I made it, finally! Looks like Raamkozijn felt like photobombing the screenshot, too

Suggestion for the upcoming Wurm 1.0 enhancements. Trolls would need to produce a special hide when butchered. Regular trolls might drop a 6 kg hide, "Conditioned" trolls (fierce etc) might drop a 9kg hide, Chap trolls might drop a 16kg hide. Kind of a "poor man's drake," this armor would have all of the toughness of studded armor, combined with the lightness and speed of cloth armors. But unlike drake, you cannot imp it with regular leather but only with more trollhide. It would not be quite as "pretty"/polished/ornate in looks as as domestic leather armors but still look good.

It's a perfect opportunity for you to gain some skills to. You can imp some items as high as you can get them, then someone else can take over to get them higher. It will take longer to make the items that way as high level crafters imp low levels VERY fast, but it's a community event about getting people working together, so speed isn't of the essence

It's considered 100 in wurm, the harvest you get is 100ql. Even if you get it to 100.00 exactly, you won't see any change...

-1. No, -10. Fast travel is the first sign of 'dumbing down' and making a game easier to attract a larger client base.

The code of conduct listed here http://forum.wurmonl...ode-of-conduct/ is being persistently ignored here on Celebration (in fact, on other Freedom servers as well). A lot of these most basic courtesies tend to not be followed because there are no repercussions for failing to. As rules, these "guidelines" would be next to impossible to enforce. However, there is a rather vague section of the actual rules, as posted here http://forum.wurmonl...c/7-game-rules/ that needs clarification. "Griefing is any harassment such as, defamation of character (insulting their race, gender, creed, nationality or sexuality), continuous use of unfavorable emotes, or failure to abide to a GM instruction." Any harassment. Everything following "such as" is an example. If you would like to have less drama and more fun, please select yes.

Its that time of year again... rampant speculation of what Santa Rolf has in store for us once again. Ive been very, very bad so perhaps a few metric tons of 99ql coal?

As you can see in the image, four rare lamps all of which are 80ql and all have 70ql white dye on them. I have moved these to about 12 different locations; inside, outside, on deed, off deed, in a cave, at night, during the day in pretty much every combination, but they emit no light. They have the graphic of being on as if they should be but clearly no light is actually emitted as is best demonstrated by the image above. They worked wonderfully at 60ql, practically blinding halogen lamps lit up the darkest caves very nicely like bringing the sunlight inside so I wanted them to be ultra bright, my boyfriend imped them for me and now no light at all. Strangest thing.

With the addition of interior walls, we can now make realistic barns. 2x2 or 3x3 pens, etc, for chickens or your wild horse, or pregnant crododiles, whatever. Why not some half doors? =)

Your hardware probably wouldn't be able to handle all those additioal critter models anyway.

We have the pretty (and awesome!) tree and ground tile changes for the seasons. Would spawns changing also be that hard to do? Just curious, could be cool. Instead of Lava Spiders, Ice Spiders. Or Winter Wolves instead of Wolves, etc. Granted - some of these pics like the croc are albinos, but remember - we're talking Wogic. =)

A lunch box that fits one meal for no decay in inventory, or a no-drop keychain that can hold 10 keys are still highest on my list. That said, bugfixes please

And everyone fails to realize he is only at 99.995 and not 100. And that is still a long way to go...

Hmm but wouldn't it make studded armor useless, I mean trolls aren't that hard to kill with the help of tower guards so I don't think it will be difficult for players to get the hides. And if it's tough as studded and light as cloth, that will make studded armor quite useless. It might be better to make it as good as normal leather armor, but then I don't think trollhide armor would be useful.

Agreed, Wurm is a game that you invest time in. You don't just get on for a few months and be done with it, You have to put lots of time into it, even if that includes the travel times because the traveling is something that sets Wurm apart from many other games. Sorry but -1

My problem with threads like this is that you have two main issues, F2P usability, and player retention/conversion to premium. Often the latter is used as justification to change the former in a way that really only serves to make the F2P accounts better alt mules. Which leads to my "suggestion" which was not intended to be taken so seriously, just used to illustrate the point about the need to ensure the two accounts are kept different enough to ensure there is a use for the true F2P user, while not making them so useful to not need to go premium at some point or to be easily exploitable as free alt mules. So if we could set it aside at this point and move on please.. i feel like I inadvertantly trolled the thread... If you want to talk about how to retain customers or bring them back into the fold as it were; From a business side of things there are two prongs needed to begin to "attack" the player retention issues and upselling to premium: Most of the folks playing in the under 2 to 3 years mark started as F2P (edit insert:: many after F2P accounts could no longer use large carts or horses/cows to ride), so lets look at what Wurm did right to convert these people into long term players and paying customers. Reach out to those who no longer play (and possibly do not actively particpate in the forums) and ask them directly why they stopped and what would they like to see.changed to bring them back and possibly convert to a paying customer. Maybe offer them a referral they can give to friends who still play or use for themselves if the dev team are able to address the the player's issues with Wurm to see how things have changed. (This potentially gets them back in at little to no risk to themselves and builds a positive PR image) [since this would be a mostly manual process, it would be difficult to exploit without help of staff. This type of referral would be one to customer and transferable only once] We, the active players, can only say what we would like to see or think might address the issues. This may or may not cover the real issues (specifically for the F2P retention and driving the conversion to Premium) To get those, you need unfiltered communication with the target audience, non-paying accounts that are not alts for paying customers and not those who "know folks who...". No matter which way it goes, best of luck to everyone, this is a question of balance that has plagued the games industry for years... ::edit insert:: I apologize, I tried to let this portion go.. I really did... As I continue to say, the "suggestion" was a hyperbole, a point taken to an extreme, and not intended to be taken seriously. It was my failure to consider the buttons it was pushing and will avoid doing so again. As to F2P: Stop pitying them as some challenged lifeform. Take them hunting. Have them mine out rock shards for on-deed building, or digging dirt/terraforming coastal areas and pay them in silver or items or both. Show them that even though, yes they cannot do X,Y, or Z, that the grass is greener on the other side. Provide a sense of community, a reason for them to care about where they are and that even if they are limited in their growth ability, that you (as a community not ReaverKane specifically) will continue to embrace them as such. This is what happened to me when I started, and I went premium to deed the land I was working because those who were nice to me and supportive of me made me want to stay. One provided the nails for my first 1x1, beyond that all they did was chat with me about random elements of Wurm life and the weather. In turn, when I could, I spent my real world money on in-game coin, which I paid out in large quantity for small things to be done around my deed. Or for crops I could produce faster and in larger quantity at higher QL. Invest your time (and if possible silver) in those new players you claim to want to support. Sure, some will still leave, but you just might be surprised by how many stay. In my opinion, this is the biggest reason for the loss of players. We are all so full of ourselves that we've lost sight of what it means to be a new player. We get so wrapped up in our own little world/politics/drama, thinking we can solve the problems of the game if only they'd listen or "if we did this..." New players are walking into an "Old Boys" club, that if you don't fit in immediately, you get excluded. Or you buy your way in by purchasing a known account. Giving them more is fine, but there is a rot no amount of enabling will cure.

-1 but maybe someday +1 At this point, this is unnecessary. However, if Wurm somehow manages to get over 1,000,000 players and has over 50,000 islands, then yes we need some form of fast travel.

Traveling and exploring is a very important aspect of the world of wurm. Stumbling about long abandoned places with a neat huge old spider sitting behind a hedge..you would all miss it with fast travel. How fast travel can ruin a game shows GW2. landscape is nothing anymore, you just travel away, the spirit and the feeling for a game world is heavily damaged there. It would just damage WO too.

Well those aren't exactly titles, they are ranks, you don't see a general go around calling himself lieutenant either.

Should stay this way tbh, especially for starter deeds.

It's not just starter deeds, it's all deeds afaik. We couldn't capture some because of their location near other deeds. Personally I don't rule this a bug, conquering too close to a deed or starter deed is really unfair. 5 local ranges may seem small, but for noob exploring he'll easily stumble across it. If I were a JK noob and wandered out only 2 locals into enemy towers and died, I'd be pretty upset. I really would advise not changing the conquering distance for safety of newer players, but also because it seems fine as is. I don't think it conquering was designed to really take over towers at the doorsteps of a kingdom.

This will not happen. More different models = more memory usage = no support for older computers/gfx cards = bad. So, no.

It's funny that you should say that Wurm's Wikipedia page is a known concern, through the PR Team I'm working on re-writing it and it's due to be finished by the end of October. Citing the article is probably the biggest challenge - especially considering that a lot of old resources and references (such as the old Wurm website and blog) have been lost over the years. I'm hoping to at least triple the amount of information on the page - and once that's done it'd be nice to see it updated by others too under a new format. It is risky to do such a major edit - Wikipedia have the power to and do delete suspiscious edits. So I have to have lots and lots of cites from the word go x) If anybody does want to help then I recommend they get in touch with me, even some good screenshots would be appreciated

After skimming these trivial rebuttals I have come to the conclusion that all of you are a bunch of little girls. You argue about who was right or wrong in a game world with coded game rules that allowed an event to transpire. Doing so in a public forum is degrading to your own characters and is quite uninviting to new players. Either make a suggestion to the developers on how to improve the game, or accept whatever happened and carry on.

I would love to see and hear the following: -Different levels of rainstorm (Devil's Shower, Light Rain, Rain, Heavy Rain, Downpour) and in rain, heavy rain, and downpower hear rumbling thunder and see lightning strikes, with the occurance starting at 'light' with rain, moderate at heavy rain, and cosntant with downpours -Different levels of snow and snowing (Dusting with a barely noticeable coat on things, Snow with a few inches, Heavy Snow with a foot or two, and Blizzard with heavy wind and a LOT of snow with reduced visibility). I'd also like to see (with multistory buildings maybe) snow build up and slow movement and have to be cleared from tiles with a shovel -Differing levels of fog instead of just "Pea Soup" like light morning fog, light fog after rain, moderate fog, and heavy/thick fog like now -Hail (Can occur with heavy rainfall randomly)

I made this suggestion before: make it possible to "grab" items. A grabbed item would not be put in inventory, but remain in the world in front of you and react to your movements. This would make a lot smoother process than the push/pull stuff. Obviously you can't do any other action while grabbing something. It's possible for several people to grab some of the heavier things and move it. That way you can move it up stairs. You could also move it onto a cart or boat.
