And how do you want to prove it?

I also can say you did it. I know you, you are a ddoser so how shall I prove that?

Logs of things. Think about conversations, email exchanges, that kind of stuff. It probably wouldn't be evidence that directly causes the conviction, but it would probably be a big help.

Only a really really really stupid attacker would communicate about such things via email, the most insecure method of communication. And logs? Well if there are logs of IPs or something like that which lead to the attacker I would laugh my head off. Nobody is so stupid.

 

DDOS is if you do it right, which it isn't too hard, completely undetectable as long as you don't belong to the NSA. And I am pretty sure even the NSA would have troubles finding a good attacker.
