Dioptra (Material Type)

Recommended Posts

There is a note already on the page that states "The dioptra uses 0.025 kgs of bronze lump to improve.".  Would this suffice for the time being?  We don't have a category yet for bronze items as they're currently categorised under the blanket of "blacksmithing items" like all other blacksmith products.

I'll add to our list to maybe sub-categorise blacksmithing items by material type, this would be part of a project in the future.

Thanks

Marni

Bwg,

No, because it uses multiple material types.  Both brass and bronze is mentioned.  Assuming your reading the wiki, which one is it?

There is no mention of what material type the item ends up in.

Example.

The shafts are wood.

The protractor is made of brass.

The sight is made of bronze.

The compass is made of clay

I would love to see it say what the end product's material is made out of.

There's a line at the bottom of the notes section.

I'll make it more prominent though.

I've updated the dioptra to include a non-announced secondary use.

Enjoy.

I'm confused. In-game dioptras are always bronze from what I know. The posted image above from a dioptra is proof of that, however the question here is what its material type is supposed to be? It may have sub components that aren't bronze but the end result is bronze, obviously. Is this more of a request to basically say "finished dioptras are bronze and so are improved with a bronze lump"?

For now I'll make a note of that on the page, but if it is considered unnecessary it should be removed.

Slickshot,

Awesome, thank you for clarifying that!

Although some items may seem obvious to us.  I try to look at it from the point of view of someone who is researching this particular item for the first time.

Good I'm glad that helped. Feel free to mark this as done in the title.
