Adding Villages or Submitting Road Changes... If you want anything to be added, post your request in here, with the X-Y map coordinates, and if possible a little image to show exactly where you want it to be placed. (You can use an image host such as imgur.) Only a Mayor can make a request to have their deed put on the map and it has to made here in this forum. So all you hermits out there, your secret location is safe! BTW, we do NOT reveal any "off Map" places we come across during our road and geography surveys or add them to the map. BTW ... If a Mayor wants their deed removed, send me (Skyefox) a private forum message and I will remove it. Finally, a big thank you to those who have helped with the old Indy Map in the past, including Darkmalice, Mystecore, Mammadarkness, Maximusi, Huserx, Wraithglow and of course Archaed. Skyefox (CA Indy) and Hughmongus Co-leaders of the Albia Consortium Co-Administrators of The Albia Roads Map of Indy New Features and further information about how the Albia Roads Map of Indy was created. Back in October of 2012 we started work on the Albia Roads Map of Indy. Initially we did it as a private resource, when we found it was easy to get disoriented or lost using the old Indy map, when we were out exploring. The map was created from a compilation of the original Community map by DarkMalice, Project FRAM data from the early years of Wurm, Rolf's map dumps and actual travelling of the roads by Hughmongus and myself. It took Hugh a year in his spare time to intergrate all the geography data. Then we started tile counting the roads and highways in October of 2013 with the North East Praires and north coast. Any road that can be travelled on by foot or horse and cart is on the map. When we encounter roads that were behind locked gates/gatehouses we indicate what roads we can see. Where we were permitted access to map a settlement's roads, Gates and Gatehouses are indicated by a pixel gap in the road or side road. Where time allows, we are constanting updating the terrain and adjusting the coastlines, though in Wurm the landscape can change very quickly, so don't be surprised if some of it isn't exactly right. Thus, We do not guarantee accuracy due to the ever changing nature of a sandbox world. You will notice a few extra items on our map as well as some changes to icons, such as the new Tar icon, a smaller version of the Guard Tower and Mailbox icon's. The new Markers for Shrines, Temples, Obelisks and Pillars that were added in May of 2016 with more to come. The hollow Orange outline boxes surrounding the Guard Tower icons indicate the calling range for the guards - get the mob inside the boxed area and guards will respond to your call of "help" in Local Chat. Towers without the orange box we do not have an accurate position for yet, so only the GT icon is placed in an approximate location. The legend on the top left has all the information. Enjoy! Thanks to Finndar's account of his trip around Crystal Lake and seeing a chess board, it reminded us that we had not re-incorporated the ones we have seen in our travels, so with this release we have added them to the map. - north of Mist Lake (57x, 18y) - Inner Sea south (29x, 44y) - along the Great South Mountain Road (33x, 48y) and (32x, 56y) - Crystal Lake NW (38x, 37y) Freedom Dock and Crystal Coast Trail Area (32x, 40y to 35x 42y; N16 & N17) - we finally got over here to check out the roads in this area and they have been updated. - also did a minor geography update and inserted a tar symbol where someone had been busy with some transformation liquids SW Crystal Sea, West of Maple Island (37x,44y & 39x, 45y; O18) - added a new section of road - added 2 new guard towers and their respective calling ranges SE Inner Sea ( 27x, 39y; M15) - updated the roads - updated the local geography SE Inner Sea - just north of the Elarial Boat Bridge (26x, 32y to 35y; L15) - updated the roads - updated the geography SW Inner Sea - just north of the Elarial Boat Bridge ( 23x, 32y; H13) - minor update to the roads As always, we have removed disbanded deeds and added those submitted to the Albia Roads Map of Indy forum.   8. Version 2.0 released on 2017-04-04 - 00:20 GMT (April 4, 2017) It is with this update that we are pleased to announce a major upgrade to the geography. The flat map dump that Rolf released on November 2016 has been incorporated into the Albia Roads Map of Indy. (slightly delayed due to real-life circumstances) We have decided not to do black outlining around the different types of terrain and so the map colours for terrain will be darker than in the previous versions. We have also adjusted the colours for tundra, changing it from white to a pale grey green and the mountain ranges are two-toned grey similar to what is in the map dump. Also included are the 'out of the way' roads that were visible on the map dump. We are still doing minor corrections to the coastal geography, so your patience is appreciated if things are not exactly correct. This week's update also includes: Inner Sea East (19x, 36y; L12) & (20x,38y: M12) - added a new section to the existing bridge - indicated the building/land tiles between the bridge spans - updated the roads at the south end of the bridge We have not forgotten about the road changes in the FM cave canal / Crystal Coast Trail area and will get to them eventually As always, we have removed disbanded deeds and added those submitted to the Albia Roads Map of Indy forum. At the request of Mavv, we have honoured the builder of the main highway around the east portion of the lake by naming it after her: Journeya's Hwy. - replaced the old guard tower icons along the east coast with new ones and calling range indicators after determining their proper location on the map - removed a guard tower icon east of Gideon's Shire - no tower was found - added a guard tower and calling range indicator west of Gideon's Shire (by the clay pit) - removed the guard tower icon from the mountain side on the west side of the lake - no tower there any longer - adjusted the positioning of the towers along Lothlorien Canal - added the calling range indicator to the guard tower east of Lothlorien Canal - added the bridge, causeway combination that connects the island in the centre of the lake to the east coast Inner Sea / Magic Mountain (32x, 23y; I16) - added the bridge over the Phoenicaea canal - added the 2 new sections of bridge that are heading south from the island Southeast of Rufflehome Stubborn Island (10x, 62y; T10) - updated the roads network - added a new guard tower and calling range indicator Dragon Fang - North West (28x, 30y; H15) - added the name Lyric Bay to the map (a statue of a nymph welcomes you to the bay) South East Samling Fjord (30x, 13y; F16) - updated the roads - removed a guard tower icon as the tower is no longer there As always, we have removed disbanded deeds and added those submitted to the Albia Roads Map of Indy forum. Black Dog Island (25x, 28y; J14) - updated the position of Fist of Seafarer obelisk as it was slightly out of place on the map - add a new mission site to the east side of Black Dog Island - Songs Spear - adjusted the position of the 2 northerly guard towers to reflect their correct locations - updated the road system on the island Indy, north of Dragon Fang (33x, 29y and 35x, 27y; J17) - updated the roads where sections have been removed - added the bridge that crosses the lake at 35x, 27y North Crystal Lake (42x, 34y; F19) - added the mission site Winters Stand North Crystal Lake (45x, 33y; F19) - added the cave canal that connects Crystal Lake with (eventually) Crystal Bay South Eastern Steppe (56x, 55y; R24) - corrected the mission obelisk name (thanks to Ersitu for the forum post) As always, we have removed disbanded deeds and added those submitted to the Albia Roads Map of Indy forum. Update Issued at 2017-01-22 @ 23:35 GMT (UTC) (January 22nd, 2017) Slightly delayed by a few hours with the uploading of this week's update, as we were importing a major improvement that incorporates part of Rolf's terrain dump map. Major Change: SE Indy - Imported the terrain for SE Indy from Rolf's Dump map, from the east side of Elysian Bay to the SE Coast line, including inland and coastal geographic features. - Finally completed the roads survey of SE Indy from Elysian Bay to the SE Coast (with a few small parts that will need a return visit by a survey team). - Finally found and properly located the mine containing the Pillar of Strength mission marker. - per a forum request named a prominent mountain "Smocza Gora" on the east side of the SE Steppe, as most of the locals in the area are Polish and we do have features with German and Spanish names on the Indy map, given the multi cultural nature of the population on Indy. This update has other few minor updates. North West Inner Sea (23x, 22y; I13) - Removed the guard tower icon and calling range indicator as the tower is no longer there North East Inner Sea (35x, 40y; H17) - Added the farm extension at Pest Harbour North Inner Sea (30x, 15y; F16) - Removed the Public Trader symbol as it is no longer there North Central Indy (35x, 23y; J17) - Added a new guard tower and calling range indicator Our thanks to a forum submission and a guided tour of the SE Steppe area by Kenshi, who showed five more mission marker locales in the South East, and told us where we could find a sixth, so we could position them on the map.   24. Update Issued at 2016-12-25 @ 14:14 GMT (UTC) (December 25th, 2016) Merry Christmas to everyone! In this update we have started to incorporate the terrain details from Rolf's flat map dump. All the islands in the 4 corners of the map have been done as well as Maple Island and Black Dog Island. In order to maintain the accuracy of the current terrain features, we have decided not to outline them with a dark border. Also, we have chosen to show the sanding that is present along some of the main roads. For the most part we have kept the original map colours, with the exception of the peat where we have opted for the darker brown that is in the map dump, and we have changed the tundra colour which you will see in future updates. Mountains and cliffs are shaded in grays the same as the flat map dump. As always, we have removed disbanded deeds and added those submitted to the Albia Roads Map of Indy forum.
