  1. First of all, i would like to say that im entirely aware of my meh tier english writing. Sooo to the main point, for quite a time i had an idea about new pve activity in wurm going around my head.. For now its just grinding generic monsters in bulk quantities, but what if we could add atleast some spice to it? Let's say guards now would have an option to offer you a task for specific creature to kill. First of all i would introduce new enemy: Bandit After asking guard about work, there is chance that he will send you to abandoned settlement, that is currently occupied by bandits. They of course, wont leave without a good argument... Killing them should be a long term solution. But what about their gear? Would we be able to loot them? Of course.. not! Everything they had officialy belongs to freedom kingdom. But worry not! You will still be rewarded for every thumb you will bring. Same enemies, different approaches. Monsters with bounty from guard, will have different modifiers. And additionaly, they would be stronger. Examples of what modifiers could be. >Venomous - Bites would be extremly dangerous, unless you wear good protection/use antidote made from blood of creature that poisoned you. >Enraged - Enemy would attack with less accuracy, but more frequently with higher damage. You can use special oil, to use on weapon, to make its attacks less frequent, and weaker, making it easier to kill it. >Corrupted - Beast would be corrupted by unknown magic, its defense would be much higher, unless you use silver weaponry. Etc. something like that. Tracking would now be dependent on Hunting ability. Hunting ability would be gained by tracking and killing special monsters. Tracking on lower skill would not give you too many helpfull information, at best, it would tell you aprox. size of creature and direction it was moving towards. At higher level, it would tell you more. Well, for now it's just a bare bones ideas, most of them probably would require alot of research, but at first i wonder what others would think about stuff like that. I would appreciate brainstorming.

A different flavor of wurm. did you ever wish you could perform actions as fast as a shaolin monk? or ride a scorpion up a 160 slope? well this is like a dream of that stuffed inside a circus attached to some lollerskates and thrown down a 300 slope into a pit of greenish nogumps! -!Caution if you like the slow grind this server may not be for you. one can explore most everything in wurm relatively quickly as most things happen near instantly!- you are given a nice combat advantage and in some cases you can solo a dragon, and even dominating them is much easier and possible!   6. Midnight Wurm A custom game world by the Midnight Watchmen Gaming Community. Midnight Wurm's primary server is a custom 4,096 x 4,096 game map known as the "Realm of the Celestial Paladins". Starts, Gains, Configuration: We are a PvE server with a PvP sparring area and occassional PvP special events.   8. I am far from the oldest person to play this game. Maybe been around for half the life of Wurm now. But over those years, I've noticed so much conflict between what works for PvP and what works for PvE. I really think the game would benefit from a complete split. No more connections between PvE and PvP servers. Now that Epic has been given a chance to migrate to Freedom, we can all pretty much choose where we want to be with our current characters. Give everyone a grace period to make the decision and move to their Pv? of choice, then rip out all the network cables between PvE and PvP servers for good. Allow a single subscription to create both a PvE and a PvP character, but never a character that moves between. Split the forums (pretty much like the Epic section now). Forum accounts can subscribe to PvE, PvP or both, giving people a chance to better filter out the stuff that doesn't matter to them. I've probably Fd up a ton of Epic auctions by bidding on something that was listed as a new post on the right side of forums main page, even though I have the epic section hidden. In DevBlog posts, or Retro's weekly news, there is always a big controversy over every PvP change and quite a few PvE changes, but if it were separated, it would be so much easier to filter through the things that mattered to the right player base. People that PvP and PvE are often very different game players and trying to lump the game mechanics into one big pool is never going to work effectively. One camp is very much "there is honor among thieves" and the other is "there is nothing honorable about being a thief". How can you have two different philosophies and ever expect to have an agreeable outcome? I may not ever PvP myself, but I understand how others find it much more entertaining and meaningful, so I'm not bashing PvP, just suggesting that PvP and PvE are never going to be compatible play styles. I see it all the time in games that do combine it. In guilds or alliances that contain both types of players, there is always heated conflict. Rarely do PvP and PvE players see eye to eye, but it does happen. I do have a few friends that do both and are great people, but I'm writing this for the majority of PvP and PvE interactions. I see how PvE, being the stronger player base right now is having a highly detrimental effect on the PvP experience. It feels like we are slowly taking over the future development of the game. Good for me and most of my fellow PvE players, but bad for the PvP crowd. Build that border wall and allow a full code split, to give devs the freedom to make PvP more exciting. I am a huge fan of conflict elimination as a way to improve overall player experience and think this would go a long way towards that goal.
  9. Prenote: Terms such as "Offensive CR" and "Defensive CR" are used throughout the suggestion. This does not necassairly mean actual CR codewise but rather modifiers that gives bonus hit chance for offensive actions or miss chance for defensive actions that would equate to the CR mentioned. Basics All 5 paths (Love, Hate, Insanity, Power, Knowledge) got their own individual passives. These passives scale linearly based on player level starting with level 2. (10 levels in total) Meditation abilities are not dispellable... since they arent spells. The max cooldown between path levels is reduced to 1 week and thus lets players experiment with diffrent paths without feeling they are horribly gimped by doing so. The skill level is what truly restricts the player. Love performs 3x healing for all non-spell sources. (+20% per level. This includes cotton, lifetransfer, regen and mycelium absorbation) Hate gets 20% dmg bonus and 20% offensive cr bonus. (2% per level. does not stack with passive faith bonuses.) Insanity gets 20% dmg reduction (2% per level.) Power gets 30% stamina reduction (3% per level) Knowledge gets 25% skill increase (2.5% per level) Now with that out of the way, here comes the fun stuff. Each path has 4 abilities that are choosen when to unlock. New ability choices are given at level 4, 7, 9, 11. One ability is unlocked at a time. Love Refresh Unchanged. Enchanted tile same functionality except that enchanted tree tiles yield 3x harvest. Love effect When used on the ground it makes all hostiles in local friendly for 10 minutes. If used towards a specific non-unique non-tamed non-valrei non-human creature it will perform a strong charm/dominate effect and turn it into a pet. Includes unusual types of creatures that normally cant be turned into pets, like whales and kingdom animals. (sidenote: You can currently ride aquatic creatures like crocodiles in water. Human and Humanoid isn't the same thing.) Cooldowns are unchanged. Soothing presence Permanent aggro-range reducing buff (similar to the newbie buff). Also makes taming and breeding easier. Power Erupt/Freeze Allows the creation of lava on rock/cliff tiles aswell as turning lava into rock. Same timers as currently but domain influence doesn't matter. Erupt only works inside your own kingdom like currently. Erupt can also be used on forges and ovens. Thereby lighting the oven/forge, fueling it and turning all items inside them searing hot. Freeze can be used on any container and instantly cools all content within. Elemental Immunity / Lava Walker Passive buff that gives permanent 50% reduction to all sources of fire, ice, acid and water. Active 30 minute ability with 3h cooldown. 50% reduction to all sources of fire, ice, acid and water. (the passive and active ability stack as additions. thus giving full immunity togheter) Might 2 hour ability with 4h cooldown. 50% increased carrying capacity and 50% longer stuns. Wanderer 60% stam reduction for movement (includes walking, swimming, riding, sailing, climbing, dragging). Does not stack with the level-based passive. Knowledge Get Info Combination of level 1 and 3 get info. Thus giving general information, affinities and carrying weight all at once. Also gives +4CR in combat against that specific target for the user. 1h cooldown and the effect last 15 minutes. Survey Area Slightly modified Get info level 3. Informs you of all creatures and settlements in local aswell as showing all tracks of the past 3 wurm days (same as tracking) at your location. 1h cooldown. No skill loss Unchanged. Attention to detail Passive that gives +2 radius for prospecting/analyzing, 10% higher chance for rarity rolls to succeed and +2 passive CR. Hate Rage Rage: Gives 4x increased damage from bashing and 25% dmg bonus to siege engines for 15 minutes. 1h cooldown. Frenzy +50% attack speed and -35% defensive CR for 1 minutes. 15 minute cooldown. (also modifies minimum swing timers) Roar Turns all agressive entities in local passive against the character for 2 minutes and breaks their combat with the character. (This includes guards and kingdom animals) Also provides 2 defensive cr for the duration. 30 min cooldown. Targeted at the ground. Hatred Passively adds a 1 minute debuff to anything that hurts you. If the person who gave the debuff attack the person/creature with the debuff they receive +2 offensive CR. Insanity Break Reality Teleports the character to a random tile on the server, heals all wounds, removes all spell effects, gives a 10 minute +25% speed boost and +5 CR. Also performs a Fill effect. Same restrictions as normal teleports. Makes the eyes of the user go black for the duration of the effect. Unstable Passively gives 15% dmg reduction in two resistances that shifts to random new ones every minute. Imagination Activated ability that removes the largest wound of the user and gives single-target spell immunity for 5 minutes. 45 min cd. Also spawns 2 random insanity illusions that only the user sees. Nightmare Activated ability that spawns a neutral shadow being (translucent and black shaded fog spider, wolf or wraith) that attack the closest hostile entity with the power of a dominated troll and dissapear after 30 seconds. 30min cooldown. Summary Poor abilities removed New abilities added Choices Rewards the player from the get go and keeps giving more things as skill and level progress. Thus keeping it very newbie friendly More choices in how the player wish to progress and if they want to try a new path after achieving high skill it wont take long to get high meditation level again.

Valoria was open for almost a year and during that time we have pooled together all of our experience to try to come up with something unique and epic for a great pve server! Opened 18th March! The Map The map is made up of a central 4k sized mainland, surrounded by four, 2k sized, islands. There are also another nine, separate, 1k sized islands. Many waterways and rivers, and lots of islands to sail to, make boats very important. Some of the remote islands will be themed; a desert island for example, where only olive and orange trees grow, a fiery volcanic island with lava, tundra and pine woods, or perhaps a cold island with snowy mountains and glaciers with steppe on the plains. Some islands will have rare trees or creatures on them, meaning that if players want lots of a certain type of tree they may have to travel there to get the sprouts themselves. Creatures on the remote islands may drop rare or strange loot - so a greenish lava fiend might drop bone shoulder pads or a greenish troll might drop a cavalier helmet for example - you'll have to find them and kill them to see! As smaller islands have themes for their biomes, so will they have creatures living there based upon what the island is like. Lava fiends and lava spiders on the volcanic island for example, whilst wolves and bears might inhabit the snowier regions. More than one volcano on the map! More source springs and fountains, and having them spread out across the entire map area. The spawn will be on it's own little mini island within the mainland area. We are planning to have portals to each of the four larger islands, but not to the smaller themed hunting islands however. Religion All four different religions available, both white light and black light Priest restrictions are off. Sermons are disabled. Prayer timer is faster. Sacrifice timer is faster. You can pray for faith gain an unlimited number of times per day, every 20 minutes apart. Sacrifice rares for a 1/100 chance of a rare bone. Alters can be pushed or loaded. Meditating Meditating restrictions are turned off. Waiting time between questions is halved. Above 20 meditating skill, you can meditate an unlimited number of times for skill gain per day, every 30 minutes apart. Meditating timer only 30 seconds (not 2 minutes). Farming & Forestry Certain tree types are more rare and are harder to find than others. 5x sprouts when picking. Action timer for sowing is quicker. Crop rotting is disabled. Harvest helper lets you do /seasons to see what is in season currently, how long until the next harvest cycle, and when other harvests will be available. Inbreeding warnings appear when trying to breed creatures that are related. Absolutely crazy and random horse names that will make you smile and want to breed horses just for the names! Terraforming Dirt, sand, clay, etc drops to the ground when digging; if dragging or riding a cart, it will go into that instead. 100% success rate when surface mining. Unique 'Clear Soil' mod only found on Valoria. Allows you to dig all four corners in one new action after your digging skill is above thirty. 5x clay dug per action. Alternative concrete crafting recipe. Economy No traders - standard trader items will be sold by Merchants at the spawn area. Monthly trade fair. Mailing items is free, unless you are sending COD, which is then 1c per item. Bounties for burying creatures. Personal merchants can hold and sell more items. Travel Boats, carts and wagons are faster. Hitching restrictions lifted for hostile creatures - have fun seeing what you can hitch! Portals from the spawn area to the main islands. Great for new players! CA Help opens automatically for new players. No skill loss on death. No drowning. No 24hr waiting time to move your bank. Loading can be done immediately, 23 body strength is not required. Information and Event tabs, with lots of helpful links and dates regarding the server. Active, friendly and experienced staff team made up of multiple GM's, CA's and CM's. Misc. Customised start-up equipment, including a basic pelt and pendulum. There is a chance of getting moon metals when mining. Prospecting a mine floor works in the same way as surface prospecting. Healing covers show their strength in the name. Action timers for destroying and alchemy are faster. Cave dwellings allow all wall types, with less decay for underground off deed buildings, and walls can be planned directly next to cave walls. BSB's can hold more items then normal, and both crate types have double the normal capacity. More dragon scale and hide is dropped than normal at slaying events. Easily move items to the centre or the corner of tiles. Fires show the time left to burn when examined. No holy ground limits. Improved combat log. Joust against other players!   13. 3 new spells; one for each of the gods. These are not permanent enchantments, they are buff spells. These spells are aimed to be a useful buff for mid-late game priests to cast in return for simple goods/services. These spells all have difficulty 60, with a favor cost of 50. Strength of cast increases duration (max 2 hours?) Fair Winds (Vyn): Allows the ship to sail at gale speeds regardless of wind direction/strength. Unstoppable Juggernaught (Mag): Cast on a cart or wagon, increases its speed (25%?). Wild Vitality (Fo): Cast on a ridable mob, increases its speed (25%?) and removes it's weight slowdown as long as it remains unhitched. When on a PvP server, the buffs have no effect (the spell effect appears, the favor is spent, but it does absolutely nothing); this is for balance purposes.

  15. Preface: This is a recreation of this thread, from June. There've been a number of changes, including a new map and new host. Due to this, and the age of the previous thread's last reply, a repost with updated information was required. As one of the three GMs of The Second Age, I have permission to repost this on behalf of the server. The Second Age is a time of plenty, but only the strong will be able to make their fortune in these hostile lands. Do you have what it takes to carve your name in the annals of history, or will your legacy be lost to the sands of time? 3x Exp and Action. 80k mobs, 70% hostile. 4k Map. Four hours between crop ticks. | Mod List | Discord Channel | Live Map | Rules | We have recently changed our host (2nd of September, 2017) which has gotten rid of our dreaded polling lag, making your experience on The Second Age much more enjoyable and smooth. We are still exactly the same as we were, though; just a brand new map, a new host, and a few new mods. The spawn area is editable by anyone, so it's a great place to skill up in safety, although at the moment there's not much there. Abandon it straight away, or stick around to help it grow. The choice is yours! You start with 23 in all characteristics except mind logic and body control, which are 21, and level 1 in all skills. Your starting kit is comprised of two ropes, a steel and flint, a pottery bowl, a compass, a waterskin and a tent, as well as a hatchet, carving knife, shovel, saw, pickaxe, rake, mallet, pendulum and a pelt, all of which are 30ql. You also receive a set of 30ql leather armor, a 30ql longsword, and a 30ql shield to help you get started. Deeds cost nothing to found, but they do have upkeep. Don't worry though, there's plenty of ways to make money. You can kill creatures for bounties deposited directly to your bank account, or build infrastructure such as roads, bridges, or guard towers and be paid for that, too. There's also the option to simply train your skills, and be awarded a varying (None, to a few silver.) amount of coins during a random moment of inspiration. We have a selection of mods designed to add quality of life (and some fun mechanics) to the vanilla game we all know and love. Our selections were designed on what changes Wurm needed to make the grind better, not easier. We've included some community favorites such as removing priest restrictions, bounties on mobs, improved digging, some changes to meditation that have made it much more accessible, and increased capacity of crates and bulk/food storage bins! That's just a teaser though; for our full, extensive mod list, click here! Our map is a beautiful 4k stretch of mixed forests, plains, gently sloping hills, lakes, rivers, and beaches. The whole world is open for you to make it yours! It's also fantastic for hunting! See our world map, updated daily, by clicking here! And I know the map looks flat - it's deceptive. There are plenty of areas with a 1.7k+ height, it's just a very gentle slope. Here's a few pictures provided by one of our players to show how hilly we can be. Our wonderful, spacious map wouldn't be complete without a high mob count. You can find up to 80k mobs on our map, and of those 80k, 70% are hostile, so you will never run out of scorpions to fight! This means survival will be a grueling task, for those willing to give us a try. It's intended to be challenging, so don't be surprised if you die a few times prior to settling down. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to comment here, pop into our Discord and toss it into the community, sign into our forums and make a post there, or join the server itself and ask there! The server has three GMs, Zaros, Shadowlarax, and Flannery (me), who are happy to assist you. There's only one catch to all of this - our playerbase is small. We are currently stuck within the catch-22 of all new game servers, where one needs players to retain players. If a server isn't active enough, then players tend to leave to a more active one with more players. So, here's hoping enough people will give us a chance. As a last note, if you find any 'Fantastic' rarity items you can poke one of the GMs, and they'll allow you to exchange it in return for a random permanent affinity. I am playing mostly nights (21:00 - 4:00) and I am in GMT +1 (CET) My char is premium and I am at some 60+ skills, see the dump with skills above 50 only: I am friendly, fluent in english and I love to adventure, hunt, chat and hang out. A little over a year ago I bought Wurm and joined some friends on a server called Redneck Solutions, we had fun in the beginning learning the game, crafting, competition and comraderie all in one, I looked forward to playing. Then it turned kinddah ugly, you find out on private servers thaty the people who have the server have clicks and they can pretty much do whatever they want, like spawning 15 Nogumps and a gazillion trolls around your property because they want your group to go away...so we did..(And we all did the happy dance when they imploded and disappearred) to move on......So then you get your own server and it is a headache, especially PVE and dealing with new folks and keeping everything friendly.....in lies an oxymoron....friendly game.......well I come and go at this quite steady, really feeling underappreciated for dealing with new people and it is a struggle to have an independent open to the public server and cover all bases. Finally this chapter closes, alittle under duress and some friendships may never be the same. part of the group stayed with Redneck, but the majority left, some went on to the new map in the PVE after a bigh ole fat wipe, and some moved on.....So now we try server hopping, man there are alot out there that have good and bad points, same with some of the people. Tamureil, Mythmoor, Skotopolis, Highborne, and a few other I am sure I lost count...Its almost like feast or famine with this game. Finally settle into Fields of Conquest PVP, play for a while meet some folks, but never a steady stream, never the same....always feel like your just playing to beat boredom......so maybe to go try something new....Well if you are a noob, do not go to a very active PVP server, more lessons learned over the next couple of days.....then I think did I really buy into this to be this frustrated.....I mean the level of tedium in the game is fierce even on the modded servers, and thats another thing, this server has this mod and that one has this and generally there is no where to find out and the maps are all different does anyone have a link?, It is completely maddening and its not fun anymore....well I guess some people were right PVE is to quiet and PVP if its an active server might not be your cup of tea, for there are surely days when you feel like you have been jumped by the mob. All in all it was great and it was depressing at times...I just can not find a happy medium I guess....any suggestions? there are aspects of the game I like but there are some that are not so nice....

It has plenty of lakes, plains, gently sloping hills, and mixed forests, as well as some centralized mountains. The mountains can be steep, but in certain places you're able to scale them without having to turn on climbing. The map is mostly untouched, with only the spawn town and a 5x5 area for the White Light having been edited. Spawn Town: Make it yours We have provided some basic amenities in the spawn town, but everything else the players will have to make, for the spawn town belongs to you! There's lots of room for you and other players to make farms, or housing, or whatever else you might like. It's a great place to skill up in relative safety before heading out into the wide world. Mobs Mobs are set to 20k, with 70% hostile, so you will never run out of things to hunt, and making a living from the wilderness will be even more rewarding! After that, you must pay 2.5c for every additional tile. Now I know that sounds expensive, but upkeep is only 5i per tile. The deed tiles are expensive to buy, making it more difficult to create massive deeds, but once you own the tiles, they're very easy to pay for. Similarly, Templars are 1s to buy, but only 5c a month in upkeep after the steep initial purchase price. If no one who belongs to the deed logs in for 30 days, upkeep will increase dramatically to speed up decay of dead deeds. Mods We have curated a selection of mods that both add new features and introduce quality of life changes. We've included some community favorites such as removing priest restrictions, bounties on mobs, improved digging, some changes to meditation that have made it much more accessible, and increased capacity of crates and bulk/food storage bins!   24. Since apparently we are taking a look at the whole mission system, let's take it a step farther. We need more PVE content. You can only kill so many bears and scorpions before you feel like you've seen it all. Stagnation is death. Rifts are a good idea on the surface, and they're fun. But, they're over quick, destroy an area, and take a ton of travel in some cases (looking at you, Xanadu). I have two ideas/suggestions, and please chime in and add on ideas and thoughts so we might be able to help the dev team turn this into a workable update that breathes new life into our beloved game. This first one is rather straightforward. Let's get some new lairs spawning on the maps with new and interesting creatures. Allow them to spawn within 1 tile of a deed perimeter to distribute well across the map, but keep their range from lair limited. Some lair ideas: 1. Polar bears lair in winter (with maybe a new rug to match with a low fur drop rate) 2. Termite mounds that would damage wooden and timber framed construction (away from deeds, faster than off deed standard decay would destroy unattended structures within 2 months, fairly easy to kill so as to not punish new players, drop something to create yellow dye) 3. Bandits within 10 tiles of a road that is at least 2 tiles wide and extends no less than 20 tiles long (have a few irons to loot, burying gives alignment, killing a certain number of bandits gives title "Defender of Justice" title) 4. Wild magic - Treants and creeping vines (give small uncommon logs such as lavender, oleander or rosewood) 5. Salamander dens in deserts or something that's not scorpions and a bit easier on new players 6. Grey or Brown wolves in forests (more rug colors?) The second, and more difficult would be to take the current rift system, and make it a portaled instance event. The lore is already fleshed out pretty well for Valrei, but what about Seris and Jackal? Take the current Valrei mission items that pop up, and allow a certain number to be sacrificed at a special portal to give the Gods power to activate a portal to Valrei to battle the Rift... Changing the lore instead of them coming to us, an army is being formed and needs to be stopped before it reaches blah blah blah... Magranon urges you to stop the army, gather these items so a portal can be opened.... Then a group of x people are able to go through the portal and do battle. Only allow a player to travel once every week or two weeks through a portal (You have been empowered by the Gods too recently and must allow your soul rest). Now let's make it better! Seris, Haven for the Dead. As we already have Spirit Templars, how about other spirits? Stop them from breaching the veil between worlds... Jackal, flowing with the blood of the damned. The undead pay allegiance to Libila have activated portal from the underworld. Assemble the pieces in a mine x tiles away from the surface or entrance and confront them... Where are the portals? The can be built and enchanted like epic portals, or available in each starter town. Activation requires x players chanting together at a portal calls the attention of the Gods to the sacrifice and asks for their favor. If there are too few players, the portal fails. This solves a few things. One, it makes alliances much more useful, especially regional. Two, most players are within a reasonable distance to a starter town and can travel there regularly. Third, the loot can be limited based on whatever the number of x players is, so the market for certain things (seryll, possibly a new metal or two, other rift items) is based on participation on a population scale, not just on a per server scale. Mission items can be obtained from mobs that spawn from special lairs, such as open graves (zombies and ghosts), or found in the world like the Valrei items are now. Thoughts? Additions? Suggestions?
