Posted August 1, 2012 Just a reminder that the web server will be down between 10:30pm CEST today until 7:30am CEST tomorrow. In case you wish to play during this downtime you should start the client before and log on the game servers, which will not be affected:The start of operations at our innovative and energy-efficientdata center park in Nuremberg necessitate a restructuring ofour infrastructure. This will enable us to continue to provide you with a reliableand high-performance management of your servers and accounts. We are therefore planning to move servers from their currentlocation in Falkenstein to our newly commissioned data centerpark in Nuremberg during the night of 01.08.2012 to 02.08.2012.This means these services will not be available from 10.30Â pm CESTto approx. 7.30 am CEST (max). So as to prevent the loss of any data and to minimize thewrite/read access to the hard disk drive, the network will bedisconnected from 10.15Â pm onwards. As soon as normal operations have resumed at the new location, all servers will be checked for functionality. You can check the current CEST time here if you live elsewhere.Wossoo (Poseidon@wurmonline.com)View the full article

Posted August 1, 2012 I knew this was happening and yet I had trouble finding out where it was posted. A topic named "Lag gone!" - not really fair to call that your two weeks notice.Unfortunately the login servers seem to be down as well, so even though I have the client I can't log in. Guess I'll play tomorrow, hopefully with the sleep bonus you guys promised in that one topic with the really obscure name. No need to search for it, it's really there. Posted August 1, 2012 I'm not addicted to Wurm! 10+ hours of downtime? Pfft! Piece of cake! Not a problem! *Starts chewing on the edges of her favorite blankie as she curls up sweating, twitching and shaking in a corner.

Posted August 1, 2012 I knew I set the alarm clock this morning for a reason. Alarm went off, I woke up, rubbed my eyes said out loud "Why did I set my alarm, I have nothing to do today." Rolled over went back to sleep, woke up 2 hours later grabbed my tea, sat down at the laptop, clicked on wurm... No launch... Looked at the computer as if I was scooby doo... Went to wurm site, opened up this article and went: I instantly remembered why I had set the alarm to go off.

Posted August 2, 2012 Methinks this is a sign that logging into the game and the webserver should not be inter-dependent. D:
Posted August 2, 2012 (edited) I just logged into the game?A fluke window of opportunity or are they done early? Edited August 2, 2012 by Brash_Endeavors

Posted August 2, 2012 See, sometimes it pays to sit there mashing that button even when you know its useless, "just in case..."sounds like what people do when a beta's login server goes down / 2 hours before it's even supposed to be up
Posted August 2, 2012 Something went wrong while handing out the 5 hours of sleep bonus I'm afraid.
Posted August 2, 2012 Well the game servers would have had to go down for that or at least be inaccessible for more than 5 hours or something... (this is an opinion not a promise for future downtimes)
Posted August 2, 2012 In all seriousness it would be just the thing to make up for lost game time in the future. The system currently only hands (or is supposed to hand out) sleep bonus when there's a crash or something like that I believe.
