I agree wholeheartedly with this statement. One of the main reasons I myself always come back to this game is the high ceiling, due to the number of skills and the time it takes to achieve things. On the pvp topic, I've never personally enjoyed pvp in this game, mainly due to the loss factors. With that being said though, give the Wilders back the full pvp that Wild once had. It will stand or fall on its own merit.

I've just started on this and it's my first time on this kind of online game. Professional gamer i'm not! Firstly, i've found the whole community darn amazing - really friendly and very very helpful. I haven't once been made to feel like an annoying new player. It's certainly helped having family and friends on here to help me along as well. Onto the topic title - I certainly need an Idiots Guide. With much amusement for my friends i have found my "gaming intelligence" to be rather somewhat lacking. 1st - I lost my spade. Panic stricken i looked and looked around and couldn't find it. 20 minutes of wondering why it had disappeared I, acciddently, looked down. Low and behold - the missing spade - at my feet! then - my spade went missing again. Another 10 minutes and, with help from my cousin, i found it in my inventry. I hadn't realised i could scroll down! (im not computer illiterate - honest!) Well it just got better! I went off mining and started to get attacked. I ran like mad back to safety. I was totally confused that my combat screen hadn't appeared, convinced i'd somehow deleted it. Guards hadnt come to help when i'd asked for help. After explaining to a friend that it said i was hurt, cus it flashed up i was, and i had a lightly scratched torso (major injury in my eyes) i was asked what the "monster" looked like. I said I didnt know cus i'd ran like the wind. he realised id actually just fallen, and had been running from absolutely nothing except an angry slope!!!!! Carts - i must be the only person that has taken over 4 hrs to make a small cart. I followed the Wiki instructions, but just couldn't get past the stage of unfinished wheel axles. id managed to make wheels, and attached to axles, but alas no further than that. Yet again online friends to the rescue. Every time i made a wheel i put it onto an axle. I was then trying to combine 1 wheeled axle with another wheeled axle. Common sense had obviously evaded me that each axle needs 2 wheels that share 1 axle. If nothing else in the first couple of days i have amused several people with my very blonde gaming antics, and one gamer has been reduced to tears of laughter! But im addicted and here to stay. Even dying at six o clock on the morning and waiting for over an hour for someone i knew to log on and help me hasnt put me off!!

I'd love to have these, as would, I imagine, anyone who builds a proper church to their deity. Shouldn't take much but scaling the statuette models and slapping on the stone texture. Nymph works passably well for Vynora, but there's not a great Mag or Fo statue stand-in. Material- and size-wise, I'd say the nymph would be an appropriate starting point. Thoughts?

Two minor suggestions. 1. Allow toggle on/off for meditation titles. 2. The kingdom title for Freedom seems unnecessary on a cluster where everyone is the same kingdom. Instead of displaying 'Freedom', make it display your alliance name. Would help Chaos to differentiate too.

Aspired by bears hibernation, how would you like the monster lairs to get deleted and randomly respawn around the globe every spring ? I'd like to see some new monsters close to my deed

Okami's fishing services I will find special fishing spots iron package 25c will bring you to location and leave you there suggest you bring a boat copper package 30c will allow you to fish on my rowboat with me will allow storage of fish inside the boat the use of a back pack and satchels inside will separate your catch from the others silver package 50c use of boat +5 replacement rods and meals gold package 75c use of boat 10 replacement rod and meals also will get 50% of what I catch the packages expect for iron are the cost for the first 1 hour after the first 1 hours the cost will be 10c per hour(Price may change after talking with customer) price is based on digging time how much money i would earn digging in that same amount of time fishing so its actually worth it for me to bring you fishing i did actually make it cheaper after the initial cost Warning just because its a fishing spot does not mean you will catch a special fish that depends on the QL of rod, your skill, time fishing, and luck but fishing spots are the only locations that special fish can be caught. and they change locations every season so old ones wont work

Quite simple, the layout we have now isn't very thoughtful. A string of islands, each progressively south of the other. Re-arrange the Freedom servers to be like Epic, with Indy in the middle and the others to each direction (N, S, E, and W).

I have never played PVP on Wurm, and if I had to list the reasons why, here they are: 1. Token draining. The fact that I can create a deed and dump real money into it, only to have a portion of that money stolen by a group of players better than me makes PVP not worth it. 2. Full looting. I hate the idea that a hunting trip on a PVP map could end up with me dead and my best gear forever lost. 3. Low pop count. The PVP maps are always pathetically low in population, perhaps because there are many who agree with me. 4. PVP pretty much demands village life. It is very difficult to survive without needing to be part of a village. But many who play Wurm do so because of the ability to surivive on their own. PVP maps should be more condusive to hermits. What would make me consider PVP in Wurm? 1. Remove deed draining. 2. Make spirit tempars worth their price. My personal opinion is that tempars should be stronger than any player could be, so that more than one player is needed to kill one. 3. Elimiate full looting. My suggestion would be to only allow inventory items to be looted. Anything worn on the body, including the contents of the backpack when worn, is safe from looting. That means armor, weapons, and bp items are not lootable. However, carts, boats, and items in the inventory would be lootable. The truth is this: Wurm takes time and money to play. PVP is not worth it because the reward is miniscule compared to the cost. It will never be worth it until this equation is inversed.

Thumbs up to your post I just wanted to tell you, if you ever think about comming over if pvp ever realy returns... Things on wild are a bit different in aspect of loss, since we depend on eatchother for survival. Once you prove yourself as a trusted allie and you do die and lose your armour/weapons, people will almost trow stuff at so you can be ready to fight another day. People rarely sell/buy from eatchother on wild (exept for realy special things) we usualy just give and receive.

I am not the grammar police by any means but it is a "moot" point not a "mute" point. The only reason I mention it is that this is not the first time I have seen it misspelt on these forums recently. I apologize for this pedagogic interruption, continue, please.

Re logging making sure you leave the world (upto 1 min) will fix the ghost floorboards in your inventory.

Hmm, it was bugging me, so I did some research: The cow looks pretty much like your common Red Holstein dairy cow. The Bull looks more like a Spanish Fighting Bull. It looks however like someone drew it from memory and wasn't so sure about it. That flat stomach and hour glass figure would be really unusual for any breed of cattle. The models might look really good, but they simply don't look right to me.

it would be really nice if bulls could wear shoes to help with speed and equipped with bags to carry crops from the fields.

even a non prem should have the ability to place 2 backpacks on a bull and be able to lead it around but at my farming skill(73) i like to carry a few back packs just to move the crops to the bins they are stored in. as far as shoes go horses can move upwards of 30km/h but bulls top out at 15km/h it would be nice to up the speed a bit on them( and yes i know that bulls are not meant to move as fast as horses) but they should be able to carry a load faster

So... I heard ya guys like google sketchup... Click on what you desire to download. Enjoy! (every single tile texture in max res + a roof texture for houses which isnt visible in the pic) (i cant extract the wooden gate properly for some odd reason) (a few ropes texture on the corbita and all ropes on the caravel are a wee bit messed up yet unnoticable unless you are really close) extract the texture pack folder in \Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 8\Materials import any of the model packs you need into the file you work with and just put them on the side of your project and copy objects when needed. All models are scaled for a 4m*4m tile world. If anyone know how to use PNG's alpha channels in sketchup id appreciate info on how to use em. Then i could add nature (like trees) and various other models that rely on it, like flags/banners for example. Oh and i'd like to thank Rolf for allowing the models to be used for sketchup
