room for improvement, but I think these images really highlight the important changes being done. Lots of thanks to Budda for putting up with me bugging him while he was at work to toss around ideas, and for getting all the code in while I slept Current cave is on top, new cave lights are on the bottom. All lamps in view are lit. Current: New! Current: New!

As I mentioned in another thread (http://forum.wurmonl...100#entry648372), could hedges come in 3 sizes? Low, medium, tall. Lavender could stay at low. All other shrubs should be medium with Tree hedges reaching tall.

Well that stuff about them being soft in the belly is bunk. The trick is to distract them with a nice juicy looking player that is loaded up with Ipecac-laced wine.

It would have been smarter to have a contest without involving social media NOW along with this contest, just to prevent arguments. Instead, we have a contest for ingame items that REQUIRES you to join Facebook and Twitter to participate, so a lot of us are cut off from a WURM contest because we don't think social media a good idea.

We need something to easier identify who we are in a spar with. Good suggestions are: Orange outline when sparring/dueling Also, make it so the spar ends after a victor.

Most of the time on freedom, the nice Vets get tired after awhile and stop trying to enforce the rules for the rest of the day. I do see staff interrupt everynow and then when they are on and it gets serious aswell. Generally if u act badly people will start shouting at you. The main problem is GL-freedom where u get enough trolls to continue their own troll trolling another troll conversations. Here people sometimes just turn of Gl and go too regular kchat to talk. I would say this game is definetly NOT more lenient but stricter in a sensible manner. It just needs more regular people to step up and stop trolling on GL-kchat like they do in everything else in the game.

I got KoS'd on multiple deeds for mining into a copper vein off deed on Cele. Someone then came down and started building walls round all four sides of the mine entrance. Cele people are totally utterly bonkers. Avoid at all costs.

For some reason in Wurm people love to add random failure and extra complexity to every implemented idea.

Hi, since you've failed to read most responses to this thread that have likely answered everything you mentioned a few times, I'll just simply say these are idiotic ideas to something that can easily just be fixed - by removing this useless "feature".

I know the amount of available moderators is low on Epic, but the biggest problem faced has been a few recent chat agitators attempting to take advantage of the low mod count on epic. They will not be allowed to get away with it. Should you be offended by a chat rule violator, simply send a /support and the lines stated, they will be confirmed and the chat violator dealt with.

While I joke about being like this, I really don't understand the shotgun wielding "Git off my lawn!" approach to conflict resolution. The funny thing is, the people who behave like this tend to stay in-game. I mean the truly obnoxious folks generally leave once they've blacklisted themselves with a large portion of the player-base, but the "knee jerk" reactionary described by RomaN seem to hang around. For a game where you need some form of personal interaction to get things done, this just seems to be a counter productive outlook. Maybe a better solution would be to establish a formal progressive "How to Resolve a Conflict" process like RomaN mentioned, and leave the FCC as a "follow the golden rule" type guide. If you cannot resolve conflict yourself, then you reach out to /support. If you cannot follow the process, the first responders walk you through it (which I know a lot of the staff does now, even if no one realizes it) As it is now, it just seems like a lot of folks jump any manner of real conflict resolution, either because they cannot find who they need to talk to, unwilling to compromise, or just assume the GM staff is here to do the dirty work for them. I'm not saying this is true in this case or all cases, just in general. As a sandbox MMO, treat it like you do life, if you're one of those folks who calls the cops every time you see someone who "doesn't belong" in your neighborhood, eventually, you'll get treated the same way here, just like the boy who cried wolf.

The reason why we have chat rules is to protect players. If you don't believe that rules are being fully enforced then you should speak either to Enki (acting Head GM) or Wossoo (PR Manager,) they can both be messaged on these forums. Wurm, like the majority of online communities, takes the safety and security of its players very seriously. When reported, preferably via PM to a staff member or through a /support call, we will look into issues as soon as possible. I can appreciate that you are angry and frustrated, however, rant threads don't do Wurm any favours. Directly contacting an appropriate staff member can solve problems far quicker than waiting for one to find your thread! Thanks, Docterchese

Wurm is all about grinding your skills to be honest. Right now once you build your house and what you wanted it still the same thing: grinding your skills. Of course you could go build more things or help the community but it all comes down to your skills. Ive never understood people loving to "explore" in wurm because honestly theres nothing worth exploring out there. Maybe if you are new you will find it interesting but later on it becomes the same thing... Living alone can be fun and challenging at first especially if you have no fight skills and live on a server like exodus or chaos but again once you build up your things make food, the survival element pretty much goes away... As for the difference between freedom and epic. Well epic is really PvP focused. While it has increased skillgain so your skills go faster and a curve which means you will be able to create much higher QL items i dont think its a good idea to go there if you dont want to PvP because sooner or later your place will get raided, very strong creatures can spawn that go trough walls and are pretty much impossible to kill without a good group. Epic was made for people to catch up to the "veterans" and i still think its possible to do so, but dont expect to do it in a few months. As for freedom you could come to chaos which is a light pvp server. You can kill anyone and anyone can kill you but they cant really raid your deed or destroy your stuff. Also it doesnt have many people but its still more than on an epic server anyway... Oh and the rest of the freedom servers have no pvp or raiding. Wurm is still about how much time you are willing to spend grinding your skills.

Wow, Wurm is getting destroyed one graphic at a time. Low stone walls, just ugly. Please at least make door supports face the same way s windows and wall? That being said, Roofs look good, but cmon, the graphics are sharper for sure, but going backwards in the ways of visual aesthetics.

It's a perfect opportunity for you to gain some skills to. You can imp some items as high as you can get them, then someone else can take over to get them higher. It will take longer to make the items that way as high level crafters imp low levels VERY fast, but it's a community event about getting people working together, so speed isn't of the essence
