ive tried updating java and my system just wont accept it. as its says its already installed. not sure what to do.

I think u are using 32bit java on a 64bit OS.

If right Install 64bit java. And make sure wurm uses it.

ALSO try disabling FBO and GLSL.

I tried using the unstable client.  It kept lagging out, and reloading.  Figured I would post this here to see what the issue is since I hear this will become the stable client at some point.  I need to know how to make it work.

There is nothing you can do to correct it, it's happening to us all.  The devs are working to find and correct the cause.

The 2 issues that frustrate me with unstable client is the severe lag when going by big deeds where I have to restart the client.  This was an issue with stable client and was fixed a few months ago and has been great.  I never need to restart stable client anymore from lag.  Current unstable client seems exactly like how stable client used to be.

 

My 2nd issue with unstable client is the random server disconnect.  Be in the middle of something and then up pops the Wurm screen and people say it looks like I went offline for a second.  Sleep reset and everything I was doing is like I just logged in.  Currently doesn't happen as much as a few months ago.  Kind of seems like it needs to crash within 15 minutes at least once and then it will run for a few hours before it happens again.  I get mad and switch to stable client so not sure on time.

 

I try unstable client at least once a day, but it's not stable enough to be next stable client.  Please don't make the current unstable client stable in next big patch or give option to use old client.

I had an issue with crashes quite frequently with the Java 8 10 64-bit, check to see if you're on the most recent 111 released on October 18th. That's fixed most of my issues.

Disgusted over how I can't even update... I recently got a new version of java, made sure everything was fine. Found out there was a update today... it refuses to update. It's just stuck at 0% and when i go into ''pack update'' this nasty message comes.

Have you reset your computer since the issue started?  Generally when packs won't update and sit at 0% a java process is stuck open you can close it in the processes or restart your computer.

I have restarted my pc many times and today I was faced with the same problem but this time it was at 29% However I found one solution I could take although it requires tampering with the files.

 

To fix my own issue I have to go into the Wurm folder and delete graphic pack and then open up Wurm and hit ''retry pack update'' and then it begins to download Wurm from scratch again. A another way would be getting the Wurm graphic from the other pc and upload to this pc, although that requires work.

I think wurmpedia also keeps a link to a manual download fo the graphics paclk, may or may not be easier:

OK crashed 8 times in less then 40 minutes , reconnects.

After last crash winter went to fall graphics and only crashed 2 times in over 1 hour?

Can your force season changes have something to do with it?

Also every time you mess with lights of any kind now , there seems to be more crashing.

Using windows 7  , java 64 , 16 gigs ram and 3.2 gig vid card .  i5- 3450 cpu @ 3.1 GHz Intel 64 bit.

Its only been pass 5 months or so were I been having problems.

All programs up to date , check every day for updates.

Siathes, if you are getting this with the unstable (4.0) client only, you are in the same boat as the rest of us and we're following that issue here http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/141920-40-disconnects-an-existing-connection-was-forcibly-closed-by-the-remote-host/

 

If this happens on BOTH clients for you, please start a new thread and do state that it happens with both.

 

As far as the 4.0 client, we're aware of the issue and hoping that it gets addressed soon!

Hi,

 

I am on a brand new computer. After having issues with the unstable client, i switched to using the stable client. I am running into crashes after a while. The game runs fine for a while and then it starts lagging...like the game freezes for a second. Then it all gets bogged down and crashes. It has happened a couple times. The first time i was travelling so i figured it might be memory leak related. The second time i was in one spot for several hours digging then it started up again. Here is the crash log. Maybe someone can help me?

This is their new DirectX 12 driver released 2017.3.9  -- it apparently is causing some crashes for Minecraft users as well but reddit users have reported a fix that works for many of them:

  • One reported solution is   to downgrade your driver to the previous version (This would be version 376.33)  
  • Another soultion:  ***Uninstalling of latest NVIDIA 3D Vision resolved the problem for most (explained in link)

Crashes in minecraft and wurm tend to be related due to similar coding (openGL/java) so often a solution for one, fixes the other. Because there are more minecraft users, there is often a fix for wutrm issues by searching for minecraft issues. 

Wurm client devs might want to check that thread for any similarities with crashes in Wurm.  It seems to involve mostly certain mods rather than vanilla minecraft, but there still might be similarities with the new unstable wurm client.  

On the other hand, if only the brand new NVidia driver has this issue, then NVidia  will likely include a fix soon on their end in their next update if only to accommodate the millions of minecraft users. Still might be educational to know why it causes crashing.

 

 

 

bother that was a previous version causing those crashes, I did not verify my search sorry, let me look around a bit more however it DOES seem to be the official nvidia driver, and I would still try the two things they mention (using instead older driver version 376.33 or uninstalling NVidia3Dvision ) just to rule those out as possible fixes.  This older HotFix driver (Jan2017-378.57)  was also especially rewritten to solve those java game crash issues so it might also be worth a shot.
