  1. Its not a bad logic, it makes perfect sense.
  2. Non harvestable patches of moss, that animals can graze from, in caves near water level could be a thing. Growing plants underground, using oil lamps to replace sunglight? thats just plain silly. And I have to say it again, its not about realism, its about suspension of disbelief. If you see a mythical creature in the lord of the rings, you buy into the idea, if elves show up in minivans with modern assault rifles, its no more unrealistic than mythical creatures, but it throws you off of the world you are trying to get inmerse into. As long as people cant tell the diference between those two concepts, they will keep saying the same dumb s*it "but dragons!", missing the important points. tagging @Yiraiafor no particular reason.
  3. The idea that Wurm is cheaper than most games, and that you can experience the game, or that the game is designed to be experienced with a single character and only one subscription is absolutely ridiculous. While its true for most other subscription based games, wich are slowly vanishing since its an outdated system anyway.
  4. -1 The reason why dogs dig, is not to set the foundations for human infrastructure, so I dont see how they could help, and many of us still remember the cave-bug crisis.
  5. -1 , at first I thought the OP meant vitreaux, wich could be small pieces of stained glass, framed and stuck to eachother with some lead alloy. But big, wall size panes of clear glass is way out of the aesthetics of wurm. And it has nothing to do with realism, before someone claims that "dragons so everything is possible".
  6. Like Ultima Online had, sure +1, I remember them being a realy fun item.
  7. I agree with OP, its not the first time that a cosmethic cash shop has been asked for, and I really think it would benefit both the devs pockets and the players gameplay. If that leads to a lower subscription fee, all the better, but I sincerly dont belive that will happen. At the most there will be some other form of reward, more silver with subscription or something like that. SLIGHT OFF TOPIC AHEAD! OP mentions and tries to adress the decline in PvP population, and how important a population is for PvP to exist. The nature of Wurm PvP is considerably harsher than most games. Making competitive gear, starting from zero is a lot of work, much more work than any other game that has ever had the "full loot" feature, wich has been a deterrent for me to go try the PvP side for years. And I think that if that aspect of the game was revised, it would lead to more people venturing into PvP. Other games have solved this issue with "blessed" items that stay with you even after death, and by offering insurance for items, where the money is transfered to the person that killed you, instead of the item, and you get to respawn with your item in your inv. Im sure none of those two things would be welcome by the PvP crowd, but Im sure that some form of compromise could be met, to ease the burden of getting killed in PvP, and without robbing the victors of spoils.
  8. Yiraia, I think you should return to the real world to discuss this general topics, if you keep speaking from that wild speculation land you are in, we will never reconcile with the reality of the game. Making concrete a step easier is NOT going to make the few remaining players to turn all their effort into using concrete to raise mountains everywhere, that is a fact, if it wasnt forbidden to gamble, Id bet you on it. If that is your concern and reason to dislike this suggestion, then dont even worry about it, it wont happen, you can +1 this suggestion without fear of mountains cropping up everywhere as a result from it.
  9. The same thing could be said about any fix, or balance fix proposed for the game ever. So what is the point of saying that people wont wait 5 years, or that if people need it they will use it. It makes no sense, we all know the speed at wich suggestions are implemented, if that is a deal breaker, then shut the forums down.
  10. It would be the same for everyone, so the people with the most "will" or whatever you want to call it, will still make the biggest mountain. So the peeps that like to slave away in mindnumbing tasks can still be recogniced for their syndrome/skill. While the more relaxed players can still get things done without spending that much time just to level a few floors on a mine.
  11. I just dont belive the OP, I think he is exagerating or he didnt check the log to see how many hits it took. The RNG sometimes is against the player, but the OP has already dismissed every possible scneario where that damage was possible.
  12. +1 to easier mortar -1 to alchemists building walls.
  13. I dont think it would help player retention, people dont quit because they run out of sleep bonus, they quit for completely diferent reasons, usually not even tied to game mechanics.
  14. I also engage in long debates when the situation requires it. This OP does not need much discussion in my opinion. OP wants more benefits for premium, I disagree on the added benefit he proposes, and thats it. What I really wonder is why you think you have to moderate how I respond to a thread, since when is that your role?
  15. @Retrograde thats good news, that the item is already created. So, what does the item currently change? Apearance? Gender? name?
  16. So, for you, keeping your personal profit of RL money out of the game is more important than quality of life improvements. That is perfect, but i dont think its the reasoning that should rule the suggestions forum.
  17. That phrase should be the new name of the suggestions forum
  18. Yes, it is endemic to PvP. You will get a-holes in any type of game, but PvP communities in general, pick up the worst garbage from an already rather unclean roster of players. Its not a Wurm problem, try other games that have both PvE and PvP communities, and the same thing happens. I first experienced that on UO in the old days, and I still havent seen the trend change.
  19. Basically there are two Clusters, Epic and Freedom Epic is dead and isloated. Freedom has both PvE servers and a PvP server, wich you can travel to by boat if want to change your playstyle or want to go to a diferent server to be with new friends or simply like to move around. You will see a lot of complaints in the forum, but the game is unique. If this is your thing, you wont find a game like Wurm anywhere else.
