  1. Hello! A new marketplace has been in progress the last few months, on the Northern end of Independence and right along the water for ease of travel. Featuring a small church for prayers, a tavern/inn to rest your weary head, a public crafting space, and a selection of merchants with different wares for your perusing, as well as many pens offering 5 speed horses and hellhorses and the occasional champion pet. Celestial Market is on the highway system for easy routing, and just along the shore of Samling Fjord at E15 on Independence. If you arrive during the night, you'll know you're there when you see all of the bright colors found around the deed ^ ,^ We do have quite a few merchant stall spaces available for anyone who would like to claim one and place a merchant (or more than one) into this beautiful marketplace. Open this spoiler to see visually on the map Decently stocked so far, but always still a work in progress I hope to add many more things into the marketplace, along with the co-owner (my best friend). Will soon have clay and peat pits available for public digging, and currently do have tar. You'll be able to purchase animals, archeology fragments, tailoring goods, tools, weapons, armors and clothing, etc, as well as beverages and liquid foods from the bartender inside the Tipsy Troll Tavern. For more marketplace photos, see the spoiler below!
  2. Greetings! I'd like to put forward a few simple suggestion that would have significant applications in various settings... 1) Allow for the creation of kegs. Kegs would be a special barrel that would have a “price per drink” feature added to it. Crafting recipe for this would simply be to add an item to the game: a "tap". A tap can be inserted into a small or large barrel and a keg of that size is created. 2) Add a price per serving option to a larder, thus allowing it to be set to “eat from only” or perhaps allow taking of individually prepared servings at a price the owner could set. No new items or crafting processes necessary. With these two things added to the game, food and drink could be easily sold on a per serving basis. It would also be easy to build a diverse and fully functioning Tavern in a community, which is the ultimate desire fueling this suggestion. This could bring a whole new dynamic to the idea of a public tavern placed in a large community. Other option is the idea of a new npc barkeep that has mechanics that allow for the bending of food and drink on a per serving scale. The keg and larder modification suggestion use graphics and mechanics that already exist it the game (except for the need for a “tap” for kegs, and would therefore be simpler to implement (I would think). The npc option would require more work... Humbly submitted... ~TH~
  3. A friend who's relatively new to wurm expressed a feeling he had about the way towns in wurm don't function like towns in other games or RL. He observed that players just build things around them and basically play by themselves mostly. This is basically true. We'll come together to complete a joint project, but then we go back to our private domain and exist there. Today, I was in a chat talking about starter towns, and I was trying to explain why I thought Esert is a weird place. It's because it has open space and occasional buildings. It should have a built-up street. And then I wondered what buildings a street would have to make it feel like a town on at the frontier of great adventures, and I thought about other games. Other games of this ilk tend to have taverns and guild houses and temples with NPCs in them, and you'd visit those to learn, advance, and to find lucrative/rewarding work. Aspects of this would work beautifully in Wurm. Wurm already has missions. If those missions were connected to physical buildings and NPCs in them, it would get people out of their silos, promote greater travel and exploration (to see what new mission can be found at a different town), and would make towns in themselves more meaningful to new and old players alike. The current system of pulling missions out of a HUD window break immersion. Having to visit an 'official' temple to learn about god A's latest whim in a personal mission would be great, as would meeting a farmer npc in a tavern and agreeing to supply x number of y item of z quality. This mechanic would get more people out and about, interacting and making the streets of Wurm more alive and buzzing. Missions could be cross server, and even include risky ones to Chaos maybe (take a priority message to someone, maybe) I have no idea how the economy of Wurm works, so I'm not going to suggest how mission would be rewarded, but any non-religious (or non meditation path... - why can't there be Schools of Path X for meditation to rival the temples and guilds?) needs a more concrete reward than sleep bonus. Someone must have suggested this before, but a quick search didn't show me anything like it.
  4. Hello everyone! Let's do something for fun and creativity! If you like decorations join me in this thread and share with all of us your unusual decorating ideas. Let's put those unexpected items to creative use or take something that seems ordinary and turn it into interesting design. Inspire and get inspired ! Few days ago we went to hunting trip in open sea and I came up with something interesting after trying to display our hunting trophies ( that what I call regular unbutchered corpses ). I just wanted to show our citizens and friends variety of cool sea creatures that exist in Wurm. Sadly we do not see them in our area of Xanadu. But when I dropped them on floor in our city hall , I could see only tops of creatures and rest of their bodies went underground. So, I went to second floor of our tavern and dropped them there ... and here is result how it look like on first floor "Forbidden fruit" Tavern, hunting trophies display. ( Eden Harbour ).
