. Historically Spear and Shield have been wielded together. A spear can be wielded with 2 hands, but they have always seen more effectiveness when wielded behind a shield wall. I suggest making the Spear weapon a "versatile" weapon, that can be wielded either two-handed or single handed when equipped with a shield. To balance, the damage output for the spear when wielded with a shield can be reduced by 5% or so, and put a limit to the size of shields that can be used with a spear to Small and Medium shields. (While we are here... can we also get Makers Marks of Staffs. They still currently have no markers mark. I have 2 Rare Staffs, one Seryll and one Silver, that I have personally created and have the Dragon Staff skin, and it would be amazing if my Makers Mark were on them.) -

Although the small metal shield and large metal shield have always been available from archaeology, the medium metal shield was never added. This month's medium shield skin is highlighting the problem as archaeologists are not able to re-create them.

Increase shield skill gain as well as fight skill gain. the gain is very low and for use with a smaller weapon even the hit rate decreases. the skill gain is very low that when you just hit the defense. example today. [01:15:25] Medium metal shield increased by 0,0049 to 9,6862.

I'm very happy for the new possibilities of dyeing, it opened many new ways of coloring. The metal shields don't look good dyed. The other day I have seen a dyed wooden shield, it was very pretty. The metal shields would look better, if the edge of shield stayed metal color.

So basically it's a fact written on Wurmpedia that it is easier to block incoming arrows by turning 90 degrees to right, by turning the shield towards the opponent archer. This makes sense. But my question is: Is the rate of parrying increased if the defending player turns his/her left side (the shield side) to the attacker, during the melee combat? Or does turning the shield side to the attacker makes the defender more vulnerable to the attacks, by the case of being flanked? Thanks. -
