Hi Everyone! I'm Chakron, developer of the website Niarja.com which parses every tweet sent out by the Wurm Online twitter accounts and displays them in a useful, searchable interface. Today I launched Niarja Skill Compare - this thread will detail what it's all about, but why wait? Take a look at what it does right now. ------ Niarja Skill Compare What do you do when you want to share your skills with friends, or sell your character? You take a skill dump. And boy, skill dumps are ugly. Wurm Online has 140 skills and a skill dump is just a line-by-line list of every skill you have. Wurm skills aren't even in a particularly useful order. People have developed skill highlighting applications just to make some sense out of them. Even now it's hard - you're basically looking a new skill dump every time you see one. You have no idea what order things appear it, what skills will be highlighted (or how), or what the format of the dump will even be. Niarja Skill Compare solves all of that. Here's my character sheet. Character sheets show off your skills in a consistent format. They also show what you're best at, and let you compare your skills to the rest of the Wurm world. They even let you track your skillgain progress! For example, let's click on my digging skill and take a look: Clicking on my Digging skill has shown that on Freedom Cluster, I am the #1 Digger who has publicly shared their skills! And that's pretty great...but I'm also the only person currently on Niarja Skill Compare, so I doubt that'll last. You also see a graph right below. I've uploaded three skill dumps and Niarja Skill Compare has created that graph for me to check my skill progress. After you've uploaded more than one skill dump you can click on any skill and start seeing that. Looks Cool! I don't want to share my data with everyone! You don't have to! After registering an account, you get to decide if your data is public (shared with everyone), or private. When your character data is public you'll be able to compare your skills to other players. When your character data is private you're not allowed to do that, but you gain the ability to keep your information to yourself. But don't worry - you have a code you can give out to your friends if you want to share your data to select individuals. I Play on Freedom and Epic, will this break? Nope! Your character maintains separate skill sets for the Freedom and Epic clusters. You can even toggle privacy separately. For example, you can have a public Freedom Cluster skill dump and a private Epic Cluster skill dump, all for the same character! Can I use this to help sell a character? Easily. You're able to post public characters to the "For Sale" area. Just give us a link to your thread in For Sale or Auctions and we'll feature your character sale right on the front page, giving your potential buyers an easy way to check out your skills. Look at the Best and Compare with Others! On the main page of Niarja Skill Compare, you can view the top and most active players. You can also search to see the top players in a particular skill (but only the ones who have shared their data publicly!). You can even search for specific players. ------ There are still some rough areas, but I think I've got the bugs mostly worked out. This should work pretty well (but not VERY well) on your phone or tablet, too. Let me know if you run into any problems, because I'd love to fix those as quickly as possible. If you've got any ideas, post them here or better yet, head on over to my thread in the Toolbelt. Thanks!

We tailors are finally getting some love. New clothing of all sorts to dress our wurmians into! Now, I am seeing some new outfits. They are beautiful. But why not add courtly clothes, and dresses. Hey, a Kilt could also be nice for those with scottish roots among us! And now, the main topic Leatherworking has an ultimate material: Drake Hide Platesmithing has an Ultimate Material: Dragon Scales What does the cloth tailor have? Absolutely nothing... nothing that can be useful to a priest, even. So, here comes my idea... A new monster, a unique, called the spider queen. It runs deadly toxins, and would be rather hard to kill, what does it drop? ... Bunches of spider's silk! That silk can be cured (with Lye) to become Cured Spider Silk, then it would be woven into string carefully (Spindle or Spinning wheel? Spindle would work better I think), then you can weave it into silk cloth. What can you do with that silk cloth? Armour that weighs nearly nothing, that hardly slows you down (just as cloth armor) but protects as good as a studded leather. Priests would love this, wouldn't they? Of course, something so ...regal and rare as silk, the piece of armor would have to have that look. A look of master craftsmanship to it! Be hard to make, hard to imp... but in average, rather worth it for archers or priests! Allowing them to keep the full bonus while having a seeming of protection! Edit: After reading the comments and suggestions, I agree that my idea would work if drawn from spider, and here's a way to still make it hard enough that not everyone would be able to walk in spider silk, but be something for those wealthier or part of larger communities. Each spiders have a chance to drop silk. The drop would come in the form of a silk gland, each age categories would give a gland that is 0.5 in weight, and when treated with Lye, each glands of 0.5 gives 0.1 of Silk. Then, you need to spindle that silk into silk thread, and 1 thread being 0.2kg of silk, means you need at least 2 silk glands to make a silk thread That silk thread is what is used into the imping process. However, Silk Thread can be woven into Silk Cloth in a Loom, which allows the creation of sets of Silk Armor. As a silk armor would require the killing and successful butchering of dozens of spiders, it still makes it much more rare to work with then cotton, harder to work with then wool (as not everybody can kill spiders) and require a lot of spider kills to make one set. Spiders cannot be bred, so that does help keep the difficulty level of that Supreme Material for tailoring high enough that to not make Cotton become outright outdated. Any feedbacks over that new idea?

When will Forum accounts and game accounts finally be linked together? At this time anyone can use a proxy server and a throw away email account to create unlimited Forum accounts here. They can then use those to troll the heck out of these forums without repercussions. I say it's time for Wurm to take back these Forums from the multi-forum account trolls.

People are so confused about what pvp and pve are. PVP have nice communities who need eachother to survive and help eachother, work together and are almost completely friendly and welcomming. PVE is cut-throat where people dont give a ###### and do anything to earn some coin, including scamming, stealing and backstabbing eachother. Not just over coin but land, resources, or just because they can be mean to eachother. In many ways PVP and PVE on wurm are switched around, at least when it comes to what type of player plays where and their attitudes towards eachother.

A request for clothing: make a set of the current versions of clothing that are plain white and can be dyed. They don't need to be different models at all, just capable of being coloured as we like. It's always struck me as odd that I can dye things like signs and lamps, but not basic clothing.

Well, it's been fun. Niarja has been around since...at least 2015? I think a simplified version existed before then, but it's hard to remember now. I played Wurm at a very different time in my life. That's over now - I have no interest in the game, have no idea what's going on, and probably couldn't name a single developer if I tried. Niarja is very cheap to run (free) but there are still responsibilities such as performing security and backend upgrades on a regular basis. I've kept it running for 4-5 years past my "don't care" point, but I'm done now. I'm still very impressed by how many people have enjoyed the tool and talk about it on the forums or in the official Wurm Discord. It's going away, but I'm confident someone will be able to create a new and better version that has all the features I never bothered adding. All aspects of Niarja.com will shut down on October 1st, 2022. If you've used Niarja Skill Compare before, your "Manage Characters" page now contains a link to download all of your skill uploads into a single CSV file. Whatever tool exists in the future should be able to consume that file and get you caught up.

In game polling. As it is very apparent that the forums , polls are not being used by the majority of wurm players why not Stop game changing implantation's from taken place as a result of these forum polls. Seems that the 1-2% of the population even vote on these polls. It would take away the power of the forum warriors and give the real voice to the player base. Not the 1-2% Bring us in game polling

I have no problem with pvp players doing their own thing on the pvp servers. If they are better or worse players or have a better or worse community that PvE players is of no concern either, as well as the necessity for group play influencing this. The problem arises when pvp concerns influence PvE coding, timers, abilities and on and on. Or having exclusive pvp items transported to the PvE servers for sales profits. If Rolf ever decides to isolate the pvp items and influences from the PvE servers, then the PvE players will have no further justifications to make complaints about the pvp part of the game. Until then the battle and divide that *he* has created between them will rage on, justifiably. =Ayes=

PvP needs PvE to survive and was proven when Wild almost died then got connected.... PvE would still thrive and be fine if you removed PvP from the game no problem and proven with Pristine/Release. Basically PvP in Wurm is Rolf's baby and he pushes a lot of coin and content at it hoping one day it will be more than it is. SO far not much has worked and its the same ole players rehashed on new accounts for the most part.

Ok so everytime I go hunting I come home with 50-100 bodies. Which is great when the token has funds, get a nice little boost to my deed money. However since I am on Xanadu the coffers are empty a lot. So I started thinking...if we could stuff the bodies and pose them we could use them to decorate. Hell Scorpion in the hall, Trolls on guard out front, the possibilities are endless. Maybe you could also just stuff the head and hang it on the wall, example deer, bison, unicorn. So what do you think?

Hello fellow wurmians ! I wanted to ask your opinion about this idea Ive had with some friends. As we all know, nature in wurm its perfectly developed and everything works pretty much like reality or at least it haves good adaptations most of the times so we noticed there are no products of insect origin, so the first thing that came to mind was bees, we can have honey as the main harvestable item and with it make different kinds of meals or even drinks, such as mead, which could also be made with fruits, like "honey+water = mead" and a variety could be "honey+water+berries = blue berry mead" of course we cant go around harvesting honey directly from hives, so I thought it would be nice to make this kind of things http://img.over-blog-kiwi.com/0/53/46/33/201311/ob_2791da23ecd9454336acc79c6384b6a9_dsc08244.JPG http://www.babilon.be/uploads/images/Gallery/Apiculture/somme-leuze.jpg to store hives inside and harvest honey every 2 months for example ( wurmian months ) let me know what you think and please share any idea that could improve this one ! thanks and keep on wurming !

Please refer to our villages new forum post. The Eventuality - The biggest village in wurm? - Recruitment (X) - Wurm Online Forum This page will no longer be updated, please close mods Hello Wurmians! The Eventuality is recruiting citizens! We are a HUGE deed located is SW Xanadu. We wish to create a bustling, social community that everyone can’t wait to log into. We have a little something for everyone, take some time to see what we have to offer. We are recruiting ALL types of players. Newbs, Vets, Farmers, Priests, Shipwrights, whatever. Villagers Count: 20 - Still room for more! We are almost full up on our first wave of recruiting! We have 3 City plots, and 1 Farm plot left!More plots are being terraformed for even more villagers. (Surface mining is fun!We have what appears to be a two inactive players. We give 3 weeks of unwarned inactivity before we remove from village, so there may be additional lots open next week. What We Offer Huge Lot Sizes! We have generous lot sizes and many types. Our smallest lot sizes are equal to everybody else's average! ALL lots are able to be developed as you see fit, we do not have to approve each and every construction you want to start. Need advice on how / what to build? The many vets in the village and alliance are here to help. For the City Dweller: (two F2p plots, 1 Premium plot left!)We have many lots available close to the town square, Public workshop, market, public mine. These lots are closer together to promote that city feel, but still generous in size. Corner lots are larger, while lots adjacent to the main roads are smaller. Lot sizes start at 5x5 and go to 7x12 (Smaller lots available if you want them?)For the Beach Goer: (Out of Stock!) We have ocean front lots that butt up right against a deep water bay. Perfect for the fishers, boat makers, and traveling merchants. SW Xanadu has some of the busiest boating lanes on the server, and we are located very close to the Xanadu - Deli server crossing. These lots are only a short uphill (paved) walked to the town square, so getting access to all the public utilities is still very easy. Lot sizes start at 5x5 and go up from there! For the Farmer: (One 300 tile farm left) We have TONS of space for farming. We have over 2000 tiles already terraformed for your use, and plenty of more space to create more farmland should we need to. We have some smaller farms located very close to the city center, and the larger farms are just a short walk to the town square and market. Lot sizes are allotted according to how much you want to maintain. For the Hermit: (Out of Stock!) We have plenty of backwoods, secluded lots a good walk away from the town center. Hilly, flat, mountain side or ocean side. (Its a very big deed) If you want all the advantages of a deed, without having to pay for it all yourself, come on over! There is a lot of un-terraformed, virgin land on the north half of the island waiting for you to settle and tame. Lot sizes starting at 5x5 and going to 9x9. Long term villagers can get even larger lots if they want them! For the Alts / traveler: We are located adjacent to Xanadu Trade Center, less than a 10 second walk! We are building a public hotel that you can stay at, or log your alts off at. If you want to maintain an alt in the village to keep watch on your market stalls, we can /vinvite your alt for the teleport, and give you alt permissions. (Nothing) XDPublic Workshop: We have a public workshop for all villagers to use. If you’re a farmer but need a loom? Just come and use the workshop instead of having to building your own! The workshop has a large storage room stocked by villager donations. Feel free to take a Stone Brick and leave a Stone Brick! Freedom! Most deeds dictate what you can build, full freedom to build whatever you would like on your land. Need more space or want to get a change of scenery? We can work out expanding your lot or relocating to a new one. Want to build a public building? Go ahead! Village Mine: There is a huge village mine that goes down into the mountain. LOTS of vein types, well lit as well. Easy access to the mine right across from the workshop in the village town square.Free Enchanted Grass Stables / Enchant: If you dont want to use your plot to store your hose(s), we have public stables with enchanted grass tiles that you can use. All villagers will get a free enchanted grass tile on their plot if they wish to keep their animals restricted access.Skill Resort: There is a skill resort free to access for all villagers (Normally paid for non villagers). Schedule a night at the skill resort and get access to HQ tools, rare forges, copious amounts of pans, and all other tools needed for fast efficient skilling. Free instructions, hints and tips to maximize skill gain for those who want it.All The Basics: We have all the normal deed stuff too, token (Obviously), Mailbox’s (Yes multiple), boat storage, alters, guard towers, blah blah blah.Xanadu Trade Center: We are adjacent to Xanadu Trade Center, everyone can place a merchant in a market stall for free! A large fight arena that will host duel’s, gladiator style fights against creatures and more. Xanadu Trade Center also plans to host Sermons, Impalongs, and other server wide entertainment in the future too. There is a bulk goods section that you can rent to sell and store your bulk goods. There is also a large 7000 tile farm that you can rent to quickly fill large farm orders. All villagers receive a generous discount on the rentals for the bulk storage houses and the farm.Deed Rules: Griefing will not be tolerated, if a fellow villager forgot to lock a door, that does not mean you can loot his house. Be respectful to all players Dont disappear for two months without warning. (If you want to take a short leave for a month or two we can reserve a spot for your return, but if there is no update inactive citizens will be removed to make room for others.)We want this to feel like an open bustling city, therefore to encourage long term residents there are very few rules. Build whatever you would like, practice whatever craft you wish, no obligation to donate to community resources or city upkeep (But please do if you like the village!). Invitations and additional information: So now that you want to join our community, you may have additional questions. Please /tell Beach, Middi, or Unluckyone for questions or an invitation. Want to take a tour and see it in person, spawn a f2p alt and we will teleport you over and give you the walk around! Blue is where we are settling people for this village, Yellow is other deeds we own that are used (Market, Skill Resort, Giant Farm, Etc)

Free home, pics below. People have been asking in chat for any known & available coastal areas for deeding with some frequency lately, so I decided to build one for anyone that wants it. Ideally I'd prefer to pass it over to someone that 1) will deed it, 2) knows they will continue to play, 3) actually needs it (IE not someone's summer home~) If interested, PM me here or in-game — Nefretiti. (Guesstimated deed cost 6.5s, give or take.) Clay nearby (Right outside the front door actually) 35 farm tiles (there's plenty of room for addition with purchase of dirt) Veins - Copper (normal, good) Iron (very good x2, good, normal x2, acceptable, poor), Lead (very good), Tin (normal), Zinc (poor). Animals - 1 bull, 3 cows, 3 pigs (2 males, 1 fem), 3 sheep (1 male, 2 fems), and 1 4-speed horse (male)— sorry I don't have a spare females Location: (10min trip to nearby market) House: (Furnishings included / 2 bedroom)

This is not about un-nerfing the difficulty ratings on stuff. This is not about quicker exp or stuff staying tame longer. Those things are off-topic to say the least. This thread has been tagged "PvE", meaning it's for PvE, if PvP'ers want it too feel free to share ideas, if not keep the derails, trolls, and "-1" out unless you also PvE. How this will affect PvP is inconsequent, it's not intended as a suggestion for PvP. And don't even start with the "if you want things easier" bull%@#$, I have the levels and endless hours of grind to discuss taming thank you very much. That said: The two biggest problems with taming at the moment are breeding the creatures, then weaning them. Currently, the best way to breed two aggros is have an alt standing there getting chewed on while the tame one "does the deed". I'm sure a few things wrong with that can be discussed, but this is a family forums eh. Then when the pup is born, you tame it, and can't lead in combat so tricky as hell to take it away from the mother before one of them winds up dead. Simple suggestion: After 50 taming, add the ability to tame a second one with max loyalty being split among the two animals. Meaning with my 70 taming, I could tame a hell hound to 70 loyalty points, but second I tame a second one, neither will be able to be tamed past 35. Apart from breeding/weaning making more sense, a pair of wolves make great house pets Also, hell horse owners could finally hitch them to their carts without having to worry about rogue templars. On a side note: Why not add a "roam" order to pets, so they can be tame and roam normally if allowed. Once again, wolves as house pets ftw.

As the population goes far over 400 and 500 the lag is reaching a point that it bothers me a lot. Xanadu already has more lag then then other isles. Maybe the company should look for a different hosting company...one that offers more speed and capacity...chek out the Netherlands for example please...

some time people like to chat in groups without being a village or alliance like say to create a temporary auctions so why not have new chat tabs were we can invite groups people to private chats could be done very easy by enabling remote invite to team or something like this

Why do you keep mentioning lag? Can you explain this? Nobody is asking to increase Xanadu's mob count, if that's what you mean. They're asking to even out the distribution while keeping the mob count the same. Lag has nothing to do with this. You know, this might be reasonable if it didn't take 4+ hours to sail from one side of Xanadu to the other. Having areas of light and dense mob population is actually quite nice, as it provides a place to build as well as some reliable hunting grounds, but not when they are so far apart. I don't think asking people to throw away hundreds of hours of work is reasonable, not to mention that many people are part of an alliance or otherwise have a circle of friends and neighbors around their deed, which is something that no amount of work could replace.

Bug Disconnect on a cart. Log back in. One of two things will happen. 1. Everything will be seemingly fine but if you embark something you will get stuck and unable to move or look around. 2. Everything will be fine, you can embark the cart again but if you try it ten minutes later you will be stuck and unable to move or look around. Workaround If you for whatever reason disconnect on a cart, log back in and then log back out while you are standing disembarked on the ground. Do not bother playing until you have relogged a second time because you will get stuck on a cart and hate life.

"Wurm Online is the MMORPG where the players are in charge! Developed around the idea of player influence, it remains one of the only Sandbox MMOs worthy of the term." From the homepage, this is how Wurm is described. If we are in charge, then where was this player "overwhelming impopularity" ? If the game is developed around the idea of player influence, why is it that a poll that only had 2.9% of the population participate, make such a change come about? 97.1% of the total population weren't even included. That is the overwhelming group in this travesty.

I've been waiting for this for years. The half ass attempt at connecting 'game-to-forum account' that was done a few years ago was wasted time. The only thing it did was create a "no-go" zone for most in regards to posting in Chaos' sub. The real problem is, we have a majority of the forum population using aliases, which is an anonymity situation. People say and do things they shouldn't when there's no one that can account them for it (which is the same primary reason why most players don't want in-game name changes). I am hoping that, eventually, all players get issued (via CC) one forum account per in-game character. Each forum name matches the player's name in-game, without the ability to change it. In the slight case that a person sells a character, the forum acct follows the new owner. (Yes, my suggestion prevents non-players from creating forum accounts and posting. Quite honestly, I don't think anyone cares about what an advertisement bot or a player that quit/got banned 4 years ago has to say.)

also we could end up with a real life wedding couple that repeats/renews their vows ingame (either an already married couple or a couple who met in the game, we must have some) It might make a good PR story + video maybe it will go .... v i r a l I will come and throw cotton! And wemp! (we can throw rice and flowers but that would not be as fun) +1 "any priest can perform a short service" we probably have most of this already (rings, sermons, new clothes) so just a tweak here and there to make ones specific to a wedding ceremony Oh also a trellis for roses (would look spiffy with hedges)

Hey Everyone! This week has seen more of the same from devs, with a continued focus on bugfixes and small additions. But Wossoo, what are these Fancy Pants that you talk of? Well you'll just have to keep reading! We also welcome Warlander to the team as a volunteer client developer. His focus will probably be on GUI improvements. The Week in Patch Notes The bug crusade has continued, and below is a roundup of the week's patch notes in full. Fixes that apply to all servers are in black, to purely PvP servers in blue and to purely PvE servers in green. 8/6/15:Fix so chopping a tree down leaves the grass (or mycelium) at same length (except lawn goes to short grass/mycelium).Fix for fsb and bsb becoming unplanted over server resets.Fix so can’t dig at the end of bridges.Fix so the max ql of floors and bridge parts is not restricted to 80.In order to prevent various annoying situations, siege shields (and unfinished ones) are now notake and must be created where they are supposed to be used.Turrets should now properly revert to unenchanted ones if dispelled.Removed false disease status which occurred in certain situations.Fix for fatigue going into the negative and blocking certain actions while mounted.Bulk container double turn menus removed.Scissors now take proper damage when shearing.Fix for floor/roof damage using certain tools.Blocked removing bulk items into tents due to certain exploitability.Harvesting now properly using 100 item inventory limitation.Exiting through a door with enemies players in local should now unlock it as well as when entering.Removed possibility to change creator by dealing damage to items. You can no longer tame creatures led by another player or hitched to a vehicle.Hens and chickens no longer autofollow due to disease issues.Summoned skeletons and wraiths should no longer attack same kingdom but other kingdom players.Made it so newbie tents can’t be put into containers due to exploitability.10/6/15: A few bugs that may have prevented Nathan from ascending were found, and he was ascended manually since Fo won this scenario.Powers and vitality for deities on Valrei are now recalculated when receiving immortality. The calculated attack and vitality values generated that are higher than 6 will start at 6 and add 0.1 per full point above 6. So a value of 11 will result in 6.5. This will balance the playing field better. Existing deities have had their values recalculated according to this algorithm. More New Clothing Following on from his new line of shirts released last week, Wox has continued working on Wurm's fashion range, with 3 new designs of pant. You can catch some sneak previews below - it's beginning to look like Wurm will have a pretty expansive range of clothing once he's done! Wox's next fashion venture could go anywhere... although a contact on the inside has informed us that he is currently designing new shoulder pads (pauldrons,) an optional armour slot made possible a while ago but not looked into until now. They're intended to be decoration-only. Marble Statues Continuing the trend of new art assets, we can confirm this week that we'll be releasing marble versions of all statues. For now, Saroman has given us a preview of a marble Lady of the Lake. Feedback Structure Here at the PR Team, we've also been looking into improving the ways that we collect feedback from the community. It will be an ongoing process - but to get things kicked off, we've created a new e-mail address, feedback@wurmonline.com, for general bits of feedback. Any issues with moderation should still always be raised with the moderation team, either through forum PM (or the in-game /support system where appropriate); bugs should still be reported in the maintenance area, where they will be picked up by staff and added to our lists of bugs; and suggestions for game features/changes should still be posted in the suggestions area. It might not feel like we listen to feature suggestions, but the simple fact is that the game is so huge with so many ideas that it will always take time to implement anything. Hopefully, recent dev work (like more clothing items, permissions and bugfixes) will help to emphasise that we do listen to suggestions, just that it always takes time to act on them. Most things are covered by the above, but we'd like to trial the feedback account as a way for you to communicate any other more general issues. The account will be staffed by numerous members of the PR team, and that will allow us to reply to all feedback within 24 hours - something not always possible under the current system of trying to find a team member to PM (who may be away or too busy to reply.) Handling feedback is difficult but is a top priority, and so we'd like to experiment with some slow expansion to see what works best for us and for the community. Tap Dance Bridge, Celebration It’s been exciting to see all the new bridges being created across the lands of Wurm! This week we continue to take a look at some of these bridge projects with the Tap Dance Bridge completed on the Celebration server. The folks from Mercenary Camp took it upon themselves to provide a quicker, safer route between Tap Dance and Southern Celebration. Hats off to them for such an impressive building project! The unique center arch-section allows larger ships to pass through and gives the bridge a fun, roller-coaster effect. You can learn more about the Tap Dance Bridge project here. GM Jberg/Logi also took some aerial screenshots of the bridge for us, which look pretty cool! Screenshot of the Week Our screenshot this week is courtesy of Calimdor. A fine example of covered stables now that the Devs have made it possible to plant thatch (i.e. grass) indoors. Looks awesome, Calimdor! Please disregard previously provided information. There was an issue that prevented me seeing the items name. GM's have confirmed that item sent is the proper item and when paid it is supreme in quality. The issue preventing the seeing of items name has been resolved. Seller was fast and expedient and was willing to work out other methods of getting the item due to the issue that was presented to no fault of the seller. Again this seller did provide what was stated and in a very fast manner, thank you for the sale and look forward to doing business again in the future.

-1, population doesn't need to be split any further. Everything past the OP idea has been taken over by players shouting lots of "us" and "them" and justifying themselves with "but, history!" and "but, other threads!". Stop it!

well, Melisandre just showed up at Castle Black, so maybe there's more to it. I still think 'he' is one of the 3 most important characters in the book so I don't think his story is anywhere close to over.

I suspect the ingame poll thing is too hard to use, or too few GMs have the privileges necessary to create them. Would be great if all GMs (or even better - all CMs) were able to create those, and every week we'd see several polls about popular suggestions.

And a Freedomer, like many new characters (new player or otherwise) don't get jumped "in case it's a spy" or just for the sake of ganking? You picked the PvP life, still gives you no right to pick our playstyle for us.

Just a few things: Chaos is a place where you can toggle lawful. The divide from there is created by the players (and sometimes provoked by updates and code changes, but still reside within the players) As for play style, Chaos tends to be closer-knit as you must be to survive. The other Freedom servers range from very helpful people to those who have not a care in the world for their fellow Wurmian. And while PvP exists on Chaos, I find that there's a greater PvP mindset in some PvE players. (Edit: By this, I mean I've found a higher number of aggressive players off of Chaos. By aggressive, I mean in how they conduct themselves both in chat and their actions in-game. It's also a spectrum really, because even some of the nicer folk wind up doing things to their fellow neighbor that could be considered aggressive, such as dropping 1x1 structures to prevent a neighbor from expanding their deed (land grabbing), stalking a deed that's about to disband in order to completely loot it, or other actions that are legal, but carry an unfriendly and aggressive message.) Many accounts that play PvP are high-skilled accounts, and some contribute a great deal to the economy on the rest of Freedom. And now for my personal experience: Some of the most helpful people I've met in Wurm were PvPers or moved onto Chaos after getting tired of the "keyboard warriors" on Freedom. That's why I followed them over. If you want the PvE vs PvP agro to stop, it starts with you - any and all of you.

I don`t intend this to be a flame post either, but the long awaited arrival of bridges has brought something else. Ever since I began playing, one phrase has came up time and time again, "deed it or lose it". The 'enclosure rule' was removed because people were walling off areas and claiming protection from the GMs. Living on an island has effectively meant a free wall enclosing the area, until now. I do agree with you regarding bridge mania and doing something for the sake of it, but if someone had the time, the materials, and the inclination to build a bridge in order to plant a deed then if you haven`t deeded the land then there is really nothing you can do to prevent it. It`s a similar story if one of the other island deeds choose to build a bridge off the island. Some random player could plant a deed right beside mine without speaking with me first. Inconsiderate? Yes. Can I actually say no? No, I can`t. Given the geography of Indy, connecting the east and west coasts of Crystal Lake via Maple Island would be a logical choice for reducing travel time. Looking at the map, it would seem a simple matter with minimal upheaval to bridge parallel with the existing boat bridge, run up the road on the west coast, then head directly east to bridge again and connect to the mainland`s coast road.
