    The increased rarity rune is for turning the item the rune is on rare, not things made with that item. So putting that rune on the still will help when imping the still and getting a rare roll, having a higher chance to make that still rare..

    Unsure if this belongs under server bugs, but currently it is impossible to discover certain recipes through the use of lore, because the game will recognize an existing recipe before suggesting to add extra ingredients.. An example is listed in the spoiler below. Either the recipes need to be changed that the lore function adds them in an order that prevent an existing recipe from appearing first, or it should give a double lore message; one that tells you that you can use the ingredients as is now to make (xxx) OR to add the next ingredient. I have listed one example but I think this is happening more often, particularly with sandwiches.

    Wurm Assistant - Create a custom timer that looks at event window for [22:57:16] You drop a meditation rug. Then set the timer for 3 min and enjoy! It will be way better than event window, since you have a popup and sound if you want.

    It really was fun. Thanks to my fellow impers, who imped stuff I left around, even when it wasn't on purpose, to the person who gave me potions, so I could be a blacksmithing bear, troll and barrel, and to Shrimpiie and all the helpers for doing a great job! The deed looked great and was nicely organized. Also, thanks to Enki for killing us, and transporting us back. A lot.

    Same at Newspring. We have a small row of market stalls near the starter deed, as well as a large market deed opening soon, and a port-side market deed trying to get business, owned by a local. Here's what has happened with the "Newspring by Glasshollow Market" deed so far: Glasshollow Market founds all their new market deeds, including the one at Newspring. Some people in chat are a bit skeptical, just given how many there are. I notice that he has founded the "Newspring by Glasshollow Market" deed on a highway, and that he mentioned something about working on local highways. I and some other Newspring locals tell Paulofdune/Sila that we appreciate work on public projects, but request that they please consult locals for their needs/wishes prior to working on infrastructure, as a matter of courtesy. Glasshollow Market people (Sila/Paulofdune? Rocky?) dig up and replace the portion of highway they deeded on (and outside their deed as well), without anyone's permission, even destroying a highway connection near their deed. This very clearly violated game rules and upset some of the locals, including myself. I'm invested in the Newspring area having good highway infrastructure, and have worked on a highway there myself, partly to avoid situations where people drop deeds and goof up the existing infrastructure. I confront Sila/Paulofdune about this. He doesn't seem to care much. In this thread, he said that the Newspring highway work was approved, even though a GM sign was never placed there and no GM told me as such in my support ticket, and then, later on, Silda/Paulofdune blanks his own posts here. I have screenshots of his original posts, made by someone other than myself, if anyone doubts the veracity of my quotes. So now, we've got a small, nearly-empty, paint-by-numbers market deed on a vandalized highway that looks like it fell from the sky because it was made with no respect for local settlers, landscape, or infrastructure. The center of it has "highway" bits extending in cardinal directions that are mostly dead-ends or don't properly line up with existing highways (due to their vandalism). They also removed a lot of trees, sanding a bit of area in front of the deed as well, and removed part of a public grape plantation, even beyond their perimeter. Essentially, these guys have given no indication that they care for the game rules themselves or the needs/wishes of the people who live where they're building these things. I honestly can't believe the audacity of someone who would flagrantly and publicly dismiss the concerns of the people who live in the area, violating very clear game rules in the process, while simultaneously advertising to those people nonstop to use his services at the expense of other, local market owners. I'm still waiting on confirmation from GMs regarding whether or not they'll be allowed to get away with the highway vandalism, and I hope you guys near the other starter deeds don't need to do the same.

    I have been messing around in C# recently, creating a program that reads from the log files in order to play sounds that currently are not implemented in the game. E.g "[16:05:07] The water splashes as the fish fights in the water." resulting in a water splash sound, or "[15:42:18] You find woad!" resulting in a grass rustle sound. I have been messing around with trying to get drop / pick-up sounds for specific items to work, but that would be quite a challenging task so I will probably avoid it unless I see some interest in this. Will probably be posting a video showing it "in action" this week. If you think this sounds interesting, a way you could help massively is to name as many soundless event messages as possible. I will not post the files yet since it is currently very rough, poorly made and totally experimental. However if anyone want to have the source code, just send me a PM. Tell me what you think.

    Wurm's gameplay itself is niche and would not appeal to a wider audience. At low skill levels, your action timers are dreadfully long and your success rates are abysmal. At high skill levels you are looking at skill gains in the ten-thousandths to millionths decimal place. People want instant gratification and Wurm does not provide that.

    We as staff strive for consistency but there are times when things might be done that are unlike previous cases of similar nature. You as a player may discuss this with the support staff present or contact their superior for clarification as there might be more to the story than just what you are seeing. There is also as Legios mentioned the survey option on ingame support tickets that you can leave your feedback/comments on the service you received for that problem. Talking more with the staff in question, PM'ing their superior, and leaving feedback on support tickets are the ways you can understand why situations are dealt with in certain manners and is far more constructive than a thread here.

    What OS? I think there is a Minecraft Pocket Edition that runs on Win10 but is basically a stripped down mobile version? Also something called Survivalcraft that looks to be a lightweight mobile-style minecraft clone that runs on newer windows (win 8/10 but not win7) This site claims to list The 30 Best Browser Games In The World though I suppose one should take a title like that with a giant grain of salt. Though looking through Google Search turns up lots of other websites all claiming to list the worlds best browser games for you. I know you are probably looking more for personal recommendations. I used to play a couple of crafting-survival type ones called Lugdunon and Wayward that were fairly fun HTML5 games, so i suppose googling for HTML5 Games might also turn up ideas. itch.io claims to have almost 2000 t browse through just for windows alone. There is a pretty cute one called RAFT that is currently getting a lot of attention on YouTube, where you craft aboard a floating raft-city while a circling shark tries to give you grief. The game lists no system requirements and I think is supposed to run on very lowend systems, however i HAVE seen some people complaining of lag on every lowend laptops once they start having very complex multistory rafts with all possible do-dads, so it might not be an option for you but I think its currently free (donations) so not much of a risk to try it,

The information contained here is only a snip-it of the information available, but is meant to be a simplified "best-of" resource. Please feel free to post questions/comments/suggestions/recommendations! It should be noted that it is possible to travel between servers (all skills intact) if you should so desire to switch at any point- with the exception of traveling between Epic and non-epic servers which does not allow transfer of inventory or epic skills. Skills will transfer from non-epic to epic in some instances, details on this can be found in the "PVP Information" subsection. More information on travel will be provided below. It is best to read through this article in its entirety. Travel between servers in the same cluster is accomplished by boat or in some cases player made "boat bridges". Travel between Epic and any Freedom cluster server is done through the use of an "Epic Portal" . Skills and items do not transfer when using an epic portal. When traveling to a new server by boat you can either sail the "old fashion" way straight across server borders to connecting servers or you may use the newer "plot course" feature. "Plot course" allows you to travel between any two servers (in the same cluster), even those that do not border each other. If you are going to sail the "old fashion" way you can see which borders will take you to which other servers by using you ingame map, or one of the maps below. ("O" > Map - you can toggle between individual server maps and a map of the entire cluster you are on) These two maps in the spoiler below pre-date the implementaion of the "plot course" feature, but are still perfectly useful. Links to Server Travel Maps: Travel map for Freedom Cluster (made by Boombza) In-game freedom servers connections Guide (You can also use your ingame map: ("O" >Map) Links to suggested Server Maps: Freedom Isles: Independence Deliverance Exodus Chaos Celebration Pristine Release Xanadu Epic: Desertion Elevation Serenity Affliction PvP Information: (Chaos and Epic Servers) There are five servers in which PvP is allowed: Chaos (in Freedom) and the Epic servers (Elevation, Desertion, Affliction, Serenity). To travel between Freedom (non-epic) and Epic you use Epic Portals. One item of importance to note in your selection of PVP server would be the presence or lack thereof of "Scenarios". In a nutshell, the Epic servers have scenarios enabled- these scenarios can result in either bonuses or penalties. Whether or not this would be desirable in your gameplay is personal preference. While it is possible to start out on a PVP server as a brand new player many established players advise against doing so. It is of course your choice, but you may find it a more challenging place to learn basics. This approach may or may not wind up to be quite your "cup of tea". Please also note that items are non-transferable between epic and non-epic. Epic skills will not transfer to non-epic servers. Skills will transfer when crossing from non-epic to epic conditionally: 1. The non-epic skill is higher than the epic skill. 2. You do not have a "3x" modifier (from death skill loss) on Epic. The "3x" modifier indicates you will regain xp at 3x speed until you reach your pre-death-penalty level. So if you do have a 3x on epic and it is preventing a non-epic skill from transferring all you need to do is gain enough xp back to remove the "3x" first. This prevents there being essentially no skill penalty for death on epic. Examples: Carpentry on Epic is 80. Carpentry off epic is 1. -> Epic skill stays only on Epic. Non-epic skill is lower than on Epic so will not over-write. Masonry on Epic is 20. Masonry off epic is 50. -> Epic skill stays only on Epic. Non-epic skill is higher than Epic and there is no "3x" modifier so traveling back to epic will over-write the old "20" epic skill to "50". Farming on Epic is 50[3x](until 51). Farming off epic is 75. -> Epic skill stays only on Epic. Non-epic skill is higher than Epic but will not overwrite until the 3x modifier is removed on epic. Words of wisdom for those choosing between Chaos and Epic servers: Epic is a very unique situation in that you cannot build up your skills on the "safe" Freedom server then transfer with all those skills over to Epic. Instead, what happens if you take a portal to Epic, is that a second copy of your character is made, and all characters start on Epic with 0 skills on their Epic character, no matter what skills they had on the Freedom servers. You can go back and forth between the two, however skills & inventory items do not transfer between those two -- they are treated as if they were separate and unique characters (even though they share a name, and also share bank/coin assets). For that reason, if your longterm goal is Epic & PvP, you might be better off to start there. Joining an established village on a so-called "home" server will probably reduce greatly the risk of gankers/griefers, but to be honest I am not a PvP player at all and know very little about the current state of PvP there, or an exact definition of what the home servers are. I would wait until someone more familiar with the "risk" for a new player to survive on Epic, for advice. Villages: Starting out in wurm as a lone player can be tough. For some making it all on their own is the style of choice, for others they prefer to join a village. Quite often you will read recommendations to join a village as a new player to help get your feet on the ground- not a bad suggestion at all. If you are interested in joining a village you can either look at an ingame "village recruitment board", ask in kingdom chat, or check out the "Village Recruitment Center" or one of the server specific recruitment boards here or here. Typically the forums will give you the broadest view of what is available vs. who is online at the moment you ask and sees your question. Village recruitment boards will only show villages on the server you are on.     Aloha all I have been trying to unlock the 'Imu Pig' recipe, so i then can unlock the 'Bramson's Kailua Pig and Cabbage' recipe, but I seem to have hit a dead end.... I prepared it exactly how should but it no work. I dug my hole... I then killed my pig... I added stone to my Imu... I added Hot Charcoal to my Stones, get em all Hot and what not... I added fresh grass to cover the rock and charcoal... I got stones... hot charcoal... and grass covering the stone and charcoal... one pig on top... I still no unlock the Imu Pig Recipe? What am I doing wrong? I already chopped the cabbage and invite da bruddah's over for some fresh kailua pig... if I don't get the Imu Pig recipe unlock I no can use my fork to shred my pork and unlock kailua pig recipe with chopped cabbage... Please help!?! Thank you Bram

    Me and her have been together for some time. She was the first rare Ebonaura wagon in existence, delivered by Maurizio personally. Now that i have a supreme wagon, it's time she found someone who will appreciate her more. Will deliver to most places for free.     We have had some success this time! With the key difference that i created all of the sealed fermenting drinks on the ground, then picked them up and put them into the rack instead of just creating inside the rack, one has worked. So far only one of the 8 has fermented, a stout, but it's in my cookbook! huzzah!

    Are these wares made from Xanadu iron or imported cheap iron from celeb? In my many years of playing/studying Wurm I have found that iron weapons/tools from celeb, and the other older islands, tends to damage faster and chants decay faster as well. That's why I only buy Xanadu made products and support local farmers (crops tend to be of better quality from my experience also).

    Quite a simple one, could there be some sort of event message reminding us to pick up our meditation rug upon finishing a meditation and walking away from the rug used? Basically, if you finish meditating and proceed to walk or ride away, you'll be notified you left the rug behind if you don't pick it up. It may seem like a silly addition, but I've almost lost my rug several times to this, so far I've been lucky in remembering where I left it. It's only really an issue if you travel around alot and meditate on the go.

    I'm not sure I agree with this and the use of the example of Cuba kind of makes me wonder about the entire suggestion. If someone in Cuba can afford the internet on those wages, the price for the game is not going to be as big of an issue as they are saying.

    Rather interesting idea. When I first saw this, I was thinking it was something that would make high skilled players explode, but I see the motive and it is a good one. Unique to the subscription model for any game I have seen. It really won't make a long term impact I think. The devs made the game a lot more playable in the FTP model recently and at some point, people in Cuba (or wherever finances may be tight) will hit the 10s wall and have to pay or walk away. Nobody ever plays for long when they know they can't reach the top of a game, or that they will eventually be unable to afford. +1 for the interesting idea, but I doubt it would get used for anything but keeping a bunch of priest batteries prem at a fraction of the cost they are now. I know it is what I would do. In fact, I'd start farming batteries.

    First PMK has formed. A second PMK is apparently close to forming. Second death tab appeared on the server today. Survival mod was tweaked today. Also looking into if the mobs are too hard for the players.

    I have a suggestion in the form of having a set of rules and being consistent with the way the rules are adhered to by staff when ruling on cases. Apply the rules "as is" the reason the game is unbalanced, has a bad rep by a lot of players and some players don't have high expectations is because of the lack of consistency.     Have the rage meter on the forums for extra power. Sounds like a good idea, in its basic form. Longer lasting focus. Im not add enough to lose focus in a multi person engagement, but i guess makarus is...

    Aye, that's why I would have preferred that Rocky/Sila talk to the locals first instead of duplicating or tripling already existing infrastructure. Would have been easy to accommodate their merchants at already existing markets and inns. Now it*s just confusing for people.

    another 300 tiles done, the following area is completed (north mystic lake) there was alot to do following the fall of sloppy hollow although about 30% has been untouched because of Vagabonds Rest. i took no screenshots, woulda had to take too many but it's easy to check and will definately be apparent on the next map dump. In total, bachus vineyard and sloppy hollow have been cleaned up. throughway roads and highways untouched.

    Just as an observation of how this is panning out: People are selling large catalogues of recipes for ten cent each. This is essentially buying a cheat sheet of all the recipes others made and you are just getting it for a price. When people read a recipe on the forums they still have to MAKE it once to get it added, wheras buying it just ads it automatically. It really does not matter much, it is a game mechanic and people like me who are not really interested in standing for hours discovering recipes can at least add something interesting to cook once in a blue moon. As for discovering affinities, I gave up when my affinities changed from one pan to another or one oven to another or forgetting to add a dash of oil or adding a mouldy egg instead of a fresh one...or blinking wrong or standing on one leg instead of two, or cooking while the wind blew East instead of West. However, it would seem to confirm that no free sharing on forums turned recipes into a money making commodity rather than a community building fun activity.

    That's when it's time to plant some grass and let your fields lie fallow a while. Give your animals some enchanted grass to munch on and space enough not to catch a disease. Drop in a good cushion of upkeep... and take a break. Wurm definitely can be a second life, and a really cool one at that, but whenever I start to feel a little too sucked in... time to download something else for a while. Or, do a bit of the above but not like you're closing for a whole season, just enough not to be home a while... Getting far enough off deed to need improvising, fear for my life, or meet cool natives, always does a lot to rekindle my love for the game. ***************************** Far as combat, seems to me Wurm has the right underpinnings. Things like striking specific areas of your opponent for particular effect is not something every game has, by a long shot imho. It has a solid foundation to build on. I wouldn't really talk about a complete overhaul but rather what can be done to grow the current system to a more commonly palatable form. What I would imagine as an eas(ier) start might be a bit more visual feedback so my eyes don't have to focus on the text quite as much, but can look at my screen as a whole. I know I've mentioned this before... but just as we now have the red circle of doom closing up on the screen when death approaches, a similar mechanic could indicate where the opponent is directing his/her/its attacks as they switch so we can compensate accordingly. I'm sure there's far more imaginative people who can give better suggestions, but I'd focus on the system we have and what layer(s) we can build on top of it. /2i

    Sila, I was there yesterday and the modifications you made were still present. I've spoken to some of the locals recently, and we really don't appreciate that you would break game rules in order to modify the local infrastructure for the sake of your founding a satellite market deed in a conspicuous location. It gives the impression that you don't care what the locals want, or about the game rules themselves, and only care about your markets being as visible as possible.

    Being a new player myself (Arakiel insists I am new even after a month) I find this ridiculous. I have received incredible help and an amazing reception by the people of Wurm. Seeing stories like these kinda make me wonder why. There is nothing quite like getting your ass handed to you by a wolf and having to run crying like a p...y to the nearest guard tower, then licking the red off your healthbar for the next few hours. Day before yesterday I saw my first shark. Wondering if I could take it out, I sailed towards it and whacked it over the head. Being the newbie I am, I did not notice I was at the border of the map, and either that shark or the game mechanics kicked me off the boat. The shark beat me around like a redheaded stepchild as I tried to board my ship to sail away but kept getting knocked off. I managed to board the ship and set course to some random island and immediately zoned, ending up with 3% health. Thankfully Vernex was nearby. Within a minute I was back on the Celebration server and sailing back. He intercepted me and used cotton to bind my wounds. Why do I tell this story, you ask? Because if I had been a thief, a brute, or a Shitler I would had died cold and alone from bleeding wounds. No free 100ql enchanted sword is worth loosing that. Experiences are the reason we play the game. Never sacrifice community for a few silver. Unlike silver, you can't get community back.

    Actually you have to be a premium account, fairly certain anyways to cap a pillar. If you can't deal with a few alts, I know I am repeating myself, then you need to organize and get a bigger group. I know you claim MR used alts all the time to do hota, which was funny cause you know everyone in mr was just an alt. It is a pvp server, can't be that hard to kill some low fs alt running him down on a hell horse can it? This argument against alts is laughable, pvp server just go kill them.
