Hot Food Cooking: Maximizing QL & Increasing Difficulty

Recommended Posts

So I have looked all over Wiki and a fair bit through forums without examining every page of threads after searching for "Cooking", "HFC", and "Hot Food Cooking".

Anyways... My question is simple..

I am at 73.37 Base | 92.91 Effective Hot Food Cooking on the Epic Servers, which means I can cook a meal at max QL of roughly 93QL.

However using 80QL Frying Pans & 90+ Veggies in a forge at 55 Difficulty my meal's range from 65QL to 89QL, and average around 74QL.

Is there any known difficulty's higher then 55?

According to Wikipedia -10 skill = Difficulty (or something like that) which would mean I need to make Difficulty 83 Meals...

Do those even exist?

My meals currently consist of x1 Cooked Meat, x1 Corn, x1 Onion, x1 Garlic, x1 Salt, x1 Pumpkin, and x1 Potato cooked in a Forge for +10.

I tried adding alchemy stuff into meals, double veggies, cheese, everything I had in my FSB to increase difficulty higher and could not..

Any tips?

-Thank you

Note: I'm not looking for tips on skilling HFC, but simply for maximizing my QL as I'm generally  cooking 20 meals at a time for an entire village.

To max ql you'd want the LOWEST possible difficulty, wouldn't you?

To get high ql meals, you need to go for lowest difficulty possible - meat/filet + onion, cooked in an oven.

lol that would kinda make since... Now that I've already posted a thread about it.. =P.

Figured a meal was caped at "X" QL unless it was of "X" Difficulty.

She needs the lowest difficulty, not to increase it :) so no coins, nails, kelp, gems or other spices :P

I may use nail trick when it comes to skilling again =P..

Generally just do x1100 pans with 1 Filet 1 Corn for fast gain and minimum crop usage.

But if adding a nail gives me bonus skill in that situation.. Then Heck yes!

Bad thing is, nails decay in pans, better to use coins if you plan to leave them in the pans on long term

But nails you can spam by thousands in very short time with a speedy anvil.

Sure coins last forever but is a real pita to get the amount to fill even a forge.

Nails prob would be easier only do to how fast I can make them =P.

Decay does suck.. but easier then pulling coins from the bank.

My Skilling station is 4 Forges with x7 Backpacks in each forge with x37 pans per backback.

So filling a nail into all those is going to be a slight pain =P. but it's just 1 more ingredient in my pan filling.. (which would hopefully last a few weeks before decaying)

With the amount of iron coins you get from praying, it's really not difficult to get thousands of them to put in pans if you're so inclined, I have 3200+ iron in my satchel and that's from maybe 2 weeks of prayer

or:

[22:53:25] You withdraw 4 iron from the bank.

Edit:  takes about 12-15 minutes to get 1000 iron coins this way.

I am trying to get meals at my HFC level of 70.6.  Here's what I tried today:

Oven: 70.95ql

Frying Pans: 10 all above 70ql at an average of 70.55, and 2 rare frying pans at 77ql and 71ql.

Ingredients: 1 83.96ql cooked meat and an 87.81ql onion (this combination makes a 22 difficulty meal)

All of the meals came out at 67ql with the exception of the two rare pans at 69ql.  Is there another factor that I am missing?
