Doesn't work.

 Works fine for me you might need to be more specific.  How is it not working does it freeze up, does it not launch, are there any errors in your "Error Log" in the files?  Just saying "Doesn't work" does not tell him anything useful to even begin to help you.

It froze, it's back.


 


I'm building this, but I can't add floors or roofs, why not?

Make a writ for the building. There is a tab named "writs" name the building if you want and press new then click on the tiles you want the building to be.

Click on the "writs" tab then on the top left click "new writ" then click the tiles you want the building to be you will see a green highlight around the tiles

A major feature that I feel is lacking currently is some sort of pan and scroll functionality. right now, it can be difficult to fit things on screen. Also, is there a reason that there's an arbitrary limit of 25x25 minimum? A lot of deeds are the default 11x11 and on small screens, 25x25 doesn't even fit anyway.

You have scroll functionality, see in settings. ;)

Smaller maps are not allowed, but you can edit just fragment of the map. :)

I've never made a house before so sorry if I'm just annoying people with stupid questions, but is there a way to make a flat roof? The house style I want is pretty large so when I put roofs down the roof goes extremely high

Well you can build just floors in the center where you want the roof to stop but you wont get that open roof look inside the house.

There is an old bug that I had for some time: the mousewheel, whether used alone or with the Ctrl key, is doing different things on different machines. On my office machine under XP it zooms in and out the main 2D view. On my home machine under Windows 7/64, it is scrolling the cursor on the left pane where we choose Walls, Ground, etc., and I cannot zoom in/out on this Win7 machine. Maybe I messed something up somewhere, but then I'd like to know how do I fix this.

First off, fantastic bit of software, however it can be dangerous to use as every time i fire it up i find i'm going to need higher and higher carp/masonry!


 


On a serious note though, i would love the ability to copy and paste a selection of tiles from one location on the map to another, including all of the roof/ground/walls in the copy & paste. This would allow us to copy and paste whole buildings or sections of buildings as i know when designing a building i'm always chopping parts out and moving others around.

This depends on what you had choosen in settings window. ;)

Version 1.7i released! Changes:

  • all tree types now have three variants: small, normal and big
  • dynamic texture loading - program startup now is many times faster than before
  • program startup crashes should be fixed
  • new config file format - reset of all program settings

What a difference the large trees make to the 3d view it really looks good. Only thing I can see so far is a stretched texture on at least the large maples but still they are really good even with that.

Found a little bug when you put clay down and save the map when it reloads it shows as cliff. It is an old bug but I am just now seeing it because it looks so close to the same texture as clay it is hard to know.  


 


Edit: Also the trees are and have been kind of hard to delete on right click for me if there was a way that you could make them a little easier to remove that would be great.

yes it works fine for me maybe you should try to start with a fresh install? Just make sure your save maps are not deleted when you do.

I have a few older versions when it was just the house planner that still work, I downloaded the newest one and tried that, no dice.

I'm still using an older version (1.7h) but can't get further than the update window, telling me that a new version is available. As soon as the update window appears the program freezes and can only be stopped by force.


 


I don't want to update at this moment, due to the errors reported - but I can't run the old version either due to the frozen update window. What can I do?

You can disable checking for new version manually, by changing true to false in Properties file. By the way, info log is valuable source of informations for me in case of program startup bugs. :)
