No one plays a game when it's not fun any more.

You can make the text as large as you want, but that won't change the simple fact that a game is meant to be enjoyable.

Agreed. Why not just say "You must pay to play and have a deed and all servers are PVP now." because all these changes just make PVE so incredibly un-fun for newbs, people who actually leave their deeds and people who don't care about fighting, that we might as well just make it all Rolf's happy PVP game. Or never leave our deeds again.

I swear WurmOnline is just an insane psychological experiment, where they are testing how much it takes to get PvE-players to stop playing! Throw in some pretty things which we do love every now and then, just to drag out the pain... then let trolls bash fences, nerf guards, add sharks, make carnivors attack and eat "prey" (aka our cart/wagon-animals), and we are still waiting for the jumping and flying - in general make us all feel we have to live on heavily fortified deeds, locking animals inside when logging off, never leaving deed unless we "have" to, and low skilled players needing escorts while travelling.... yeah, sounds like amazing PvE-fun!

Congratulations, you finally succeeded in throwing out a patch where I can't even be bothered to log in and save my animals (hitched to carts and wagons, and not on deed when servers went down). There is just no point in adapting for me anymore, as it just becomes more and more obvious, that we aren't supposed to have fun when we play on PvE-servers. It is all supposed to be stress, chores, risk, risk and more risk - and the increasing worry about what they are going to throw at you next.

I wish you'd stop with your little PvE vs PvP tirade for one second.

Just so your clear, this change probably hurts pvp players more than pve players because now we can't ride out with our spare horses for fear of causing more trouble than its worth

Wait, so this ISN'T an april fools?

Do you devs even know that there are like 500 times more aggros than non-aggros out there and we need more non-aggros to fight, not less?

Do you PvPers know that the game will be closed down while you are still laughing about devs griefing their own paying players (PvE pays for 80% of the income after all).

All these things were good changes in my opinion, your not the only one who plays this game. Other peoples opinions also matter even if they conflict with yours.

Carnivors are starving next to each other, but you won't see a crocodile attacking a bear, or a troll attacking a crocodile. Instead they are now attacking hitched animals.

How on earth is a new player supposed to play now, if he can't use a cart to move around, because he can't handle a wild mob attacking his mounts? I'm only 2 fighting skill, and now locked inside my house, with an useless cart outside; can't carry resources to train my skills unless I use my inventory, but then why had I train my mind logic to be able to use a large cart?

Actually, I didn't mention PvP even once! I stated PvE, since that is what I (used to) play, and the only play style I am familiar with and have an opinion on. Since I have no experience with PvP at all, maybe you could tell me if your cart/wagon horses can normally be attacked by other players? Can they be killed if you have logged off outside a deed? This is game-changing for PvE, and I have no idea about PvP. I assumed your cart animals were at risk already.... and how the added risk affects PvP is not something I can speak about. But in general PvP-players seem to like risk - and many PvE-players (not all) dislike, if they don't even loathe risk to their virtual "assets".

But am I not allowed to express my opinion, or do you expect me to speak for you as well? You seem to do perfectly well on your own :)

Over the past 15 years or so of my online gaming "career", I've seen companies make some really dumb decisions, and then make dumber decisions on how to best implement it on the live servers.

This is one of them.  Quite high on the list too, the kind that makes one wonder "Are they trying to cull the player population?"

It would certainly appear that way, wouldn't it. After having my best 4 speed massacred in front of my eyes because I had no idea that untamed critters could be attacked, I'm told to hitch my critters to my cart and for the most part they'll be safe. Ok, great.

Now, I read that the cart creatures, such as bison, are going to be deliberately targeted.

Now, someone, somewhere, lacks some very serious customer service not to mention, reading comprehension skills.

So let me spell it out for you.

THINGS LIKE THIS DO NOTHING BUT PISS OFF THE VAST MAJORITY OF YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS?

Savvy?

If you woke up today and said, "Gee, how many people can we piss off today?" and went about trying to find the answer to that question, you couldn't possibly do a better job than you just unintentionally did with implementing something this ungodly stupid. FFS, really. Pull your heads out of your rears whilst you still have a playerbase.

One question. Will trolls break fences just so they can kill the horses and bison?

She's as entitled to post her opinion as you are.

When a developer decides to belittle a players opinions, instead of being neutral and considering it fairly as a valid viewpoint, you've lost credibility as a person we can trust to make good judgements.

That's just my opinion, and I'm entitled to it.

the creature AI thing actually was.. suggested at certain point on suggestion forum. The respond was mix but people seems interested on witnessing says.. lion vs wolf combat. So don't think have to blame anyone.. just lets see for few days if it is indeed cause more annoyance than looking interactive, we asks it to be changed back?

I don't mind the changes, but the implementation of this was just poor. There was no warning that this was going to happen. It just happened. People's animals are dead suddenly. There are people considering quitting the game even. All because you couldn't even mention that this was going to happen beforehand.

The problem with that approach is we'd have already lost potentially many animals.

The odd one or two here and there is bad enough, but I'm still concerned about a troll getting onto a deed with horse pens.

My opinion conflict with yours. I cannot help but have the urgent desire to start looking for another game.

Have fun!

PVE stands for Player VS Environment not for Players Without Dangers.

PVE should not be easy. FFS this IS A SURVIVING GAME.

I am yet to die in this frigging game. Why? Because I played smart - I chosen my targets wise, I remembered to travel lightly so I can out run mobs, I remembered to never get on low than 50% hp. I also scouted the area to know where the closest tower or templar is. I hired a templar on my little deed and I also built a guard tower. I keep my horses on deed in a double fenced pen (because you know ###### happens) - and those pens are not on deed edge so if a troll gets in he will be attacked by templar before he bashes my fences.

Just don't expect to can go and afk or leave your cart in the middle of nowhere, near aggressive animals and don't worry about it. Just don't expect to have impenetrable deeds where noone will ever get in and where you never have to repair anything. Stop asking everything to be handed to you on a silver platter and actually learn to play the game smart and to prove that you are the fittest if you want to survive.

One again - great change. Totally support it!

Bad change in the worse time possible for the game..

I wonder if the suggestions committee had a hand in this and now we see if it's biased.......

Just saying

The issue lies in not asking for new silver platters or more silver platters, but rather that the silver platter that had been placed there and was behaving as it always had behaved suddenly doing something different and unexpected and pretty much implemented with no announcement.

Without warning my hitched and untamed bison were attacked twice in 5 minutes just moving between deeds, in my opinion this does not weigh up against seeing some critters attack each other. This is just yet another unnecessary annoyance that got ninja'd in without warning and without reasoning. If people want to see animals fight perhaps watch the nature channel.

Seriously +1. And considering that poster claims to never leave thier deed anyway and they've only been here for, as they claim 20 or so days, it's not even relevant.

You are new, you might have forgotten this: Don't expect to be able to leave the deed with your cart, and make it home with them alive again, since you never know when there is going to be a patch (but sometimes you get a 10 minute warning), or how fast you can get back online after the servers get back up. (and if you haven't researched that part yet, they used to unhitch when servers came up, so some of us do remember playing like that - but back then we knew. Today we didn't.)

My opinion is that a developer would be wise to remember who pays their salary and act accordingly in a PUBLIC forum.

Expressing your opinion is fine. Bashing your customers is not. Get a clue.

For me, that they thought it was a good idea at all is reason enough for me to demand a revert.  This was a ridiculously terrible change.  How does this change in any way improve the survival aspects of the game?  It doesn't.

That it happened without adequate testing and quality control makes me really hope they have a backup of before the change.  I would give up all 9 and a half pottery levels I gained yesterday to get rid of all traces of this change.
