  1. as any who has ever tried to help new players knows the first thing that makes players quit is how long making a basic house takes for new players. lets do for houses what Canoes will do for ships. add mud huts or log cabins or add both and let mud huts give masonry skill and log cabin give carpentry. make them need no skill to plan or build but have a small size limit (maybe 2x2) and make them use only a few actions and use basic materials for example 2 piles of dirt per wall for mud huts, 2 logs per wall for log cabins. make decay very high(or instant) if the player hasn't logged into the server for 30 days. if possible make them use the old autoroof system all buildings had before multistory, so they cant be multistory and get a "free" roof instead.
  2. It's surprising that the suggestion to add the option to build log cabins in WO hasn't been implemented yet, despite being proposed for almost a decade. I believe many people, myself included, would love to be able to build a log cabin in the woods or a log cabin campsite by a lake.   3. Hello, I just installed Wurm Online (Steam client) yesterday and so far had 3 random crashes. Last one while foraging. I am also having micro freezes of like 1 sec from time to time, presumably something to do with java garbage collection / java (old) version. Some threads on this issue. Crash logs below:
  4. Currently if you log out off deed, there is a 1 minute delay - a kind of limbo-land when you have physically left the game but your character logically stays in it. This occurs if you have a disconnection as well as if you choose to log out. If you were in combat (even if it's over) or have an injury - this 'unattended presence' extends for 5 minutes after you log out. In my opinion this delay serves no reasonable purpose in PvE. The delay results in a lot of unwanted and unexpected deaths, particularly for new players. Many players log out when they see a large mob, or worse still log out before they see any mob, and believing their character safe, are shocked when they log back in later to find the red death screen. These are not deaths encountered during actual play. These are not 'fair fights' - the player is not even present when the fight begins, and can not interact with the world in any way. Everyone accepts that the game continues after we leave it, but we don't expect decisions to continue to be made about our character whilst we are absent. Play is supposed to be attended at all times. If the toon can show up visibly to others as a 'lost link' - then surely it is possible for the same toon to be flagged as a non-target to mobs at the same time. It is my suggestion that on PvE, any disconnected toon showing as 'lost link', is flagged as a non-target to mobs as soon as the link is lost. This game goes to so much trouble not to set you as a target as soon as you log in - I believe it should pay you the same courtesy when you log out.

  9. I was trading some low quality stuff to a trader, two Small Iron Anvils and 30 Needles. The game crashes shortly after offering (and demanded by the trader) the 30 needles. The Anvils work fine. This has happened twice now, in the exact same way, Log below.
  10. My server sometimes have "lag". version 1.0.0.6 , 3.19.0-49-generic 14.04.1-Ubuntu x86_64 Network Checked - medium latency 200-250 ms - i think it is good. no packet loss. Memory : 3gb max heap, 2-2.2 gb used from heap. no heap \ memory errors warnings. Cpu at most used 35 percents no other heavy tasks running. maybe some code not working good ? i collected warrings and errors from logs so maye someone know how to fix it or at least workaround to their influence on robustness.   13. In this page of the wiki it's stated that Huge Tub can contain up to 28 logs, therefore I crafted one for my forgery. However, empirical experience suggest that this is a lie! "The log will not fit in the huge tub". It may be a plugin that's messing up, anybody else (possibly playing without plug ins) that can confirm this issue (or prove otherwise)? EDIT: My tub is completely empty.

  15. This idea stems from all the "alts" that are popular to leave on while afk for sleeping or working in order to see who is doing what in the area. Stone or wood they would be place on deed or in house(which I would prefer..to hide) from others knowing you had one. The idea is to log area events of what people are doing in and around your house/deed area. Sure you may not catch a griefer but still would be nice to know Who is doing it or who keeps popping up in your area. Two ideas stem from this..To log who comes into local and/or who is performing actions in the area. I propose buying them off the Traders for a one time cost of 2 silver, then a 1 Iron per tile monthly upkeep(so Rolf gets it made) or make it craftable free. Have the option for it to log both people and actions in the area for 1iron each choice even. Make it affordable so initial cost every newb wont want to pay but make it cheap to maximize area for more experienced players. The idea behind this is because there seems to be a SHARP rise of griefing going on. NOT that this would fix it..but if the offenders are that bold..LET THEM BE KNOWN with their actions so we know who they are..instead of hiding what they do. Sentinel Post ( 2 silver off trader / Craftable? ) Logs people in area: paid for, ( logging who comes into area and/or perform actions ) Cost: 1 iron per choice / per tile so a 10*10= 100 tiles or 1 copper/mo unless you want to also log people who come into area as well then mo. cost would be 2 copper/tile. ( if needed have a max area available to keep server resources down) Rolf wins initial and monthly cost we get to see more without having to keep people logged on and clutter the system as well as worrying about server downtimes then relogging all the alts back in. Ran internet speed tests and they look good any help would be great.
