Posted June 8, 2017 As in the title, I have an interesting issue that I cannot seem to fix, but I feel like it is extremely simple/easy to... I just recently assembled a new computer, and the entire time I've played Wurm on it I've been unable to open a posted chat link in my browser via the "open in browser" button. The only way I can open links from chat is if I copy/paste the URL instead, which is annoying. My browser(Firefox) and Java(64-bit) are fully updated; any ideas? Posted June 8, 2017 (edited) Do you have a default browser set? If not, maybe wurm doesn't know which program to use to open the link. Also, is there anywhere in Wurm settings to choose a browser to use? I've never had this problem so never actually looked. Posted June 8, 2017 Yes it is set as my default browser. And I didn't see any options for such things when checking through the Wurm settings but I could be blind and not see it
Posted June 8, 2017 (edited) fix your http handling, (default programs.. and choose or re-set your browser to be sure.. that it opens http links) start - run - this.. Quote explorer.exe shell:::{17cd9488-1228-4b2f-88ce-4298e93e0966} -Microsoft.DefaultPrograms\pageDefaultProgram Spoiler ---edit 1 way to quickly check if it's windows or java/client related... start -> run -> http://google.com/ if that opens firefox with google.. windows settings are ok.. it's something with the client. (no clue than lol) Edited June 8, 2017 by Finnn

Posted June 8, 2017 I use Win10 so was a bit different navigation but I made sure Firefox was still set to default. Still can't open links though unfortunately... Any other ideas besides Rocky's unuseful and unnecessary answer?
Posted June 8, 2017 Have you tried setting Microsoft Edge as default browser to see if it works with that?
Posted June 8, 2017 what happens if you type a http url in start>run ?
Posted June 8, 2017 Did you install Wurm first or Firefox first? If you installed Wurm before firefox, it might be worth uninstalling then re-installing Wurm. And unuseful and unnecessary is basically the definition of rocky/sila.
Posted June 9, 2017 I'd had Firefox installed before Wurm. Here is a plot twist though, it appears to be working just fine now for some reason!... So thank you all for the assistance, we will wait and see if it continues to behave
