Started The New Chaos Code

Recommended Posts

Pretty much what i was thinking. move hunters lodge to the NW, allow freedom to get a grip onto the chaos server. Having the main spawn point for new people right next to the hota area (the most contested area of the map) is only harming the new population coming onto the server because they're pretty much thrown into the middle of a battle field.

Yeah, spawning in the middle of the map is nice for most Freedom servers, but spawning in the middle of the map when 3 other kingdoms are around...

Once pristine and release are due for connection, putting them west of chaos might be a good idea.

Would certainly love to have a freedom border i don't have to sail for over an hour to reach haha.

Pristine and release on the west side of Chaos would be awesome, but of course would need to be linked to another freedom server so people arent forced to cross a PvP server.

The "passing a pvp server" bit would kinda be the point to keep it semi separate from the rest of the cluster, would allow for a more gradual connection.

Lets not force freedomers on a pvp server by separating release/pristine from the rest of the PVE server by having a PVP server in the middle.

Please.

Why not something like this?

Freedom%20border%20crossing.png

  • Chaos in the middle, but arguably in a well suited position for this case
  • PvP is closer to everyone that wish to give it a try
  • Trade routes are closer in some cases (Indi to Cele as an example)
  • All servers reachable within 2 crossings from any map
  • Don't want pvp, you can by pass it and still reach another server in 2 crossings
  • Western Chaos can finally have decent access to other servers
  • Every single server has access to Either Pristine or Release
  • Promotes a more Spherical world by the fact that travel is connected in a near circular pattern

**Server placement could be moved around depending on popularity or population.

Forgive my boldness, but I fail to see a downside to this proposal :)

I'd love that, and not because Chaos would be in the middle, but the fast that every server has multiple ways to get to different islands. Would be awesome to see that happen.

Yeah, I really don't like how all the islands are basically a string now. Annoying as heck for someone who wants to travel.

I wouldn't scramble the current layout too much, my idea looks like this:

cluster.png

Align chaos and old freedom to scale.

Add Pristine and Release west for a semi connection through Chaos.

Add a new pristine cluster for another fresh start for another wave of new players.

Later Add a new isle at 1 to make a full non PvP connection.

Join the new pristine servers when they are due.

add isles at 2 and 3 when appropriate.

Optionally: connect some of the outer borders when appropriate.

That would only create the same complaints of years ago which is weekend warriors on chaos... getting into and out of chaos should not be made simple... as of right now of I sail east of chaos I end up on deli... bit u have to travel north I believe from deli till u reach Indy to which at that point you can then come back over into chaos by sailing west... in my opinion prestine and release should just be added in the same line deli to Indy is in making the trip back and forth in and out of chaos longer and harder.... making sire weekend warriors does not become an option.

It's all because of spy alts. Yup. Every single new player is just a spy alt.

Gratz! you got the bump everyone else did after V1.0 ;)

The trick like most servers is going to be to keep those numbers.

That is still small number of people for a server so big. Good luck.
