New Wall Types

Recommended Posts

Just adding some more wall types to Wurm would make so many more dynamic looking deeds.  Seen a lot of creativity with what we currently have and having more wall types would be awesome.

 

Being able to use the pillars with houses would be nice too.  Hold them ceilings up.

I would love these new wall types but I would also like to have Half wall versions for dividing rooms and stables instead of fences.

How do you mean. like stone walls - but a wall type so can have one for each material?

and stable doors (half height)?

Big phat +1!

The marble slab and slate slab are great ideas in terms of look, but imho, seem like it would be decorative more than structural.  ie. add a slab to a built wall, or require several types of components the way spiral stairs require both brick + plank.  Just a thought/impression, love the idea either way.

+1 Light Stone touches on it but id love to see sandstone. Sandstone would have to be added to the game but I'd love sandstone walls and sandstone fences XD \o/

Sandstone tiles/cliffs/gullies etc would be a lovely addition to the game as well as all the building components that would then be harvestable from them!

Sorry, i wasnt very clear. I meant half height walls of each material. Currently if you wanted to lets say divide a Kitchen area in a house, the only choices are to wall it in completely, or use ugly low stone fence. It would be awesome to have wall types that were half as high so you can show some separation between rooms but still have a bit of a open floor plan. Stable doors would be a bonus for the doors, but I was talking about timber frame walls of half height to separate the stables in a building.

How about adding actual windows to underground dwellings as well, that should not be hard to do.

I think though to be careful that the versions are fitting to the historic period of the game.

 

As an example-  picture #1 of the bricks looks very much like modern bricks.  Not what I would expect to see in the middle of Wurm.  A more period-appropriate type of brick - sure.

you will find there are facets of this game that are not period correct, for example the caravel wasn't around until the mid 15th century, so realistically it shouldn't be in game, because it's not "period correct"
