-1 This is a horrible idea for lots of reasons that I'm sure someone else will point out. I understand you're having a rough time with some folks, but if you don't want neighbours, make your perimeter + deed larger. This mechanic already exists for exactly this reason.

I'm going to request the thread locked, and if there's still those out there who want to talk to me about their purchases, please contact me in the methods I've listed in the first post. I've got a few game site publications in the works about the whole ordeal, so I'll post the link to those once they go live (still digging out of a massive snowstorm irl, it's taking some time to get everything together).

It matters to me. It probably matters to anyone else who paid for items, which is why I'm gathering information. I want to know how much money people are out. I want to make sure people know that it can happen, without warning, and without repercussion to anyone who does it. It's not OK, and I don't want this brushed aside until it's forgotten about, thinking "ah well, some folks are out $100-$250, nbd." It's OK that it doesn't matter to you, some of us feel differently. I honestly don't care about the details of the drama surrounding it all and who is telling the truth or not etc etc, I do care that images were removed on January 2nd - NOT by the request of the artist, and that those of us who asked for refunds were ignored. @Egardwhat you did was scam people out of gold, and kept it. I can't even get confirmation that it's ever going to be fixed. I have gotten a "we're talking about it". The designer is here specifying that the art was fine to be used, Wurm has a stipulation in their rules that says 3rd party art is theirs to use, and the whole "whaaa copywrite" is a weak hill for people to be standing on ESPECIALLY when the designer is here saying IT IS OK TO USE. If you're not the designer, then your opinion on whether the image is OK to use or not is sort of moot! So, back on track, I'm still collecting information from affected folks. I've been playing since 2011, and have a tattoo of a capybara, which was why I wanted the set. I've never bought pmk stuff before because it didn't interest me, and I get that it's not appealing to everyone else, which is fine. It's nice that everyone has their own interests and likes. Don't worry, vocal minority out there who like to keep wurm 'pure', you're loud enough, we all know you don't like bunny hats, bear backpacks, etc. The money wasn't for any funding, since they already had plenty. I purchased the set back in May of 2023, so not quite a year ago. The image being blank is not something that happens frequently (ever?) - Wurm University was changed due to some issue with the original design, but they still have a design. There was no notification or indication by staff or anyone else that the image would be removed, that the items would be blank, or even any rules that I can find regarding purchasing or what may happen to said items. Logging in to game and just seeing it gone is a shady way of doing things. Having no indication at all as to whether a new image will (eventually) be placed on the items, even more frustrating. I was told it's a lengthily process that probably involves lawyers and everything is in a discussion stage with no timeline. Not really sure what you mean by the judgement call at the end, I'm not interested in a new set or more of this blank set. I do think there should be more rules in place to prevent stuff like this from happening, and I'll continue to be vocal about that and warn folks against buying any PMK stuff since maybe one day you'll log in and it'll be blank, too.

This post isn't for a discussion on whether or not it should or shouldn't have happened, since it did. I'm just interested in touching base with people who were also affected by it. Thanks!

If you were affected by the removal of the graphic from the Capybara PMK items, I'd love to talk to you. I'm interested in knowing the price you paid for your items (in-game currency value), what you thought you were getting, and when you purchased them (ie: the year/date). Any other information would be great but absolutely not necessary. Just to be up front, I paid 2g for my items, and was told to lie if anyone asked (no one asked). I bought 1 wagon, 4 banners, 4 tall flags, and 3 kingdom flags. Yes, they're blank now. You can message me here on the forums, or you can email me: sm.stargrace@gmail.com - or discord: Stargrace I HIGHLY suggest, after getting zero response from Egard (the seller, in my case), a sympathetic response from Madnath (unable to help, but encouraged me to reach further), and a blanket response from GM Cthrekgoru (also messaged Pomona, but have not had a reply) that if you want PMK items (I assume old PMK can't have their images removed, but hey who knows), you take a good hard look at what it could potentially be like to lose out on that amount of in-game currency without any warning. I've been playing since 2011 and being scammed has always been frowned upon, and discouraged - and this situation feels very much beyond the scope of 'you're responsible for market transactions' which is an unwritten rule as far as I can find on the official forums (please feel free to point me to this section in the rules if it's there some place).

I have no idea what causes this glitch, but it has happened a few times now. Here's what I did where it happened this time: Loaded a knarr on Indy with 5 players + captain. Gale from the East. Sailed East (11.12km/h), zoned to Release. Boat was drifting by default, I set it to full sail. Started sailing NE. Once on Release, boat was at 56km/h - it did not matter what direction I sailed, the speed remains (was headed to public slaying, got there real damn fast, it was awesome but obviously not intended). I turned in a full circle while sailing to see if the speed would change, it did not. It was stuck on 56.14km/h. Mooring fixes the bug. So does relogging. So does leaving the ship.

It says there's discord giveaways, but I haven't seen any talk or events or anything happening in discord, am I in the wrong channels? ** Edit ** There is a bug with discord where if you join the sermon channel you lose access to all the other wurm channels, so I had no idea they existed. I toggled the join button today a few times and it finally popped them back. Shame that I didn't know about this issue until far too late. I guess you also need to click the bug emote? Or you won't see the proper channels. Very confusing.. ^ Is how mine has looked all week when it should have looked like the one below.

Day 4 fun times - more arena goodness, horse racing, & of course slapping people with fish. Disease here spreads pretty fast... I believe tomorrow is the final day, so if you haven't stopped by yet .... get over here!

I don't personally live on Pristine - but you can see rift timers over on WurmNode, I do rifts on a few other servers and they've all followed pretty much the same mechanic, where people will gather a bit earlier than the timer says, place tents and create a 'safe' pen, and then when the rift opens combat will start. I've done it with as many as 20 and as few as 4. It doesn't really require any discord / timer count down, you can just show up at the rift the time it goes live.

This post and a lot of the comments are frustrating to read. Please don't presume to speak for the entire player base. It's really easy to make demands, accusations, and to take issue with what is / isn't done when you're not the one doing whatever it is that isn't happening. No developer or game company WANTS to let down their player base. They don't want to have to issue 'it's late, we know' statements, or to keep people in the dark. They're passionate about the game, and they want it to succeed. They want it to grow - it benefits them just as much (or more) than it benefits players. It's just not that simple. People in this thread keep saying it is without any concept of what the day to day is actually like. The post that said after 20 years they expect all games to have at least 10 paid developers on staff - that's just one of many shining examples of commenters having no clue. Someone else said it wasn't being compared to other games when I saw at least 3 other games mentioned, plus WU. These are not comparisons that work in this situation. How long did we wait for bridges? How long did we wait for multi-floor buildings? You guys are complaining about stuff announced in 2020 or 2021 that we don't have - it's just not that simple. It's antique code, with volunteers, in a game that is niche at best. Even AAA games have issues with players vs. content. Players will devour content and then complain that there's no content. This isn't to say that there are not things wrong (I've made lots of posts myself over the issues I have with holy sites, treasure maps, and cartography, to name a few) or that the game is perfect. It's not. I do think that expectations from most players in this thread do not match the actual situation, and in some instances are calling for unreasonable requests. QoL stuff has been worked on, we've been getting updates. Yes, they're not your definition of content - but with limited time, and limited resources, that's what we've been given. In a game like this, I would expect a lack of content because QoL changes are being pushed. In a perfect world, sure we'd get it all. That's just not a reasonable or realistic request. It's also OK to have issues with all of it but there's also a way to word it so that you're not just making unreasonable demands from an already taxed team just trying to do their best within the limitations they're given.

Having the same issue, came here to report it. Would really like to see this fixed... I understand there's many issues at the moment and it's probably low priority as it's not "game breaking" but it means a lot of right clicks and menu hunting when we didn't used to have to.

I wouldn't like this change - players with 100 faith still need a timer (for prayers) even if they're not seeing the faith one any more (at 100 faith the faith timer doesn't show). ie: holy sites, praying every 20 minutes to purify / boost the site. Likewise, players who are at 30 and are followers, would still need a prayer timer, they're not getting faith gains and that's when the timer doesn't show. 100 faith character with no faith timer - but prayer (which is still useful). 15 faith character who does have a faith timer - is not a priest. If you can gain faith, the timer shows. If you can't gain faith, it doesn't show. Prayer timer is still needed for those where the faith timer doesn't show.

Oof. Where to start. I'm a long time wurm player. I have a TON of passion about this game and I've been writing about it for 12+ years. I'm quieter on the forums, but I approached this whole 'rebranding' with an open mind, because let's face it, we're all jaded over time by our games that we feel this much passion about. I wanted to give it a chance. Optimistic and what not. I went and read through this thread first before formulating my reply - STILL trying very hard to give you guys the benefit of the doubt. I can't. I was incredibly disappointed today. AI generated art? Images that have NOTHING to do with wurm? It looks cheap, and does not represent the game that I love so much AT ALL. I get that this stuff takes work and effort, but if YOU can't feel & display a real passion for our game, how is anyone else supposed to? ** note ** I know it's mentioned that some/all of these images are supposedly placeholders but there's a right way and a wrong way to present that sort of a reveal to the active player base and that was the wrong way. I'm just sitting here shaking my head in dismay. I don't even really have words.
