    With the few hours in the day, most people don't have time to travel to buy sleep powders. Please allow us to mail them either as: 1. A drop item, but no drop on death (thanks thorgot) 2. Keep it as no drop, but add an exception to allow dropping into a mailbox like "dropping" into trade window. More people will buy them if they can be mailed, I sure will.

    Right now, it doesn't seem that sickle rarity actually increases the QL of cut grass, picked flowers, or harvested forestry goods (fruit, camellia, etc.). This seems pretty inconsistent with how resource-gathering works in general, and I think it would be nice if a rare sickle (or bucket, in the case of maple) actually improved QL in a manner similar to mining, woodcutting, and digging.

    as stated previously, the cooking update in WU will come with the ability for server admins to create their own recipes, change a lot of things that may be affected by mods. Server admins will need to ensure that it works smoothly with their existing modded servers.

    When a forge/oven is lit, ash should store up in it the more fuel you add. Being able to extract this ash from the forge/oven after the fire is out would be a very helpful quality of life addition that would make creating ash much less painful when needing large amounts. Currently it's .10kg of ash per 1.5kg kindling campfire. So perhaps 10kgs of wood fueled to the forge could give 1kg of ash when the forge/oven goes out to make it a little simpler? You'd just right click the unlit oven or forge and get the option to Empty ash or something, which would then sweep it out into your inventory.

    Doing this for all skills would be really bad, for obvious reasons. However, I think limiting effective skill to 20 for the things priests currently can't do is fine, like continuing complex items, building structures, or improving things. It would allow priests a modicum of self-sufficiency and actual function as characters. Fun fact: The code already gives priests a penalty when they improve stuff! I'm not sure how to best handle other stuff, like Fo priests mining, though, since that's more of an "acceptable conduct" god-specific issue. tl;dr let priests improve and continue items/structures but limit their effective skill like a nonpremium account when they do it

    Maybe instead of restrictions, priests should have a limit to their non-priest related skills, kind of like when you run out of premium

    In my experience priests have always been treated like the bastard child who nobody wanted, only gets given the scraps from the table and a swift back hand to the face whenever they ask for more.

    not sure "stand in a pen for 50 hours to gain enough shield skill to be effective in PvP" or "log in an alt on an enemy kingdom an shoot at them for hours" would be increasing new players, sounds more like punishing. The old shield training method was not a good method, it was simply the best way to skill with a broken system. Instead of returning to that, our focus is on improving the underlying cause. It should be on test this week, I'll speak with the devs Edit - It's there! A quick (long drawn out) fight against a fog spider with 20 skills and a 95ql shield wound up with about .13 shield skill gain, feel free to jump on, spawn some gear and grab one of the horses

    -1 Does no one remember People collapsing themselves in while getting each other killed to try make a res effect to work/recalling body with karma so chasers would get nothing. People getting caught alone just running into tunnels that lead to safety. Raiders ruining the terrain outside of deeds making multiple mines every time they wanted have a fight Then defenders having bash hours to just remove the minedoor and then fix the mess every time. Or everyone in TS agreeing how stupid it is fight people at a minedoor and only your horses get kiled then forced to walk home. Only time minedoors were breached back then were tiles not reinforced and mined in/Chasers having such a zerg people in cave couldn't stop the people bashing in which took ages or deeding the damn cave to break in. Only the few I remember which caused the way minedoors work now. Pvpers asked for the change back then. Read some the posts but there would need be a lot of restrictions for it not revert back to old way of minedoors becoming a waste of time to try get the players out.

    But... I doubt it would be a radical statement to say that a significant portion of Trump's voter base was attracted to him doing exactly what your liberal friends are doing - using profane language, being hostile, rude, not using facts to support policies, etc. I'm at a Catholic university right now which, at least as far as I can tell, was pretty anti-Trump. Most of the initial reasoning I'd heard around campus was based around his character and his extreme campaign declarations; he said wild things to rile up masses with emotion and rhetoric, and used his own offensive personality to deepen the divide between the "high-minded liberal pussies" and the "rural white hick trash" which just made the campaign even more horrendous. One could say Trump scraped out those key swing states by exploiting the EXTREMES of voter's positions - the alt-right white nationalism, severe (if not violent) exclusion of other races, objectification of women - all of which are positions not acquired through empathy and reasoning. Clearly, a large portion of Americans were unhappy with the establishment on BOTH sides, voting for Trump and Bernie, or not voting at all (I'd heard 43% didn't vote in general election?) but the method as to which Trump achieved his victory was unsettling and disturbing. Not downing some of the general ideas of "draining the swamp" (ofc now he's putting his family and Wall Street execs in the transition team) and focusing on the working class, but god knows if his policies will actually reflect half of what he campaigned on. It sucks big-time having to, as a country, go through a campaign like this, right? The more educated and reasonable we can all be, the better; however, sometimes it's easier to get votes by stirring up anger/scorn rather than presenting a calm and rational case.

    Some folks have Real Life reason to not become a follower in a game, various religious reasons from the few I have talked to about becoming a follower. Are they to be mocked and penalized then for their real life beliefs? Yes you can say it's just a game but to some it's more important to follow their real life morals and beliefs than something in game. I follow under this with a similar thing, I don't drink in real life, and I don't drink in game, no reason why, I just prefer not to. So please, don't say no reason for anyone to not be a follower unless you know that for an absolute fact.

    Accelerated Forestry & Gardening (& Farming) Server Mod for Wurm Unlimited This mod allows to speed up the growth of trees, bushes, fruit (and other harvestables), hedges, grass, kelp, reed, flowers, trellises, herb planters, fields and to refresh foraging and botanizing for tiles that allow it. Every action to start a task consumes a certain amount of a watering or fertilizing item. After the action is performed, a certain time span is required for the task to be performed. After the task has been finished, another task can be started for that tile/object. While there can exist only one task for a particular tile/object at a time, the number of simultaneous tasks for different tiles/objects is potentially infinite. The default items for watering and fertilizing are water and ash, respectively. Possible tasks are (if enabled, actions use and increase either the forestry or gardening skill; the skill governing an action is indicated in parentheses): Make trees and bushes grow by watering them. (forestry) Make hedges grow by watering them. (gardening) Have trees and bushes grow fruit (or other harvestables) out of season by fertilizing them. (forestry) Increase the grass height on grass and tree tiles by watering the ground. (gardening) Grow (random) flowers on a grass tile by watering it when at maximum height. In contrast to conventional flower growth, all flowers have the same probability. (gardening) Make kelp and reed grow by fertilizing them. Note that there is no visual indicator of height for these tiles. (gardening) Refresh the ability to forage and/or botanize tiles that allow it by fertilizing them. (gardening) Make trellises grow by watering them. (gardening) Make (planted) trellises (except ivy) harvestable out of season by fertilizing them. (gardening) Make herb planters age faster by watering them to reach the age at which they can be harvested. (gardening) Make herb planters harvestable by fertilizing them when at the right age. (gardening) Make fields grow by watering them. (farming) Make underwater fields grow by fertilizing them. (farming) Almost every aspect can be modified via the configuration file. Time required by tasks and polling interval (see below). Cost, time and item required for actions. Influence of skill, item quality and age on task time, action time and action cost. Failure chances and random time variations, optionally influenced by skill level and item quality. Other options are: Block certain actions or tile/object types. Show status on examine if a task is enqueued for the examined tile/object. Enforce a cool down time for an object or tile after a task has been finished. Continuous growth until some age or height limit is reached (conventional step-wise growth after that). Age limit for trees and bushes. Gain skill for performing actions. Persistent task list when shutting down the server. Obey tile protection. Active protection against conventional server poll for tracked objects. Use the original growth functions with all related effects and chances. Optional deactivation of the vanilla timer-based field growth mechanics. Task time can be defined by a base time and several multipliers for task type, object/tile type, species, age, modifier (normal, enchanted, mycelium), skill and item quality. The time required to grow a tree, t, is TaskTime < t < TaskTime + PollInterval where TaskTime is the time required for a task as specified by BaseTaskTime and a collection of multipliers. TaskTime = BaseTaskTime * task_multiplier * type_multiplier * species_multiplier * age_multiplier * modifier_multiplier * skill_multiplier * quality_multiplier Multipliers can be tweaked separately for all kinds of conditions. For more information, see the mod's properties file. Other information: Accelerated tree and bush growth ignores all related effects that otherwise would be invoked when a tree or bush grows.* Accelerated fruit/harvestable growth ignores seasons. Accelerated grass growth ignores seasonal growth rates. * Such as tree death & self re-plant, mycelium decay, killing area checks for oaks and willows, sprouting to nearby tiles, mushrooms, etc. These effects still occur, but at a normal rate. Planned features: What else could need acceleration? Any suggestions? Requirements: Ago's Mod Launcher, version 0.43 (Wurm Forum page) Intended for Wurm Unlimited 1.9.1.5 As always with modded content, I rid me of all liability. Although the mod in non-invasive and can be removed at any time without any effect on the world, make a backup. Just to be sure. If you don't have a mods directory, you need to install Agos's mod launcher.

    This may have been requested before (and I know many players are waiting for it) - and it already was present in the unstable client at some time. However it never appeared in the live version of WO, while it is available in WU. Please make text on signs visible! It must be possible (and I didn't see any problems so far), as can be seen by these two screenshots from WU: This will add a lot more realism to the game.

    For ages we have been designing lighthouse-ish buildings and trying to find the strongest lights we can to power them, yet from a distance, all current lights end up failing at their intended purpose. I propose we add a new structure: The Lighthouse. Have 3 different building material styles, to match the current building styles of today. The structures look like a lighthouse (possibly rounded). They are very bright! Can be seen from 3-5x the distance of a typical light fixture. Doesn't need to be climbable - much like a guard tower. Light can be dyed. Super special feature: They can be seen through fog! Restrictions for building: 1. Must be within 10 tiles of open water. 2. Must be on a deed that touches open water. 3. Lighting power is relative to deed size, so we don't just have a ton of 1s secondary deeds making lighthouses. 4. Limited to 1 per deed. I know longer lighting effect distances can be problematic, but Make this light only effect the local shadows/terrain/structures in a small radius, but the light source be seen from far away. That should help performance and not impact all the neighbors lighting.

    These days with access to massive resources, its become more and more apparent that managing large numbers of metal lumps has become overly difficult... even by Wurm standards. This is most apparent in hauling large numbers of lumps in crates. To help alleviate this, I recommend a larger unit of metal: the ingot. Exact numbers would really be dev specific; though, even something small such as 30 lumps for every ingot would have a huge impact. Perhaps even at the max limits for combining lumps. Offhand same creation method as anvils. In reverse, one could reheat the ingot back into lumps or simply have the ingot activated in place of the lump; though, unsure how much re-coding persay would be required with the later. Similar means could be taken with other small items; though, for this thread I'll just stick with molten metal.

    While it is true that as a priest I cannot build many things. But as a priest, I can have many skills for single combines that are well over 25. I can also make items to be used in single combines or even by other builders that would raise my skill over 25. Why would I want to now limit those skills to only 25. I do know that it is difficult to live on your own as a priest and not live in a village. But just as I am selling my enchanted items, I can pay someone with the silver I gained to come build me a house or make me a boat or a wagon or cart. I know that it would be easy to say that I should be able to do everything on my own but I look at it as a way that the silver gets moved around from my hands to someone else. As a disclaimer, I am a vyn priest. I do have a crafter that can make things for me but the priest is by a long shot the one that is played the most. Once the deed is built (thank you Gatwick and Ishy for all the terraforming), a priest is more than able to live on their own and take care of their needs.

    I don't. Yes it can be frustrating, but i would rather they stay attached, giving me an option for that style of gameplay, than being locked away forever on a server where i have fewer options.

    Will it affect archery gains also? The skill nerf on animals made it so archery is now basically the most painful grind (aside from meditation ofc) that is required for pvp

    How is RMT bad? You and others keep bringing this up but I fail to see anthing negative about it. And what are you on about circulation on epic? 99% of the ###### that you loot is thrown into a safemine or somewhere and will likely not be seen by an enemy again for a long time unless the deed get raided. If anything, chaos has a lot more circulation due to a ton of things being available to be bought from the pve side of the game and such.

STAHP TEH CRINGE TRAIN PLEASE on a sidenote...you shouldn't brag about killing a naked guy over and over again, BUT HEY, your choice lads y opening mines after you dug down the dirtwall cause you know there is no way whatsoever to close it in this stage of the server is just griefing anyway....hope you guys had fun for the 2 weeks you occasionally logged in and started thinking "how can we ruin the game for everybody else today?"

    Portable forges and ovens on any vehicle including ships. Tradeoffs would be smaller capacities, higher difficulties, and etc

    I don't understand this idea. You can load a forge into a wagon if you're really dying to sell a high quality forge. +1 also because it would make it easier to fix up lamps along a road.

    I always bring clay and spam forges everywhere I go inside caves, since it's much more convenient than hauling around a stupid wagon. I've never ever made a smelter so far because of the ridiculous materials needed - But why would I since it's easier to just spam out forges? +/-1, for people who don't want to spam forges everywhere I guess it would be neat to be able to bring a smaller one, but in all honesty it would be better if we were just allowed to bring regular forges on large carts.
