Posted July 23, 2012 seeing as we have lots of sand, what about the addition of glass jugs and cups?other crude glass items.
Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) Glass windows? put them in your windows so it stops people shooting in at you? This is really great idea, just put sand in the furnace and it turns to glass,+1 Edited July 23, 2012 by RipPeralT
Posted July 23, 2012 I don't see what the actual purpose of this would be. Ofc, we could have retorts and reflexes and things to start distillation and chemistry/higher alchemy, but I'm not sure that fits with Wurm technologically.
Posted July 23, 2012 Chemistry as a complement to magic would be neat, but a pretty low priority item.Glass sounds awesome, but I'd place it pretty low on the priority list too.Anyway, I like the suggestion. +1.
Posted July 23, 2012 I've always liked to see glass implemented as a small functionality-oriented feature, such as basic alchemy as a complement to divine magic and/or as pottery alternatives when it comes to containers. Adding glass crafting options across the skill board (carpentry, smithing, jewellry, shipbuilding, whatever) just for the sake of creating uses for sand would be a bad idea and a waste of time however. Posted July 23, 2012 Glass windows would still be cool... they could decrease decay in houses compared to ordinary "holes in the wall?" And it isn't against existing Wurm technology either... the Romans (~0 AD) had glass and they weren't the first!
