But you were perfectly fine with it being slipped in, mentioned in no news post, and no patch note, which really just contradicts this entire "balance" facade. Alexgopen's table is a great visual representation of "balance" by the wurm team. I don't see why it can't be done next update if it was implemented all willy nilly? How do you expect the HOTS players to PvP on an even remotely fair ground? "hey guys we're gonna overhaul the priest system Soon(TM), but in the mean time, no priests for this one kingdom" What you just did is basically the equivalent of having a red headed kid, a brown haired kid, and a black haired kid have their pick at juice boxes, but, you randomly take the red-headed kids juiceboxes away and then tell him he can't have anything to drink for an undefined amount of time because the new flavors taste better for everyone even though the other two children are sitting in front of him sipping on their juiceboxes. What is the redhead supposed to do in the meantime? Die of dehydration? With what you just said, apparently so, and it's quite tragic too considering you could simply give him the orange flavored capri suns until the new ones come in. This defies logic, it quite literally baffles me. With balance changes like this taking the lead, no wonder you guys don't allow a WU anticheat, LOL.

In reading the Official Responses from the Dev. Team, I have gathered that: 1. We know the current stituation is unfair. 2. The current situation will continue until we have developed the Perfect Solution in 6 months or so. 3. At the point the Perfect Solution is completed we will release it and all will be Balanced and Fair. Therefore, my forcast for my game play is: 1. For the next 9-18 months I can expect to see fewer and fewer Lib Players. 2. During that time period I can expect to continue to receive continued deliveries of Terraforming events as I can't compete competitively in the Valrei Game and there is no point anyway. 3. During that same period I can expect that my enemies will continue to accumulate Tomes and special armor materials unapposed, as well as add more WL & BL Player Gods to their menagerie. 4. At some point in that time period the Balanced and Fair system will be released. I will be told that all is good now. The fact that my enemies have had several years of unapposed play is irrelevant get out there and compete. As a special reward we will provide you with a new New Affliction to rebuild your deeds on because the New Affliction looks more like a moonscape than Old Affliction. Nobody noticed because those who were already priests are still priests, now that there are people returning and trying to priest up again because its getting closer to summer, they are finding out they can't. I assure you people would have complained about it sooner if they had known, but, many people do not wish to be priests when the population is in its yearly down swing on a PvP server, they usually grind their accounts around this time and priest up for the inevitable population spikes. But just because it was changed, and because you have hardly any new blood coming in to PvP servers 3/4ths out of the year and nobody complained because nobody knew as it didn't affect those were currently priests and still does not does not mean it was a good change or one that could be justified, it's still a garbage change. Sure its a bug, but, i feel like it was pretty easy to see that it deeply inconveniences an entire portion of the playerbase and is archaic in its design. If it is a bug, is it also a bug that those who were already playergod priests are allowed to remain priests? Why did you not remove their faith because it was unintended they have it? Why was it not announced that such a bug that everyone thought was a feature for so long, and that people had invested hundreds of dollars into accounts and man hours into grinding accounts for, was changed? I'm drifting off here, but, it seems like the only bugs being fixed are the ones that when fixed, deeply inconvenience players, and not the bugs that deeply inconvenience players by being around. You dont develop around me, i get that, and i also understand people remember the bad more than the good, but, for real man, what the ###### was this change?

but you rushed out this small change that does nothing but gimp the existing HOTS playerbase without putting in the other incoming balance changes to make it somewhat fair and actually balanced? Does this change seem fair to you? Does it seem something like you would expect these people to put up with? Playing PvP with no heals in combat, not the greatest selection of area coverage spells, no oakshell, no charm for hellhorses, having to once again pay more for a different kingdom priest alt the vpn required to use it to enchant their gear to participate? Does it seem like these players enjoy being limited to the most gimped god in the game on top of having disadvantages from the implementation of the cooking system just weeks prior? Why do you expect these players to continue to pay when at every turn they just get shafted by changes made like this with not even a ###### thought of balance or planning put into it, and when they ask for a change, you tell them to wait for a sweeping balance change that for all we know may never come? We are still waiting on the epic fixes and it's been almost a year now. Will they be able to play the game on the same page as everyone else in a year? In two years? I understand you have your roadmaps and priorities, but this is something that shouldn't be that hard to change, and its a ###### ENORMOUS inconvenience for those who have to deal with it every day.

I voted No just being an ass without knowing what the hell this was all about, the fact that a stealth change was put in place and was not noted in patch notes seems to be another instance of staff trying to avoid conflict with the player base. I would change my vote to Yes, but the poll has no option for changing this. How can this be a temporary fix while the players who choose to play HoTs have to wait months or even years for 'priest balance' to occur? This is another case of the dev's being unaware of the consequences of knee jerk reactions to the game.

When will that be ? You keep stating you will address a bunch of these things but we haven't seen anything regarding or any sign it will be addressed. Also just because something was intended to be a way doesn't mean it has to be that way forever. Before player gods this wasn't an issue. Now that we have player gods and you can see the issue any reasonable person would agree its bad and dumb for HoTS to be locked only to Libila they already have a bunch of other nerfs with being HoTS and bugs that you haven't addressed yet. Things change with time and new content over the years, nothing has to be set in stone. This is a Sandbox game where if you pick HoTS you are completely restricted. Wheres the sandbox feel in that.

FUD = Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt. In the Wurm PVP world fear, uncertainty and doubt continually raises it's head, largely because people worry as a result of not hearing clear plans for what will be happening in PVP. The goal of this thread is to have a civil, patient and constructively listening discussion where hopefully the Wurm Development team, assisted by Community Relations, can answer a few questions that will hopefully reduce or remove the PVP FUD. Originally this was posted as part of a suggestion thread and at the suggestion of the moderation team I am moving it to it's own independent thread instead. Hopefully this helps the PVP community. As a very interested bystander looking in I would like to post a few suggestions/questions since this thread has really gone from a very specific question into a more general thread about first HOTS and then eventually PVP in Wurm in total. @Retrogradein your official capacity please reply with your best answer to the following questions: 1) Is Wurm/Code Club still committed to having PVP in Wurm? 2) Is Wurm/Code Club development of PVP in maintenance mode (meaning no new features etc except as part of code fixes)? 3) Does Wurm/Code Club have a PVP swimlane in the roadmap which lays out development plans for the PVP side of Wurm? 4) Does Wurm/Code Club have a realistic development roadmap that includes major PVP changes in 2017 Quarter 1, 2017 Quarter 2, 2017 Quarter 3, 2017 Quarter 4, 2018+. If so, even at only the highest level, major changes are expected in ......? 5) Will Wurm/Code Club officially consider replacing current Elevation map with one that will better support PVP? 6) Will Wurm/Code Club sponsor a community competition to design a new Elevation map? 7) Will Wurm/Code Club consider other server changes that might support better PVP as well (like a new single PVP server that runs at 5x skill gain etc)? By answering these questions I am hoping clarity will be provided that can replace the ongoing fear of PVP dying with some concrete/official information that will provide hope to those who remain PVPing in WO. ~Nappy

A big issue for me is, they came to us already almost a year ago saying it was a priority for them to work on pvp and than we had to basically pester them every news post for months just to get 1 minor issue like the info minister seeing people who enter kingdom influence fixed after pvp was supposedly a "focus" and they went around to everyone asking how they could fix it than they forgot about it or decided on other priority's for the last year instead after hyping all of us up that things would finally happen ya that was a great idea. So for me, and a lot of other users I play with a plan is so past due that action is the only thing that would shut most of us up after being strung along for so long and lied to over and over about when or if something would be fixed going back even before the current people where in charge the cycle just went on when the torch was passed down and we had hope for a little bit with retro coming in to talk to us that maybe just maybe you would do something positive for once for pvp servers without us having to force you to do it through weeks of pestering and asking where it is. Nope clearly to much to ask for... Don't get me wrong, I would love them to give out an action plan for what they are going to do but I won't believe it nor will I stop giving them crap about it till I see something concrete being actually done. Talk is cheep and we have had so much talk and almost 0 action on it. It almost comes down to the old saying "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" I'm upto letting them fool me about 8 times now so I'm feeling pretty stupid and don't know if I can place my trust in them till they decide to stop talking about it and actually do something about it.

You still haven't told me what you expect these players to do in the meantime? Are they supposed to avoid PvP for the next year? Ask people kindly not to raid them because they are unable to heal themselves?

I got a great idea guys, lets make player gods, give them 95% of libs spells let both white light kingdoms use them plus the normal 3 gods they have to pick from. Than we limit lib to 1 god which has no unique spells left because we kept letting awesome player gods stack up due to a broken mechanic handing out keys to heaven like candy until all the base gods are absolutely useless because better versions of them exist as player gods now. Than you expect them to fight people who have access to every good spell lib had, plus all the healing and buff spells of the white light priest while they only have access to the limited and already nerfed tool set a lib priest had in the first place. Sound about right? Sounds like wurm online balance to me lol.

Remove kingdom restrictions on religion as a whole so everyone can follow any religion they wish to.

Retro, I think, this continues b/c people aren´t willing to live with it and want it taken back. We don´t understand why you changed just this single part, while everything else has to wait for the big overwhole of pvp/priest. A main problem, nobody talked about so far, is the long term prospects of hots are. I dunno if thats clear for you, but if we can´t play pvp for a half year or a year its not just we dont have why we did choose that server, it also means that we won´t be on a competive level after. One year of waiting means the other kds can craft armors of moonmetal over and over again, while we are without them. We even cant hunt really dragons, b/c if other kds get informations about it, they come to us and kill us... So as this is already going on for a while, it would take as some months to get on a level that is worth fighting even if the new priest system would balance pvp tomorrow. Therefor a lot of hots are really anoyed.

I find it funny that Budda calls balance flavor of the day, when BL has been getting needlessly nerfed for years, while complaining about it and explaining why its unbalanced the entire time. I can go back and find you posts where these concerns were raised years ago, but it looks like you probably dont care. Libila saccable nerfed because freedom thought it was unfair when nahjo had it, and then despite all nahjos getting free faith changes, libila priests did not Libila has no priest passives, while all of the WL priests and playergods have very powerful priest passives (such as +25% dmg, free res stone, passive animals, +10% overall skillgain, +25% skillgain to fighting related skills) The strongest part of Libila's spellset (single target spells) nerfed heavily by cooldowns and resistances HotS only method of healing on boats (zombie milk) removed HotS' ability to convert to the new player gods was removed, limiting their spellset to Libila while the other kingdoms have access to every spell except rebirth WL can heal on boats, even as the boat is moving, so they can recover from damage taken. BL cannot do this WL can oakshell horses to have the speed of a naked horse, but the protection of a good barding. BL cannot do this WL can use priests that have passive animals, which results in being able to use two hellhorses. BL cannot do this WL have access to light of fo to heal them in group fights on land. BL cannot do this, as scorn of libilla was heavily nerfed long ago and does very little healing now, as well as requiring an enemy to be hit to trigger healing WL got access to all of BL's single target spells and enchants through playergods Can't get new cooking system ingredients on mycelium HotS taming penalty makes taming pvp required animals like hellhorses very difficult, and they will often go untame on you either mid combat or on the way to it. WL doesnt have this nerf Only homeserver enemy players are allowed to grief with alts or metagame on (JKH and MRH have official rules against this) I'm sure there are more ways you've ###### over hots players, but it's been a long time since I've even been premium and played so you'd have to ask the current hots players. You've already driven me away with all this ######, like you've done to many others. Hey guys let's give two kingdoms access to all of the spells, and then give a third outnumbered kingdom only 1/4 of the total spellset, because that's the way I want my made up lore to be. If you question me you're just trying to "upset balance" and get your "flavor of the day" added.

Ok I found the issue and where you'll need to see what you changed at CC on the 1.3 patch. For now those who are having the issue turn off Feature 51 Combat system changes for creatures. This is the issue some where you'll changed something in this feature and for those of us who have Our servers set to use this feature are having the issue turning it off and on several times to double check and this is the issue. Until it gets fixed recommend turning off 51 Combat system changes for creatures.

Great thats good to hear you have your road map. I know people get pulled to do 4-5 projects at once but thats why you have a community relations person, He should get this info you provided and put it forward for us or prep a proper post (like a news thread) for a dev to post. Saroman gave us little sneak peaks to the work he did with Hell Horses and such and that was awesome, I know a lot of people were stoked and looking forward to it. Do that with this roadmap, give us some sneak peaks and info on whats planned ahead for the first half of the year, hell maybe even for the end of the year. You can't catch a fish without some bait, or else it will eventually move on.

Again @Budda you keep stating "when". We have heard that in the past many times and things haven't changed. Every proper company with a development has a development / project outline, a time frame or road map essentially. You want to the community to trust you and have faith in you give us something more then vague answers like "when" "we plan" and such. How about letting us know from a development point of view what will be worked on in this first half of the year give us something to look forward too. Every project suffers delay, and you have shown us before it doesn't matter how much a change is supported and well put that you have a set plan and will do as you intend. You might not get completely positive support but you will have been open and straight forward with the community and I am sure people will appreciate that much more.

I get it, but it does seem like "Lore" is only deployed when BL is being or about to be shafted and is dismissed as irrelevant the rest of the time.
