  1. +1 I really like the small & large variation suggestion too
  2. +1 to revert or replace this functionality. Bug? No way. This was installed with the wagon update just not as highly publicized. CMs on help have been suggesting the use of mooring ropes for a long time so let's not go down this "unintended functionality" path. ./rant=off
  3. It does amaze me how many miss the OP's point. It's not about one mooring rope vs. multiple normal ropes, it's about dev time spent on minutia rather than real fixes. I would have chosen the teleport bug only because that's the one that seems to bite me more often than not. Or the disappearing avatar bug when entering/exiting caves... that one is real handy when embroiled in a battle with a troll. The fight system seems to see the troll bashing away on you but not you trying to hit back or defend. But yeah, fwiw I liked the convenience of carrying a single rope to lead multiple animals. I would really much rather not have to relog each time I forgot myself and disembarked "wrong" near a gate, door or tree tile.
  4. Rather than a sled (in addition to the sled 'cuz I like the idea on snow) the small cart can be used by a single animal. The graphics already support the potential for this. The small cart could not be mounted but rather the animal hitched to it could be put on lead or follow it's owner if tamed and trained to a sufficient skill. Still wishing for saddlebags to help out with farm harvests too
  5. Great thread bwg! I'll give my first +1 to Lily, she managed to tolerate my first brutal week in the world, mentored me up to self sufficiency and went well above and beyond the call of a newb's neighbor. Next one to LordLucas and the alliance full of helpful folks he built. Romp! Your namesake Cog has been a lifesaver (albeit a bit pesky to use lol) Raam (Blahsonson, et al) You're patience with beginners is equaled only by your seemingly bottomless experience. GM staff has always been helpful. Maybe not exactly the help you thought you wanted at the time but they're willing to help whenever possible. And finally to the CMs. Even off duty these folks seem to always be available to answer any question flung into the CM_Help tab. Like most of the posts before, I know I've missed many who have helped make my Wurm days enjoyable.
  6. Welcome back Baron! Overall the news is great (sans bridge update) but I gotta add my 2i worth. While working on permissions show a little love for the perimeter issues. No need go into all the argument here (the whole thing is getting tired) but some thoughtful adjustments there would go a long way toward community peace and harmony. And I'll second the notion of advanced warning for permissions changes. Not that bugs would ever be exploited here. Keep up the good work!
  7. I also saw this on Inde. Fortunately it is only a gatehouse so as long as the barrier walls, doors and permissions function I'm happy. When planning I had to finalize the original tile then add to it. I destroyed and retried a few times before continuing on. Haven't tested the building for complete perimeter yet (will a bed work?). guess I'll find out when I do the 2nd story
  8. I would lean this way instead too. Maybe something on the order of a discount for multiple paid up accounts. ie- with 2 premium accounts, 3rd account would get discounted x%. -1 to full lifetime premium though.
  9. +1 I like it. Some of us would never install them until / unless we quit raising "potentially dangerous creature", but that would be a decision a mayor has the power to make Maybe (yeah, I know the coding could be a bear) a quick check for agros could be made and compared to known penned locations before sounding a false alarm. Let the dreaming begin...
  10. Nope, rare roll farming is just noise and bluster over nothing. While I disagree with coin from tending fields, an extra skill tic or a rare free harvest would be nice. It really has gotten to be a community joke "You have a moment of inspiration..." "The [insert crop] field is well tended"
  11. Difficulty + Risk = potential reward... nah, too difficult. Let's make it easy and reduce the risk. -1
  12. Rather than some permanent landscape marker I would be more inclined to support an icon in the UI similar to an aura effect. One of the draws to this game for me was the complete openness and lack of 'big brother' mentoring. Most other games have a defined timeline, quest chain and the like where this has no direction and leaves the task and method of survival to the devices of the individual. When taking a hike in unfamiliar (and potentially unfriendly) territory, it should be up to the traveler to be aware of his/her surroundings. Yes, a marker system would be helpful but how far should we go to change the very substance that brought so many of us here in the first place? my 2c worth.
  13. I have a little white female CallSwift with mediocre traits. I keep her around because of the implications to a transportation professional here in the states .
  14. Recently I've had the same luck with grey males. Great traits but all grey males for the regular horses. The hell horses are another matter. I'm getting almost all gold with 1 or 2 bad traits now after getting several nice 4-5 spds of varying colour. My skill isn't so awfully high at near 48 so I'll keep an eye for changes as I cross the 50 line.
  15. True, it's not difficult. It is long and tedious if you have a specific need or desire to have that much skill. All that said, the grind is not something everyone wants to go through.
  16. Members PipPip 521 posts LocationKentucky, USA Posted 16 January 2015 - 10:14 AM First Thank You for bringing back memories of some of my favorite horses. My best breeding mare ever was a black one named RunSweet (she still lives at a friends since I left Indy). My first horse ever and longest living was RageBaxter he had 2 positive and 2 negative traits and lived for 5 years as the King of my leather horse field until I left for Deli. Currently I ride GallantSwift and I too have a WingWing. Every horse I had born with Rolf in the name was crappy. I've recently had a foal born with the name KissRolf. Nice little 4 speed with no bad traits.
  17. I realize this is a very minor issue but... Prior to the big update when Challenge was launched we had a distinct muting of outdoor ambient sounds whenever we were indoors. Now there is no difference. Is this an intentional change or just an oversight?
  18. Invisible Bug

I've had this problem as well even when both players entered the mine at the same entrance. My 'mining complex' has numerous access points. Most recently I've seen a couple variations on this where one horse of a cart team disappears until exiting the mine or a horse being lead will vanish until leaving the mine. This can be quite frustrating so I will try the console refresh next time it rears up. Thanks
  19. And crabs, now Wurm's got CRABS! Good year, looking forward to more next year. Happy Holidays
  20. I didn't keep notes like the folks here have but one of my hell horses took over 2 weeks for an 8 day pregnancy. I have not paid enough attention to the others enough to note this sort of oddity. The mare was a wild caught and venerable when bred for the last three times, likely why I paid as much notice because she's not cared for. She ultimately did give me another good foal before passing from this digital plane and on to her next.
  21. It would explain why all my horses bunch in both the open pens to the southeast... the token is northwest of that point. But yeah, 48 tiles with 12 horses and it's not uncommon to find them all huddled on 3 tiles. The other 18 tile pen is a bit further away (both are on deed) and the 6 horses there are often on 2-3 tiles there. A good fix for this would be to have the AI search for 'confinement conditions' especially when on deed. Where this is true the mob could be set to seek separation from other mobs. Yeah in theory it sounds easy enough and I realize the actual coding could be a challenge but hey, it's a goal worth putting up there. :-) If the RL argument wants a start Or maybe it's time to start workin leather
  22. And some of the carebears, among others, actually have lives off the world wide warzone. A 2.5 hour notice like this could well fall within the middle of a day for folks as it did for me. I am happy you did your part for yourself, get you a good hearty back-patting for it. A kindly thought for others in the community would be appreciated. Just a thought Cali
  23. +1 shouldn't be too difficult to create an animal cage (crafted of course) that could be assigned to a specific animal (hitch function?) that would be loaded like a crate to a ship. This way the mob would not necessarily be depsawned to an inventory item status, it would simply 'follow' it's assigned cage (lockable for security). No need to worry about cross-server transport this way either as the mob would break 'lead' if a server border was encountered. my 2i worth :-)
  24. As of this post, some of the affected trees are still recycling to young birch. Some are replanting correctly but I've counted three tiles that reseeded today as birch from other species including 2 firs and one cedar.
