  1. I have been noticing Wurm running slowly and momentarily freezing whilst doing my usual archaeology and then restoration. Tonight it was unresponsive for probably over a minute whilst I was hunting for fragments. SO I decided to open Task Manager to see what was running. My Wurm client usually has 3 things going on: But I notice that every so often the console is activated, a process called "Lists the current running tasks..." appears (very briefly), and the number of background processes increases: What is Wurm doing during these times? and why is it causing a micro-freeze to the game each time it happens, whilst I am playing it? I admit I'm feeling a bit spooked because yesterday I loaded my Comodo secure shopping basket, and it wouldn't continue because it said another computer was accessing my computer remotely, and there was a chance I could be watched. I logged out of Wurm and tried Comodo secure shopping basket again, and it was fine, no warning message. To double check, I closed Comodo SSB , and loaded up Wurm, and then finally opened Comodo SSB again and got the warning message again, so just a heads up in case anyone is having problems with Comodo secure shopping basket and Wurm together. Thanks!
  2. I removed vein by using errupt and freeze. After that tried open the cave by tunneling, but system didn't let me do that as if vein was still there. But undeground this same tile showed regular rock.
  3. Having an issue with the game constantly freezing for a few mins at a time. It happens at least once every ten mins. I am on the steam client. I uninstalled java/ installed java 8. I've lowered my graphics settings, updated my graphics card drivers. I've run it in debug mode and not sure if anything happened with that... Sometimes it will freeze and crash. Sometimes it will just randomly crash. It is a mess. I'll add my log. Also, this started really bad after 8/5/2020 or 8/6/2020 update. I verified my update files as well.   5. My priest, Dalvea, mounted a cart 4 times tonight. All 4 times, the camera froze and I had to relog.
  6. Logged in today and have been getting some pretty regular lag on Xanadu. The 'I'm driving forward but my cart horses are facing sideways' kind of lag. Decided not to go anywhere and was sitting on my deed milling cereals and then went to make them into dough and bake them...and shortly after I started baking up the batches of bread...the game locked up/froze. I thought maybe it was lag, so I went and read a page in the background...came back, and it was still locked up. I logged out...and now I'm trying to login and getting "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" numerous times. It won't let me login at all now. Did the server crash or is this just me?
  7. Hi, Not for the first time, I have just embarked as commander on my cart, and frozen - can't move or do anything at all - have to relog to clear. Does not happen every time, seems to be when running towards cart and embarking - sometimes. Hope this can be fixed. Thanx
  8. So with the fix in for boat crossing lock ups today I noticed the freeze embark bug is back. It happened many times today on wagons/carts/horses where I would embark from any range other than standing on top of the vehicle and ending up having to relog due to freeze up. It happened about 5x hopping onto a cart and once each hopping onto a wagon and horse.
  9. Wurm Unlimited has been a lot of fun for me over the past month, no issues whatsoever. However, for about a week now, I have been getting random freezes here and there, mostly on my deed which is for the most part uninhabited. My machine will just completely lock up (WU screen freezes, my second monitor, with Firefox playing Pandora, also crashes, and finally the cursor freezes). This is where I realize the computer has seized up. A hard restart brings me back to my desktop with no answers. I can't find a log file, since the game didn't have time to generate one. I am at a loss as to what is happening. Other games work fine (especially Minecraft, another Java game). The game's video settings are maxed out, where I hit 60 FPS in the wild and roughly 35-40 in large cities. I would like to know if anyone else has had such a problem, as well as anyone that may be able to help me. Any other info you need please let me know.   10. I know there are heaps of threads about this already but would like to bring it to dev attention again: 1. Please fix the glow on rare and supreme carts. They glow when you are heaps of tiles away yet when you get close the glow disappear. Is this just a matter of fixing how far away glow is visible? The glow disappeared some time this year, so it was in the coding then got changed somehow. 2. The most annoying bug in Wurm now is that carts and wagons don't follow terrain any more. This came into game when sitting was introduced. Seriously, I would prefer to stand and still see behind me when I go up a slope, or be able to use my wagon properly when digging on slopes. Sitting is purely cosmetic, it serves no purpose other than making the game look more realistic. However, not being able to see behind your cart when you go up mountains, or using a wagon on slopes, is very irritating. 3. The camera freeze bug when embarking carts are back, it happens randomly and you have to relog to change the frozen screen (yet you can still chat and get events). Please fix these bugs. Thanks.

  12. I recently got very frustrated trying to open a tunnel which just wouldn't work. Turns out an old lava tile, which I had frozen from the surface and then forgot about it, was getting in the way. The situation underground was like this, where the dark grey squares are cave entrances from south to north: [18:20:22] <Logi> report it So here we go, what I thought was a feature but may actually be a bug: - Freezing a lava tile from the surface doesn't remove the lava wall from under the ground - Instead, you need to freeze a second time from underground - This makes it hard to remove a lava wall when the terrain tile is very close to water surface or underwater. Another thing is, when you use erupt, the North-West corner of the tile is raised by 4 slope. This is great and very useful to terraform, but: - When erupting, the tile corner is raised even if it is part of a house or cave entrance. - In the image below, erupting the lava tile would make the entrance of the left dark square non-flat. - The inside cave floor is not raised but instead remains flat, resulting in a small visible gap between cave floor and ground floor. - Non-flat cave entrances remain after the lava is gone and you can use them normally. The final thing is what really made me crazy. I am not sure if it is a bug or not but I want to report it anyway: - When trying to mine a tunnel adjacent to an underground lava wall you will get a not really indicative mine warning that stops the action: -- The ground sounds strangely hollow and brittle. You have to abandon the mining operation. - When trying to open a cave from the underground adjacent to a lava wall you will get another warning stopping you: -- The cave walls look very unstable. You cannot keep mining here. - This was not tested further, but both tiles on the above image were unable to be tunnelled.   13. Ok, this is going to be complicated to explain but it is a somewhat game breaking bug and would be worth while to fix. In a recent event where I Lava'd a cliff tile, froze it again to turn it into rock to make a mine entrance the actual cave tile underneath it turned into a lava tile which had to be froze again to get rid of. Now, the actual lava tile underground had no effects of being lava, it didn't hurt nor have I seen it spread underground, so why does it exist? o.O All I could see myself doing now was making a ridiculous safe mine where on top of having reinforced tiles I could also have lava tiles so that if an enemy raids they would have to bring someone on Path of Power to get in. OP right? I am yet to do some further science on it, to check if when it does spread the tile it spreads onto turns into lava underneath as well? And If you cant erupt a lava tile underground how come you can freeze one?

Today this progressed to a point where the freeze became several minutes long and now I cannot do anything.   15. ok, this is a cool game but ever since i have played i have been plagued by very slow(between 0-10) frames. naturally this causes allot of lag and white screen ect. I enjoy playing this game when i can; but to be honest i cant take much more of all the freezing, jumping when it does move. not to mention being constantly told that my position on the server is not updated and to be still when i haven't even moved. no game is worth this much aggravation, and i am as computer illiterate as they come. The last while I had some serious problem with CPU load spikes and lockups in Wurm: http://forum.wurmonl...l__+cpu +spikes I found some stuff to improve things on my end, but there is one issue with Wurm itself that I wanted to bring to attention: The Wurm client jnlp file is limiting Java heap size to 800MB. This is probably an older value that has never been updated to current requirements, like multistory. When the local area gets cluttered, the heap is simply not big enough to hold all the data and the Java Garbage collection is running into a wall, jumping into full mode, which locks up the program until it's done. The problem could easily be alleviated by increasing heap size, but unfortunattely the jnlp <max-heap-size> parameter seems to take precedence over the ecternal javaws -Xmx option. Can't manually edit the jnlp file either, because there is a signature check. The incremental Garbage Collection option -Xincgc seems to work in preventing the lockups though. However a larger heap would probably improve performance. Edit: you can't have the heap size in the jnlp set too high in case of older machines though. Best would be a setting in the launcher that would start the game with a custom heap size. That way the user can adjust to his system. You could also use an automatic option by default that scales to maybe 50% system ram.
  18. The game keeps not responding for no reason at random intervals. I've turned off GLSL shaders, and the textures still are screwed up. I have Nvidia, and can't really give a log because it's just no responding.
  19. I thought I'd play for a while again but I got a rather negative surprise when I opened the game again. Firstly, the place where I last played didn't have the house anymore, just some trees. I was lagging like hell and a lizard, a bear and a spider started chasing me. Of course, I died. After dying, I respawned and I couldn't move at all. The graphics froze, the client crashed, OK. I restarted the client and now I can't move at all, when the graphics start loading the game just crashes, I have waited for way too long and nothing helps. I set optimus to use my GT540M video card and played around will all the compatibility options, nothing is working and I can't go ingame. Is this something anyone is familiar with or should I ask for a refund or something? And if I can't play at all and I just bought the premium again yesterday, can I and where ask for a refund?
  20. Hello, Every time i press the play button the game renders the terrain but then it just freezes. I have to use Ctrl+Alt+Delete to close it.   21. My machine has: Intel Core i3 M 380 @ 2.53GHz × 4, NVidia GeForce 315M, 3,7 GiB RAM. The system i Ubuntu Pangolin and uses normally 10% CPU and 1,1 GiB RAM. Wurm is using moderate settings and running at +/- 30 fps using 150-200% CPU, 800 MiB RAM. and less than 1KiB/s Network. Normally, that is. but then Wurm repeatedly (with distances of 5-30s) does something and I get a Network burst of anywhere up to 120 KiB followed by a CPU Burst of 400% and Wurm completely stops drawing any frames. for a full second or more. I basically go from 30 fps to 0 fps and back to 30 fps. Now comes the important part: Wurm does the same even when I turn the World Render Off. There is litterally nothing to draw besides the gui, but Wurm can't do it. This is practically shouting classic Multithreading lockup. Rendering is a read only process. there is nothing that needs to be thread save. And it would be nice if that sudden load could be spread more evenly, it's also lugging down the entire System.

  23. I played Wurm Online about 1.5 yrs ago, and quit when my personal life made it impossible to play. I have some free time now, and want to return but cannot seem to get Wurm to fully boot. Description of What Happens: Upon clicking on the Wurm Launcher, the log-in screen appears as normal. I log in, and get Wurm's loading screen, at which point Wurm begins to connect to the server. The connection happens correctly, and I get the message "welcome back [player name] the [server name] server is waiting for you". It then sits there for a minute or two before VERY briefly changing to a "not responding" status and shutting down. I do not get any messages or crash log of any sort. Things I've Tried: I've updated Java. I then, after reading about similar issues on the forums, uninstalled Java 7 and re-installed Java 6. I changed the network settings of Java to "direct connect"(also after reading about similar issues on the forums). I created a new user name & password(wasn't sure if something on my old account was causing the issue). Brief Detail of system: Windows Vista AMD Turion X2 - Dual Core - 2.1Ghz ATI Radeon HD 3200 card 4Gb Ram I do realize the above mentioned specs are a bit outdated, but I used to run Wurm just fine on this computer, and have a hard time believing the system reqs have changed enough to force a crash with no crash log.
