Garlic is done rakes ql 1 to 95. In steps of about 10 ql.

I have planted rice and will do the same with it within a few days.

Total skill gain reports would benefit from including things that boost skill gain size: COC, Vynora follower (does one need to be Vynora domain?), active sleep bonus, path of knowledge-Intellect of the Enlightened, nutrition, and **Are there others**? I'm assuming you were never near 0% stamina either. Skill gain size is directly proportional to action duration as long as you don't hit zero. Thus, you don't need to worry about action duration.

Good job, you've got very detailed work here. I don't want to discourage you or try to change things. but looking at tick or gain frequency would be better.  A problem with the various forums of total skill gain is your indirectly including all the complications with skill gain size. Also, using frequency should normalize out any complication associated with the: tick size versus skill level diminishing returns curve.

Farming skill, rake quality, likely rake skill (but for testing purposes it is inseparable from farming skill) -VERSUS- crop difficulty. This relationship will decided how often you get a tick. We want to find the combinations that maximize the tick frequency.

I have been sure to have 99% nutrition with a refresh before starting on this 190 fields.

No enchanted rakes used,  Fo domain.

About stamina i have done actions so stamina didn't run out but queued from 2to 6/8 fields depending of rake ql and stamina loss.

Also made sure no other skillgain actions was done before and while this fields is worked on.

Your control is solid. What you're doing isn't entirely wrong, although you may be drawing the wrong conclusions from the information you're extrapolating. The information you're providing is excellent if your intention is to determine the differences in difficulty for crops. (If there are any, I hope you prove it one way or another with these tests.) With this information you've provided, everybody should very easily be able to graph the accumulated information to determine difficulty of a crop merely by where the sweet spot is in relation to your current Farming skill. (In garlic's case, that sweet spot is 45ql Rake, watch how the gains across the board decline as you get further away from the sweet spot.) Despite what many people assume - The RNG in this game is actually extremely consistent (Almost predictable.), so if the graph curves, it makes a great estimation. Given the ridiculously high skill level of your farmer, there is no way you can skew the information by gaining skill too fast in relation to the large scale studies you're done.

TL;DR For the people having trouble understanding what this means:

This information is good stuff. We can use it to determine crop difficulty. Tools with sweet spots using lower QL rakes, have lower difficulties. Tools with sweet spots using higher QL rakes, have higher difficulties. This can be used to conclusively prove which crops have higher difficulties than others.

However, if you're doing this test as a way to determine the fastest skill gain. You'll need to expand the parameters you're testing for. As Joedobo said, tick frequency, skill gain per hour, and average skill gain (Though we can get that ourselves with total gain divided by attempts) are helpful for determining the "best" crops to grind on. (Although your information may prove the theory that Farming is exactly like Mining, with no variances in skill gain per tick between crop types, with it being reliant entirely upon the difficulty:skill ratio, with ticks only coming for hidden 1 - 39 rolls. Meaning that the sweet spot is more important, and crop type/crop difficulty becomes only important for controlling your sweet spot.)

If you aren't using it in your tests already, I suggest using a log parsing program like EXP Calculator.

Keep up the good work. I look forward to your future findings.

Thank you, made this more for myself , curiousity of crops difficulty, rice and garlic have seemed to be hardest.

Wanted to compare those 2, Not fastest skillgain, just to see if those 2 have a difference and to get the best data

need to use different rake QL,s , think its enough do it in ql 10 jumps with rakes.

Now you made me curious about how corn are compared to rice and garlic.

Dairuka and Joedobo nice feedbacks.

1 st of 5 days with reed started.

Interesting is that got highest farm skill gain with ql 1 rake with reed.

QL 1 Rake:

Rice highest    0,003052

Garlic highest  0,002785

Reed               0,005844

Corn                0,004196

Strawberries    0,002586

Pumpkins        0,003250

will see by time where it leads.

Reed done and ended, will do 1 more day with ql 1 rake, to see the gain again, because it was

the best so far for farming skillgain with farmskill 98.

My farming skill 98,58 , rake 92,94 , starting every day for farming with a refresh.

So the numbers i show is with 99% food, water, nutrition.

Did a last check with reed and QL 1 rake, still very good gain 190 fields as usual.

Gained farm skill 0,004280.

Time to rearrange the reed fields to corn.

Enjoy.

Started 55 days with corn, links in first post.

Low amount harvested because all sowed at the same time, therefore will be a lot next time, i assume.

Started with pumpkins.

From start i was curious on garlic and rice , but well i will go through all kinds of crops.

Im afraid the skillgain may change when i pass to 99, so i assume the numbers not really adequat, may give hints though.

I noticed that the nature skillgain is lower with pumpkins, i wonder why.  Compare with strawberries and pumpkins.

I first thought it was because i passed nature 90 , but i did that before i began with pumpkins.

Any ideas ?

Parent skill uses the same difficulty check, but ignores tool ql (and coc). So at 90 nature, pumpkins with their low difficulty are terrible, while high difficulty crops (onion/strawberries/garlics/rice) are pretty good.

For farming you can use a low ql rake bringing your effective skill from 90 down to like 45, which makes low difficulty crops still give nice skillgains.

Did you look at my first post in thread, thread ?

I guess would have linked it.

the strawberries gain :

https://www.dropbox.com/s/yqpf1l57iutcvx2/strawberries.xlsx?dl=0

the pumpkins gain:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/axhwjftnvmwrb9f/pumpkins.xlsx?dl=0

So you say its only because of the low difficulty on pumpkins this difference occurs ?

The tick rate % depends only on your skill and crop difficulty, yes (for parent skills, which don't check the rake ql).

Tick size of course depends on the timer and your skill, so rake ql (and woa) does come into play here, indirectly.

We should be careful about pulling things from WU and assuming they apply to WO. I'm guessing that is where you got this.

Rake quality definitely brings down effective farming skill but I've yet to see something (not counting WU code) that would let us specifically express the relationship between skill and rake quality.

I made this calculator from WU and often it doesn't add up with WO (tho I'm a noob so probably made some mistakes).

also, thank you for doing this Moogien. I still wish you had skill tick frequency in there but I know that figure is harder to record.
