  1. I love forums, I love posting and since I found a really great community here who helped me with some amazing advises, I just took advantage of this opportunity to chat with smart, kind, nice people as much as I can. If you feel I brake any rules regarding the number of posts or the content, please report me to the moderators. Otherwise, if they just trouble you, please just stay away of my topics (there is an ignore function on forum too - you don't like me, you don't have to read me, but it's not nice to pick on me). Thank you for your understanding. Cheers, Alex
  2. Acaos, First of all thank you a lot for the modifications. Now, please don't curse me, but I have one more request - Kiddo's Harbor is the newest (and really last) addition to my real estate portfolio. Here are the details: - name: Kiddo's Harbor - located in - X14 Y33 top left corner of the square - size: 43x23 - no mailbox / trader / merchant or whatsoever And with that being said and done I promise not to bother you again with any more deeds.
  3. Hey Aetherwalker, While I actually do care about aesthetics too (we, girls, generally like pretty things ) I can't say I don't appreciate efficiency too... so if you think you could take a look and help with some hints towards this, it would be equally appreciated. /Alex
  4. Thank you a lot! And if you ever happen to travel to Romania I can promise you the biggest serving of pancakes ever!
  5. Since I'm no tech girl and I wouldn't really know how to import it in another program, whatever would make it more readable - tab (if possible) or if not spaces. And... more important... may I have? ;
  6. Exactly this. May I have it? ; And if it is self developed may I suggest two more "features"? 1. Two more columns after skill and change: before & after (that should be easy if you was able to develop something like that) 2. A save to txt button?
  7. Thank you for the hints: The conformation of land (quite a lot of mountains, uneven terrain) will probably make it impossible to have a huge central area, but will probably need more separated buildings, locations. Nope, no villagers. Nope, no priest. Nope, not coastal, is on top of the mountain. Connected already to highway leading to shore (where I have a second tiny deed just for a private dock)
  8. Hello friends, I'm a new player (less than one month since I created my first character) and I just got my own piece of land (well, not exactly "just" but you got the idea). The problem is that I'm not a smart girl and my broken, twisted mind is set more on executing things (yeah... crafting tons of bricks or planks one after each other sounds like the perfect "job" for me) then imagining them. If you want a compassion with real life, I may be a mason, or carpenter, but definitely not an architect or a city planner. That's why I came here, to ask for help to get at least some ideas about how I should organize my space... Yes, I know, it's embarrassing... that's a sandbox... that's about what the game is... imagining and building... I should not be here... asking for help about probably the most important feature of the game... but well, I learned which my limits - what I can and what I can't do... not everyone was born smart or with a visionary mind... And well... it's not the first embarrassing situation I encountered... it just sounds like a normal day from real life. ) The idea is like this: - I have a free (disposable) character with no skills, assets or anything else parked on my deed whose password I can share with anyone willing to help so you can instantly "teleport" here and see what the situation looks like - Just take a look around (no more than 5 minutes needed) and give me your tips (like "here it would be a good place for the house, here it would be a good place for the farming area, here it would be smart to raise the land a bit", etc - again no more than 5 minutes needed) - so really it should not take you more than 10 minutes - I'll listen to all suggestions and in the end pick what I feel would also suit me So... what do you say... can you please help with an idea? ; If yes please send me a PM so I can give you the password. Thank you a lot in advance, Alex
  9. Gromdehar, I love your idea - much better expressed then mine. The difference between a smart person (you) and a dumb one (me). Protunia, I think we ser the things from totally different perspectives. You see it from the perspective of someone having lots of assets, lots of premium characters, who plays for many hours per day and who takes the game really serious and who indeed may find a way to trick the system and increase their wealth even more. I see it from the perspective of the semi-casual player which has only one character, with a small deed, who plays the game just for fun and which under no circumstance would even consider the hassle of holding multiple characters / deeds and find ways to exploit the system. At the end of the day, since that's not a competitive game, I don't find a huge problem if you for example would manage to trick this into your advantage and instead of 10.000 tilesof deeds you'll have 15,000 and instead of 10 banked golds you'll have 15. But I know I would care a lot if I would loose my two cows, one horse, three lucky piggies and my doggie pet because I wanted to enjoy two weeks in the Alps. And when I talked about people loosing their things I didn't talked about big landlords, but the average John or Jane Doe, casual players like me. Anyway it was just an idea, nothing more, and from your feedback, I think I can even say it was a dumb one, just like me.
  10. Personally I don't see any advantage in keeping everything freezed for a unlimited amount of time, but there are probably advantages out of my power of understanding as a noob. That's why I didn't really thinked at that. Anyway, now that you bringed that in discussion, maybe add some more restrictions like: - vacation mode should have not only a minimum period (one week), but also a maximum period (one month) - vacation mode should not be able to activate on very new deeds (less than dunno... one month, three months) - vacation mode should not be able to activate on very new characters (again less than a couple of months) - vacation mode should not be able to activate on characters with less then 15 days of played /time Anything like that which would prevent abuses. In the worst case it may not affect items / structure, but only animals (which are the first to die). The thing is that I think we all agree that real live > games, and I don't know about you, but I do have at least two vacations per year when I'm out of town and generally out of technology (or at least not in the mood for games ) for two-three weeks. And I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this situation. Not to mention the worse situations - like someone getting sick or having a serious problem IRL. I'm quite sure that quite a decent percent of players were lost this way - taking a break from the game (either because they had real life things going on or because they got bored), tried to come back, found everything lost, quit for good.
  11. Hello friends, My first suggestion ever... Summer is not here yet, but it's not close either and I think at the moments when I'll just go out for a couple of weeks and it really makes me sad to think that when I'll be back I'll find all my animals dead (I don't have any yet, but just thinking )... and for someone considering farming and animal caring the main career this would pretty much even a possible reason for quitting the game all together. So, unless WURM target are only no-lifers who never go for a vacation (which I doubt), here's my idea: * one could activate a vacation mode There would be three main limitations on this to not be able to be abused: - one couldn't activate more than dunno 4-6 vacations per year - once activated the vacation mode could not be canceled before at least 7 days - once activate the vacation miode the character could no longer log in (or, if not too hard to implement, add something which I seen in other games - a chat only mode - so you are imobilized, you can't move, interact with any item, just chat) * eventually vacation mode could be a premium players only feature, so you can't activate it if you're free even if you have a deed * vacation mode would work only on deeds (be activated from deed settings) and would be turned on only if all citizens activate it (it is presumed that if there is at least an active citize he could take care of things) * during vacation mode the deed maintenance costs (in silvers) would be doubled (so the developers gets something from this too) and eventually, if that's not enough, there may also be a fixed fee for activate it (pretty much like it is for templars) * the advantage would be that during vacation mode there would be no death among the animals, no decays on structure and items on deeds, etc so when you'll be back you'll find the deed in the exact same condition as you left it * if you want a "role play" explanation of this it could be "order templars to take over daily duties" (eventually may have at least one templar for every x acres of land to be able to activate it) Later edit, two more addons: 1. If you think in this form this could be exploited, there may be harsher conditions for being allowed to activate the vacation mode, which would pretty much filter the not-legit people (new account, new deed, just to bypass the limitations): - vacation mode should have not only a minimum period (one week), but also a maximum period (one month) - vacation mode should not be able to activate on very new deeds (less than dunno... one month, three months) - vacation mode should not be able to activate on very new characters (again less than a couple of months) - vacation mode should not be able to activate on characters with less then 15 days of played /time 2. In the worst case have this apply only to animals, not also to items / structures. Really... it is not a suggestion to make the game easier... just a suggestion to not force us to choose between real life and wurm life. I think we all need a vacation once in a while... that even without thinking at some more pesimistic scenarios - like getting sick, have an accident, etc. So... what do you think? As I said, is my first suggestion and I'm pretty much a noob, so feel free to -1 and criticize me as much as you want; I won't hold it against you. Cheers, Alex
  12. The problem with this one is that my play schedule is something like that: - play now 20 minutes, log off - log back in one hour later, play for another 40 minutes, log off - log back after 15 minutes, play for 10 minutes, log off - log back after 3 hours, play for 20 minutes, log off So really, in one day I end up with like 10-15 dump files, and it would be really useful to just keep the first and the last and compare them to sum the day.
  13. And that's the offline one I found - lol. ) And they are great tool, but the problem is that they solve a different problem - tracking skills over long periods of time, while I'm only looking for a daily report to see every evening what I've done during that day.
  14. Yeah, that one was the online one I found. But it's not what I want, I just want to be able to see something like: - in the given period (last day, last week, last month) you gained: * 3.34 skill in farming * 2.19 skill in tailoring * 4.98 skill in mining or - in the given period (last day, last week, last month) your skills changed from: * 20.00 to 23.34 in farming * 15.00 to 17.19 in tailoring * 25.00 to 29.98 in mining As simple as this.
  15. Hello friends, You know those skill dumps we can save automatically when exiting the game... well, by comparing two such files, one could figure out what skill progresses she has done in any given time (for example by comparing the last skill dump from yesterday with my last skill dump for today I could see what skills I improved today). I was wondering if there is any tool that does that - taking two skill dump files and show you the modifications? Before bothering you here with the question I did tried to find the answer on Google but was only able to find two tools (one online, one offline) which are drawing graphs with evolution over time. And I don't want this - I just want to see numerical value changes between two specific files. So... any idea of such a tool? Thank you in advance for your answers. Cheers, Alex
