Traditional Christmas Impalong 2012

Recommended Posts

Silvir and I left the game about 5 or 6 months ago but I kept my head set on returning for Impalong again. Some of the best fun I have had in any game in a long while, though I see my 3 legged stool may be remembered long after I am gone...

What is this 3 legged stool about?

I would love to sail up to Indy for this, unfortunately I don't have any high skills yet, and I don't want to sit there and feel lame imping stuff to ~30 ql :P

I would absolutely love to help with this though. Maybe I can bring you guys a few thousand peat if you still need it? I also have loads of low ql tools/weapons that could be imped and given away to whoever needs/wants them, though I'm sure you guys will have no shortage of those :P

As you all know, there is a superb, super shiny prize this year of '1 newbie account comes with a full year premium already added'. To win this prize we will be holding a tournament game of Checkers/Draughts. For anyone out there that is not aware of this game feel free to take a peek at this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_draughts

So how do you enter I hear you say... well you post a reply in my forum post. All we need is your player name and what time zone you usually play so we can organise you all into sub groups and that you would like to enter the Checkers Tournament.

Winner of each round will go forward into the next round of games, eventually leaving us with the best 2 checkers players fighting it out to win the amazing prize. We are in talks to get some of these games put out on a live stream so even if you do not want to enter or cannot make it down to Festival Cove this year you can still join in the fun.

watch this space for more....

Just make sure theres plenty of high QL ore.... neeeed ore :P

Ill try not to win too many events, i know some people wanted my head after Aly's Halloween event with me cleaning up every 2nd place prize :P

Ill be heading up on the 18th i suspect, itll be nice to see indy and my old deeds after not returning after leaving for pastures new, if anyone needs a ride from Celebration or anywhere along the way please message me in the forums and ill do my best to accommodate you, only real issue i can see will be timezones when picking people up. Tell your friends... the Dreaded Stonewood Fleet Returns :P

The Ghosts of Impalong Past

Last year, Trystant and I left our deed, the first time in 10 months, since finding Wurm. We left to experience Impalong and help out where we could. Trystant packed his blacksmithing tools and I grabbed my carpentry tools and we headed out on what seemed like a very long journey south. Upon arriving at Festival Cove, the gracious Willow gave us access to the Blacksmithing area and the Carpentry area and lead the way.

First stop was the Blacksmithing area. A HUGE building, with 70+ quality forges lining the walls, Beautifully carved signs indicating which stations performed weaponsmithing, blacksmithing and armorsmithing. BSBs filled to the brim with metal and kindling and peat. Plush carpets on the floors and catered meals in a huge tub for all to eat. Very impressive. Trystant took his spot in front of one of the forges and began to work.

Eagerly waiting to be escorted to the carpentry area, I patiently waited. Willow then says - the carp area is over there, and points. I guess I was going to find my own way.

I exited the Blacksmithing area, looking for the magnificent carpentry area. After walking around and through no less than 40 snowmen, I saw a very small building with a rusted sign on it that said Carp..... (I later figured that it was a misspelling and meant to say Crap.) !! I entered the building I was going to spend the next 7 days in. Blink!

The building was 6 tiles large. It was furnished with one BSB (at least there was a log in it), one damaged large cart and a coffin. Maybe I should have been a blacksmith. Beginning to feel a bit hungry, I looked around for the food. Willow said there should be some by the token. I hiked halfway across the deed, dodging rats and zombies, to find a small barrel with mostly rotting meals in it. I reached all the way down for an edible one and headed back to the Carpentry area.

I positioned myself between the cart and the coffin and began imping. Soon I was joined by Thorgot and Zivirt who managed to squeeze in the building with me. After choking on sawdust for a few days, applying farmer's salve on our splinters and putting the wheels back on the dilapidated cart, we begged for at least a chair to sit on. In no time flat, Uisge delivered to the 3 of us ONE quality 3 stool so that we could rest our weary bones. Tripping over the zombie and rat corpses, we all scrambled to get to the stool. Thorgot won, Zivirt and I cried.

I knew I should have worked on blacksmithing this year!
