Hi, Im playing on Exo, at around y38, x16. I have an off deed 3 story guest house which has a 1x1 tower extending from the southern roof. The small tower has a wooden roof and on the east west side has tall stone fences... I was putting low rope fences on the north and south side; that's where I ran into this bug. I was standing on the tile facing south and used my mallet to plan a low rope fence on the tile border. I then went to continue building the fence but had no option to do so, even tho I had my mallet selected, the option to add it to the crafting interface was there however, so I selected add; and received this error "[19:24:42] There is a fence or wall there. Action not allowed." So, I manually opened the crafting interface and added the mallet, and then selected low rope fence it then allowed me to create the fence but it showed up on the north side of the tile vice the south side. Sence I was going to build one there anyway no big deal; but it still wont allow me to create the one on the south side. Something is wacky here.
